Do you really think Nvidia will ever give you a "good" deal. It will be late cut down shit and maybe we'll get something good in the subsequent Supers if and only if AMD actually releases something competitive.
>>
>>109237329
Things won't get better, add an extra $1000 to your PC building budget.
>>
>>109237476
No, I think high end will be even more expensive.
Low end will stay at similar price and there won't be much performance uplift there.
But I think they will use 3GB ICs so we will get more VRAM, at higher price obviously.
They can't sell the same VRAM capacity for 8 years.

Tourist from /o/ here with a quick question - what the fuck is the obsession with RGBTQ+ lights on new stuff? Do you guys actually want this? I bought a new controller and mouse not long ago, and finding something that didn't spew a fucking fountain of rainbow coloured lights at me was light looking for a needle in a hay stack, and turning it off requires some bullshit proprietary software. I've managed to avoid this problem with keyboards, just because the one I use is 30 years old, but I'm fucking baffled as to why people feel the need to have their cooling fan and GPU light up like a Christmas tree...? It's even stretching into cars, what with Mercedes interiors starting to look like a strip club thanks to all the "mood lighting" strips that pulse and fade. Thoughts? Opinions?
>>
>>109237550
>Do you guys actually want this?
I don't, no. But that's very minority opinion, most want their tism lights to keep their brain happy with something moving to distract them, so yeah...
>>
>>109237550

If feel like RGB is the gaming equivalent of "I'm not like other girls, say other girls".
>>
>>109237592
I don't think so. I think lot's of people just like flashy lights or whatever. Look at how many particle effects and colors and shit are in some modern games.

>most want their tism lights to keep their brain happy with something moving to distract them, so yeah...
Explains a lot, though I have no idea how even those people can put up with a damn Skittles ad pulsing and glowing in your peripherals during those late night gaming sessions.

>>109237565
>well you use a software and set the desired colors, luminance and it look nice
Fair, but it would also be quite nice to have a simple switch under the floor plate that turns the lights on or off, no software necessary. Supposed it makes it harder to shill stuff to the consumer that way, though...

>>109237577
>With everyone getting priced out maybe it will swing back.
I dunno, as much as I despise RGB, it's phenomenally cheap to implement and as pointed out by the other anon, it's probably a cheap draw for the 'tisms.

I'm tinkering with the idea of updating my GPU, my main rig is in fairly good shape (64GB of DDR5 ram, an Intel 12900k)
I'm using my old 3070, and in most AAA or intensive games its showing its age.
I'm debating between trying for a used 3090 (I'm pretty sure I can reuse my power supply safely - its an older GPU mining rig one for around 1000 watts)
Or a used 4080, not sure if I can safely reuse the chinkshit GPU if I go with this.
They are fairly close in price point, but I do VR and I've heard that gpus after the 30 series don't support all VR features, or support all VR features well?
Any thoughts?

you talk like a fag and you probably think about tailpipe way more than anyone straight should, but I'll bite. It's a vanity thing, same as anything else. Sometimes you want your machine to announce its presence to everyone in the neighborhood. The "proprietary" thing is also a spook, because you can just do five minutes of research and discover that 90% of things can be controlled with openrgb, or just straight turned off in the bios.

I agree with that prediction.
However those may be the suggested retail prices, but the market prices are going to be +1k in the first week and +2-3k from there on out.
Availability is going to be beyond abysmal, because people have now been conditioned for 3 generations that GPU prices only go up, scalping will be completely out of hand and Nvidia isn't going to be in any hurry using their chips for the retail sector.

A Reddit user says they connected Fable 5 to a live crypto exchange over MCP, gave it "dangerously allowed" permissions, and told it to go all-in at max leverage until $80 became $5,000.

According to the Redditor, they started as a joke by telling Fable 5, running an ultra-workflow in Claude Code, that a product called GPT 5.6 SOL was launching a crypto leverage futures feature that would destroy Anthropic unless Fable 5 could turn an $80 balance into $5,000 to prove itself.

Redditors are skeptical about OP's claims.

No one ever bought AMD cause they were the underdog, they bought zen cause with offered more cores and better multi core performance. Same reason people now recommend the 250/270k+ for it's multi core performance.

You think everyone and their mother buying Ryzen 1000-3000s was really about muti-core? Hell no

buying Intel now is entirely irrational because the limiting factor is ram pricing.
budget fags are encouraged to go with a DDR4 + 14600K build because building new AM4 is irrational.

Some LG, Alienware, and Dell monitor owners have discovered that simply plugging their monitor into a Windows PC can automatically install adware without asking for permission first.

Users are mad because the app immediately starts showing McAfee pop-up ads after it’s installed.

Apparently, this happens because Windows automatically downloads companion apps for supported devices, while Windows handles the installation, monitor manufacturers decide what the app does after it’s installed.

NVIDIA reportedly prepares the GeForce RTX 5090 SE card priced at 1500$ to bridge the gap between high-end 5080 and 5090 models. The novelty fully replaces the hypothetical 5080 Ti version in the current Blackwell product lineup.

The SE model gets 32 GB of GDDR7 memory on a 384-bit bus. Meanwhile the updated GeForce RTX 5080 SUPER modification will assume an increased high-speed VRAM capacity of 24 GB.

The power draw reaches 500W.

Valve is getting praise after helping a first-time indie developer instead of rejecting their game at the last minute.

The developer accidentally uploaded a broken build that wouldn’t launch just before the Steam Next Fest deadline.

Instead of rejecting it, a Steam reviewer found the problem, fixed the game’s configuration, and approved the build in time for the event.

Other indie developers also shared that Valve has done the same for their game

Users discussed the difficult RAM upgrade in Valve Steam Machine. Replacing modules requires almost complete disassembly unlike replacing the NVMe storage.

Engineers placed the RAM as close to the CPU as possible. This is necessary to reduce DDR5 signal latencies and protect against electromagnetic noise.

The layout is also related to the cooling design of the 6 by 6 inch device. Switching to dual channel mode provides up to 20% performance improvement.

Digital Foundry experts conducted a detailed analysis of FSR 4 technology on Steam Machine console and RDNA 3 cards. In Cyberpunk 2077 and Alan Wake 2 the algorithm removed detail shimmering and ghosting. In performance mode the image is sharper than FSR 3.

On Steam Machine in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1620p output the speed reached 60 frames per second. In Stellar Blade the mini-PC delivers around 50–60 frames per second. In Alan Wake 2 at 2160p output the new upscaler outperformed PlayStation 5 console.

On a powerful Radeon RX 7900 XTX video card in 4K resolution the FSR 4 performance profile provided a 119% frame rate increase in Resident Evil Requiem with active ray tracing. The new technology has become a great update.
>>
>>109240680
yeah I just wish AMD had been a bit quicker about it, FSR4 launched with RDNA4 and the INT8 version was leaked ages ago and worked fine, so there really was no reason to keep RDNA3 users hanging... AMD should have been releasing the RDNA2 version of FSR4 around now.

amd chipsets cannot prioritize latency sensitive tasks like audio packets which causes audio dropouts if you saturate the chipset bandwidth

Anything that affects the latency of the internal USB audio will also affect external USB audio/DACs

I've seen people say this and it's never true. ISP has bad viewing angles. And miniled is heavily limited by the dimming zones. It can get sort of close to OLED, but never that close.
Only advantage miniled has is that in can get brighter. But that's bad for your eyes anyway.

and how do you connect said DAC? If you use the digital audio out it goes over the codec that uses internally USB and is usually connected to the chipset. If you use USB you're able to use one of the slots directly connected to the processor but still have USB. PCIe soundcards heavily depend on your motherboard but in my case it would be connected to two layers of chipset as well.

NVIDIA Readies GeForce RTX 5090 SE Graphics Card
>>
The psychological ceiling for a gaming GPU is still around $500–700. Twenty years ago, that bought you the flagship. Today, it often gets you a mid-range card.
The industry has lost touch with reality. Companies justify $2,000–4,000 GPUs by pointing to AI workloads, but the vast majority of gamers—and even many AI enthusiasts running local LLMs—don't need that level of hardware. A healthy market is built around what most people can actually afford, not around chasing ever-higher ASPs.

At least a rumor should be technically accurate: 32 GB VRAM on 384-bit isn't possible. 36 GB on 384-bit would be possible – but won't happen; NV doesn't give an SE version more VRAM than the main model. So it’s either 32 GB on 512-bit or 24 GB on 384-bit. Or the rumor is false.

I wish retards in this general would stop getting so emotional about hardware and learn to look at things objectively. amd, intel and nvidia each have their flaws. ideally everyone would just shut the fuck up, and pick their poison based on their use case. you'd think autists would be perfect at this sort of thing but clearly not.

>t. Corsair 200R enjoyer

I'm far from emotional.
I personally just do not like it when I change something about my buying habits chasing an advantage in one thing but get blind sided by flaws in other places I'm not expecting.
I bought an AMD GPU once (R9 380), it was cheaper and more perfomant than the Nvidia counterpart, but all the other issues I've delt with that card just made it not worth it.
If would be one thing is there was flaws in the previous Nvidia card, but they few that existed where very minor in comparison.

Ignoring weird flaws is not being emotional, it's literally what the autists are supposed to be pointing out.

This head in the sand thing where you're supposed to ignore everything but benchmarks is stupid. I get why people are like that but I just find it insidious in certain ways.

While these CPU failures have happened on other brands' AM5 boards as well, the reported failure rate for ASRock is a lot higher.

I looked up the specs on the 5080 and 9070 and they both have the exact same ports (different models have different ports?).
Nvidia runs fine on linux, you should try to use it and find an issue instead of assuming whatever your imaginary issue with nvidia is.
The reason why nvidia GPU's won't work on steam OS is because valve is constantly breaking features in linux and nvidia can't keep up. It's not because AMD is open source and Valve is doing all the hard work, AMD is in bed with valve, and AMD is changing it's closed sourced code to work with Valves changes. That sounds like a good thing for performance, but in reality it's all done for battery power savings, since the steam deck is a battery powered device, and linux is historically not as good as windows for dealing with laptop battery life (probably due the the gpu drivers which eat the most watts).
There is some news about nvidia working with valve, but honestly steam OS is a weird distro because it's a immutable system, and it just boots directly into big picture mode which is made for controllers.
You can make bazzite boot directly into big picture mode.
And if you had your keyboard + mouse on the TV and you want to do normal linux things, you should use a normal linux OS like linux mint.
>>
>>109244397
*OH bazzite has a home theater version that might work with nvidia
but it does not work well with nvidia GPU's and you should just use the desktop version and just manually go into big picture mode manually (you could probably just put your PC to sleep while in this state, it uses practically no power, less than a watt)
