>>109289167I love 1+ so much. I am so sad by this. That being said, nothing of real value is being lost here. It hurts to lose them in my gut. But they became overpriced garbage and lost their soul. Nothing does everything they should be doing. I can see Oppo just releasing midrange devices here in the USA. The Find X9 Ultra was a massive success in Europe. Sold almost as many as Samsung sold the S26 Ultra. Oppo's Reno and F series phones, especially the F31 Pro+ has a better camera than Sony's or iPhone's or the Pixel 10 Pro+. At $700 the 1+ devices just compete in the same market price bracket, but Oppo, the parent company, is looking at the poor sales, and what people are saying and decided it was time to end this. I think the Find X10 Pro+ will release to much fanfare here in the United States next year along with a line of their lower tier models being sold as unlocked devices where 1+ used to be by next August.

>>109289288>overpriced garbageNot sure you're right there mate. Yes, prices started to increase around the release of the OnePlus 9 Pro but the 13 & 15 were and are powerhouses that matched Samsung, Sony and other Android flagship phones at a cheaper cost. Yes, it may have been just a hundred bucks compared to other OEMs but still a saving not to be sniffed at. They were spanking phone and I'll miss the quirky features, like a pop up camera, IR blaster, etc. The writing was on the wall when the Oxygen OS codebase was merged with ColorOS and when the company started locking the MSM tool and charging customers to fix bricked phones. Shame.

>>109299054What link?>you can't say a Samsung official service centers reports are fakeNo, I have no proof that your claims are inaccurate but you don't have any proof they're genuine. Most of these service companies work for multiple OEM's, e.g the repair agents for Samsung in the UK also repair or service OnePlus phones. I wanted a screen replacement on a Fold 4. Samsung told me to go to an EE store in my area for the repair which was repaired by them in-house. They're not ran by Samsung or their staff. The things posted in /spg/ about the supposed low quality of manufacturing in India, China and the like don't match my experience with these companies. What people don't understand is that Samsung may install a local GM but the bulk of the management team will be from the home country. I've worked in two plants for Samsung and three for Sony and the management team were South Korean and Japanese/American respectively. These teams rigoursly inforced production standards including testing of product. FIF rates or product recall data for any company are a closely guarded secret and are not freely shared for people to post on social media. Post proof please to back up your claims. As for claim on the Samsung Forum professional moderation team; I'm still waiting for proof on this other than your opinion, social media or forums posts.

You're always going to have failures in field with any product, regardless of manufacturer. Even advanced production facilities ran by Samsung, Foxconn, Lucky Gold star, Sony or Mitsubishi will have product that leaves their factories that will fail within hours of switch on or within the first 30 days. Voyager 1 is out in the heavens, in interstellar space around 16 billions miles away from Earth and it is still working. Yes, its power supply is running down and some of its instruments have been shutdown to conserve power so the last few important experiments can continue to run. And here's the thing, if Voyager was engineered like most tech these days, with minimum cost BOM and glued surface mount manufacturing practices, it would have stopped working years ago and not the 59 years it's been operating. Getting a deal with Verizon, about $900 off of whatever phone I want and $20 off per line.Haven't had a phone bought through them since 2015m, always bought unlocked. I'm assuming they still put a bunch of bloatware on there. Anything I can do to remove it? If they "unlock it" will it still carry some stuff or will it be as if I bought it unlocked from Samsung? Hard to turn down $900 off of a flagship.

>>109303991Most carrier and stock firmware will have bloat that you can remove using ADB. >>109305387>>109305411Same person posting here, but I'll reply. As I have already said numerous times, even if it's posted on the Samsung Members forum, it's a forum post with no facts presented, just someone's personal opinion. There is no such thing as a Samsung Official Service Centre, ran and owned by Samsung. Samsung and other OEM's such as Oppo outsource the repairs of their phones under warranty to privately owned repair companies. Regarding your comment on the Engadget article, it is a properly reported piece that presents facts without hyperbole, including a statement issued by Samsung addressing the fault and detailing their plan to resolve it. Post facts please, not some opinion from social media with zero corroboration or proof.
>>109305799100% you are wrong, the Samsung forum posts are legitimate.
>>109305868You don't seem to understand or comprehend what I've wrote, so I'll explain. You, quoting a post from the Samsung Members Forum, as some kind of proof, would have the same veracity as a post quoted from this image board. Forum posts are personal opinions, not fact. You're confusing a post by a person on a forum owned by Samsung as the opinion or position of Samsung. What you're doing would be like blaming Mark Zuckerberg for a Facebook post and claiming it was his opinion, when it quite clearly wouldn't be. And again, a forum is a person's opinion, not fact.

>>109305942Don't bother trying to reason with them, your effort is wasted - they are the resident spammer and flame war starter and believe anything that makes Apple look good or Samsung (or any other Android OEM) look bad is a "fact" even if it's just some random post on reddit. Anything that disagrees with them is a "false" "opinion" that is written by "DA ANTI-iPHONE BAKER" (identified as anyone else who posts in the thread). They will literally read the first few words of an AI summary and claim it is "facts" that "prove" their bias, but if you actually read the summary it says the opposite of what they claim. Not a serious person, likely paid to spam and bait.
>>109305994This person is incorrect and I mean no disrespect but they need correcting. A green line on a mobile phone screen wouldn't be caused by a software upgrade, it's physical damage to the display panel caused by an impact with a hard surface, cable ribbon fault or even moisture ingress. I'd even lay the cause at heat damage from the SOC or battery ahead of a software error. A software issue wouldn't even been considered, it's physical damage or component failure, something that affects all OEM's, not just Samsung.
>>109306057debunk this video than, you can't. the software melts the connections from over heating. >>109298788
>>109306057And one more thing, an employee from a, "Samsung Official Service Center (sic)", wouldn't be testing a customer phone on large polystyrene packaging. The "technician" taking the video isn't very good at his job if he thinks a code error has caused this fault as the video seems to imply. A repair agent troubleshoots a fault in a methodical way on a test bench and not by laying the phone on TV packaging, video recording an issue that probably has more to do with the phone dropping on the floor because it was on an unstable base.

>>109306512>fanboyWhy the insults? I have no agenda, nor am I, "shilling" for any single manufacturer. I asked you to post proof and not conjecture. It is fact that this kind of damage is caused by physical damage, not software. Claiming that a software update heated up the phone, putting it under extreme load whilst flashing firmware is fanciful. A phone will reach the same temperatures during normal use. If a phone has been excessively used for an extended period of time, like a three year old S23 Ultra, under heavy load then this is most likely the cause of the physical damage and not a firmware update. And please, don't resort to name calling.
