I'm upgrading my wife's 8th gen i3 computer and keeping the ram and psu and her 6600 gpu. Just getting her the case she wants and an itx am4 board and a ryzen 5500. She was getting 48fps in fucking valheim. I figure like $180 to go from 4 threads 4 cores to 12 threads 6 cores plus the $100 gimmick case and it will feel like a brand new computer for her. Honestly it kind of will be. May not be as drastic as when I went from a 4th gen i7 to a 3600 but it will probably be pretty close to that jump. I'm also giving her an nvme as she had a boot sata ssd before. When am6/ddr6 comes out I'll replace the old machine in this case and color match and all that.
