>>109070220I probably would decrease the brightness of the white gradient there to increase the contrast for the app description above it and make it easier to read.
>>109070282crazy how people who do this for a living don't understand basic shit like this. everyone is fucking stupid except for me, i swear to god
>>109070220PLASMA 67PLASMA 67PLASMA 67
peak ui is stock i3 though
>>109070220KDE always did the liquid ass aesthetic the best
>>109070220>we have liquid glass at homelol
is there a way to have a proper window for a file copy? that notification thing they did in Plasma is driving me fucking nuts, who designed this shit?
>>109070475>>109070487This is fruitynigger aero, where everything looks like shiny transparent plastic and icons are more realistic.
based
>>109070220>You have no excuse anymore to not use PlasmaI have one, I don't want krashes
>>109070220>Blur and transparency effects>On Loonix desktopOh godI bet the graphics card goes to 100% as soon as one pixel moves.
>>109070927crazy how fucking ugly it looks but that's just how kuckde is anyway
>>109070220basedoxygen theme is (was) really good desuand by that I mean the application theme, not the desktop themeI was never fan of the desktop themenice to see oxygen getting some love it deserves
>>109070220yes, i use bspwm, which is just better for me.
>>109070220Looks sick for an early preview>>109070282Same desu
>>109070220But I like Cinnamon.
>>109070220looks like ass, maybe focus on making it not crash instead
>>109070220crazy how it get everything wrong
>>109070220I think they should do away with hard borders/containers. That would work a lot better and make their interface look a bit less cluttered.
>>109071595or maybe you should replace your fried CPU
>>109070291Plenty of us understand it. It's just that KDE developers are unironically retarded. KDE has not made an aesthetically pleasing release since 2008.
>>109070220eww
i can't say i was ever a fan of oxygen. i moved to gnome2 when kde4 came out, then gnome3 came out and i moved to xfce
>>109075182>aesthetically pleasingclearly you don't understand. I NEED TO SEE THE TEXT TO USE COMPUTER YOU AUTISTIC TRANSSEXUAL RETARD
>>109070220looks like bootleg aero
I kinda miss GNOME 3, ngl. I mostly stopped caring about this shit when I realised how much effort it would take to just keep everything exactly the same forever.
>>109070502freetards
>>109070220How'd he manage to make it look so good when the original KDE4 was hideous dogshit?
>>109070282or they could just add a 0px/0px shadow to the text
>>109070927Nigger you can have blur and transparency effects without issues using hw that's 20 years old on linux>t. compiz/beryl oldfuck
>>109070220At last. We're so back.It looks great.
>>109070220I'm guessing either someone packaged something wrong or something is missing.
>>109070220doesn't look like that at all for me i think my packagers screwed up.
>>109070830Basedjacks are an evolved cancer mutation
>>109070220I just simply can not fathom how today's designers miss this simple thing in a consistently designed desktopnamely, that the window "material" and the panel material must be the samelook at the picin both versions the window matches the taskbar and the start menu, they are made of the same materialevery single modern desktop OS design has this one issue and my mind can not comprehend why
>>109078116I don't know it it's because Linux developers are just trying to be special snowflakes trying to make themselves different from Windows or if they're too out of their league to be capable of doing a like for like imitation of the Windows desktop interface 1 for 1
>>109078138windows has been like that since 8 too, this issue is not linux specific
>>109070453>PLASMA 67>PLASMA 67>PLASMA 67>PLASMA 67https://kde.org/announcements/plasma/6/6.7.0/
>>109078817>background apps support for things that don't use tray icons, notably for GNOME shit>virtual desktop overview is basically now GNOME's overviewBy 2030 you'll be able to 1:1 recreate GNOME in KDE on top of everything KDE offers, and GNOMEfags will still be begging their devs for basic human rights.
>>109070220the y2k zoomer nostalgia bait will bring zoomers over to gnu/linux.
I never stopped using Oxygen icons. Breeze icons are such dogshit they should't exist, even more so because if they are small they turn into wireframes which are much worse still. On the other hand Breeze plasma and window decorations were a huge improvement. The new Oxygen plasma theme looks really good tho.>Oxygen icons are also back in the regular KDE Frameworks release cycleThis is awesomesauce cuz while Oxygen icons work they aren't 100% up to date with new stuff like colour tints and several new utility and place icons.
>>109070220Actually looks kinda good. Although I would have to mess with it to make sure margins and paddings are not retarded by default.Would it still krash though?
>>109070917>>109071595>krashesold news, I switched to KDE from GNOME 49 because the way gnome is going really forced my hand and to my surprise have had zero issues. I was the harshest critic of KDE's instability for the longest time and I'm glad I was, they listened. I can even edit the panel now without krashes. Even move and reszie widgets. lol
>>109070830what type of north korean propaganda is this
But I like Breeze.
SIXEVEN
>>109080135>old n*krashes*
>>109070220It's a good first step into reconquering what was lost, but the fight won't be over until we get an officially supported, KDE-backed translucent window theme. Oxygen and Air are nice, but the windows never truly matched the Plasma widget theme.
>>109080135I tried moving the panel to the left but it krashedThat's what I get for using an older version of Plasma
>>109080576Kute!
>>109081233cosmic gave us one :)
>>109070220Oxygen was still littering its' unmaintained games, so this is a welcome refief.
>>109075301lol I'm agreeing with you, moron
>>109070502Settings -> Notifications -> go down to Additional Feedback and uncheck "show in notifications"
>>109075334This era of icons was absolute kino>>109078817>still no configurable touchpad gesturesThanks, but I'm sticking with GNOME.
>>109079690>breaks wrist with mandatory KDE four-finger touchpad swipe
>>109070220tried installing this shit on cachy like a month agodidnt work and made everything look shitty so i went back to mint
>>109081551How do you install something a month ago that wasn't available until 4 days ago?
>>109081555oh youre right it was this https://github.com/aeroshell-desktop/aerothemeplasmadont download it, shit fucking sucks
>>109081566
>>109081575baaaaaaaased
>>109081575Wow, a broken, inconsistent attempt at Aero! Year of the KDE desktop for sure this time, guys!
>>109079786it's true. that's what brought me to linux 2 years ago. I stayed for the FRΣΣDOM though.
so how does i installs it?
>>109081783>inconsistent attempt at AeroJust like the real thing
>Windows Vista era kinook ill reinstall
>>109070220They forgot these icons
>>109070220oxygen should be the default, looks much better than the castrated ugly flatshit and corporate design they use nowadays
>>109070220>You have no excuse anymore to not use Plasma. It looks unreal. But I still have reasons. Great step in the right direction, though. Hopefully it looks as good in reality.
>>109070220Finally. I'm going back to Plasma.
>>109070220This looks great, I can't wait for my distribution of choice (Debian) to ship this in 2030.
>>109083647Try 2027 Q3.
>>109078817And Fedora beat Arch in releasing it.
>>109083679happened with GNOME 40 too
>>109070220All light themes look like shit on kde
>>109083754Not anymore
>>109083779
>>109083779Looks nowhere near as good as oxygen. The Plasma widgets theme is very flat, comparatively. Almost no gloss, highlights, reflections or transparency. It's almost breeze. And the window theme would benefit of a similar transparency to match the Plasma theme.
>>109083815I would argue this would look better if the Plasma theme were also opaque, not the other way around. There's definitely room for improvement, but I'm just glad the flat shit era is over.
>oh no no no>look at the top of its headerwhy is gradient background broken here?
>>109083963Because System Settings is atrocious. It uses some panels for background that were not meant to be windows background.
>>109070220there's no oxygen theme in plasma
>>109084022Try using a distro that doesn't have AIDS.
>>109084022dnf install plasma-oxygen
dnf install plasma-oxygen
>>109084159>need to install a system package for a theme
>>109084182That's the consequence of using a shitty distro like FEDora with its "helpful" customizations. Oxygen is still included by default in the unmolested upstream release.
