Which makes sense because GetThreadTimes has a very poor accuracy, and I never noticed a difference between switching between steady clock and SDL's QPC function (I can switch between them with a macro).
The problem with the QPC is that when I was using a core 2 duo, it's not synchronized between the threads, so the timer would jump erroneously when comparing cross threads (I actually forgot what the exact issue was, it's been a long time).

Resurrected an old file tagging project I started a while ago.
The main tagging engine is written in C++ and using sqlite to keep a local DB of file tags. I did that a while ago but I never gotten beyond the basic CLI program. I wanted to make a nice GUI around that but kinda lost interest.

Now I cobbled up some scripts to automatically tag my files using gemma4 running locally. Works with both images and videos.
I then added a small script that pops up a window with files matching the tags you give it.
The whole thing works surprisingly well.

Thinking of cleaning that up and putting it on codeberg or something in case anyone else finds that useful.

Looking at datasheets, the middle and left look like they have standard 512 byte page sizes, but 16K block sizes compared to the 8K block sizes of the official cards, so hurray for new geometry.
The chip on the right is coming up as DDR4, which just looking at the package makes sense, but makes no sense for a memory card.

I feel like I'll start a new chapter of my life.

I think I'll read pic related. I bought a physical copy like a year or two ago and just skimmed through the first 150 - 200 pages. And I've been jumping around all the fucking place. From C++ to Rust, to Go, to Rust again, to C++ and to Rust and to Go again, and to Odin, recently. Learning a little bit here and a little bit there, but not fully understanding anything. I also editor-hop a fucking lot and I just... Other than general knowledge and maybe some understanding of programming language concepts (?), it is not taking me anywhere. And since I'm unemployed (I mean I have a day job but not related to the industry) and completely unemployable, since I have always refused to get into webdev and now, to vibecode. I decided maybe I should just embrace being a beginner and slowly read this fucking brick of a book and then maybe jump into some graphics programming and just, commit to one single thing.

I still haven't decided, though. I feel more comfortable right now with Rust than with C++ so I might stick with Rust but I also think that all this studying might be more worth it in C++, I don't know.

I'll also drop Emacs, Neovim and all the tranny tinkering and just use fucking vscode.
