this is late capitalism in the hardware space
bought a gpu? you have to babysit it so it doesn't self-immolate and destroy your house.
bought a screen? you have to babysit it so it doesn't gets permanently marked by it's own technology.
companies used to be responsible for what they put out for sale, but now, it's just meant to die a few months after warranty runs out and no one will do anything about it.
there are no more civic organized groups fighting for the benefit of the majority, government is a bunch of thugs profiting from every tweet sent.
things are really bad and soon only violence will be able to put things straight.

why do people act as if 27" is small

>>
>>109299748
because 27" is kind of small unless you are sitting at a normal distance. you cannot play games from your bed on a 27" screen for example. even 32" is a little too small

Is 32" overkill for a desktop monitor between 50-90cm from me eyes?

27 inch is just too small for 4k to run at 100% and to big for 200%. 5k would be ideal at that size

4K is more of a single player gaming resolution.
It will take a relatively strong PC to sustain 240 FPS at this resolution even with upscaling and frame generation.
It depends on the PC you have, the type of games you play, and the graphics settings you usually set.

If you're asking these questions, you probably don't play competitive multiplayer games much.

>But 4K for MMOs! Big UI real estate!
The bottleneck for MMOs is other people.

the S95H S99H (or a discount s95f) Samsung TV is THE Best gaymen display on the market
If you wanna step below this everything else will be a downgrade
you can downgrade to a tandem woled tv if you want
you could downgrade from a tandemwoled tv to a woled tv
after that you could downgrade to a qdoled monitor or tandemwoled monitor or a woled monitor

If you own anything else it will all be a second best and a step down, you will always be insecure and second guessing yourself

much like not owning a 5090

but if you are already at the top there is simply nothing more to strive for, you will finally be contempt in your life with a purchase you made

"Gee I wish I didnt by a 5090 and double my money to what they are now" -Said no one, ever

Same thing applies here, except Samsung has horrid QC and your shit might break at a random time so get warranty, but there is no where else to go

Path Tracing, it's the new standard of Raytracing that's being adopted and gradually becoming relevant.

9070XT is a bit like buying the GTX 1660 when the RTX 2060 is out.
Like, yeah, it's not a bad card, but you're making a choice to gimp yourself to only playing specific types of games from here on in, and that's fine if you're down with that. But, most times you'd be better off just waiting a year for the next series of GPUs.

Microsoft's new Surface Laptop Ultra might be one of the most interesting Windows PCs this year.

>NVIDIA RTX Spark platform
>ARM CPU + Blackwell RTX GPU on a single chip
>Up to 128GB of unified memory

>Windows on ARM gaming is about to get a serious test

I saw RTX Spark first hand at Computex 2026, and the local AI aspects performed beautifully with Hermes, OpenClaw, and creative apps like Photoshop and Premiere (in a controller environment).

Gaming performed well with both ARM and x86 based Steam games (Alan Wake 2 and Pragmata, respectively).

In a recent podcast that Jensen was on in paris, he mentioned that Nvidia wants to be more than just a AI/GPU company and did mention getting into publishing.

If Nvidia say purchased rockstar, yes they can afford it, could we eventually see an era where by owning Nvidia products you're granted in game items? Or possibly even having games that Nvidia publishes run specifically better on Nvidia based gpus or cpus?

Imagine if GTA 6 was published under nvidia's gaming brand. We could see a possibility that the game runs best on their RTX spark CPUs and Nvidia gpus. This would severely hurt AMD because AMD does not have the cash flow to do anything other than gpus and cpus. They cannot afford to be a publisher.

I've been having all sorts of pc issues over the last month. I've replaced the motherboard (from an asus z690 to an msi z790), replaced the cpu (13700 > 14900) and replaced the ram (faulty 64gb kit to a stable 16gb kit). Should I reinstall Windows?

I'm looking to potentially replace my ancient mobo, so I've been looking at AM5 CPUs. Gonna do a lot of gaming, but primarily older stuff and autistic simulators and whatnot. There'll definitely also be some web hosting, libvirt VMs, coding and general work like that. I moved most of my shit to Arch but still dual boot windows for some stuff that doesn't yet work on linux.

I wanted to go with a Ryzen 7, but I have no idea if there's a point in getting anything from the 3D lineup. I plan to keep the RTX2060 for a while longer and IDK if the 3D CPUs would bring any benefit or potentially cause more complexity and issues, especially under Linux?

Valve says the global memory shortage isn’t improving, warning that RAM and SSD prices are likely to keep rising.

“There’s no light at the end of the tunnel, honestly. It’s still getting worse.”

Valve says memory manufacturers are focusing on high-end chips for AI servers, leaving less supply for consumer hardware.

“Things that were commodity items a year or two ago… now you have to negotiate really hard just to secure a few thousand. And there are so many more people in line in front of you.”

Valve sees no improvement anytime soon.

Users verified AMD Ryzen 5 5500X3D processors from China priced at 155$. First benchmarks fully confirmed the authenticity of the chips. The received samples match factory specs.

The device features a 96 MB L3 cache. In games the processor runs 15% faster than the standard Ryzen 5 5600X model. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D version costs 125% more with minimal gap.

Gamers call the chip an excellent way to extend the life of the old AM4 platform. Authentic components from China allow users to wait for the AM6 socket release without extra costs.

Looking to upgrade, decided I wont do a full PC upgrade, just CPU cooler and case with a new GPU.

Current setup is 5800X downclocked, 3060TI 8gb, 64GB DDR4, bunch of storage and a FSP 750W 80+ Gold Hydro G Pro PSU.
I'm going to get a 5070TI.
I'm also going to get a Be Quiet Dark Rock pro 5 cooler one of the following cases:
Dark Base 701, 901 PRO or Shadow Base 800.
(Need these so I can increase CPU clocks back to normal without overheating so it doesn't cripple the 5070TI).

What I need:
- Please let me know what the hell pic related means. I put in my stuff into pc part picker, I got 2x M2 slots used and 1 PCIE for the GPU. Am I not getting full PCIE now or is it only for the second slot? B550 Tomhawk MSI mobo
- I'm going from 478W estimated power draw to 578W, do I need a new PSU? If so are the 850W ones from bequiet good?
- Which variant of the 5070TI do I get if I prefer silence over raw performance? (Got some curve editor thing going on with the 3060 to keep it cooler too.)
- What thermal paste? Do I need a special screw driver not to over-tighten?

It's going to be my first time properly building something for myself aside from replacing a GPU or some fans. By build I mean moving stuff from one case to the next and replacing a CPU cooler with paste.
Post is a bit long. sry

Thanks.

I'm from Hungary. Not a be quiet fetish, but I tried several brands for fans and they are the ones I was 100% satisfied with.
They are as good as the noctua ones without the weird dog-whistle high pitch noise.

I genuinely despise the overwhelming amount of choice there is in tech and how most of them are utter trash so unless you have infinite money you gotta go with something you can trust.

>Some newer Corsair ones or the Torrent from Fractal
If you name some I'm more than willing to look into them, but the beQuiet ones come with 3 of the higher end fans that I might just get too.
Both have mesh fronts so should be better than what I got now. (Deepcool CH510)
Also the Dark Base Pro 901 has space for an internal blue ray drive for the bottom. Already got an external drive, just considering it as a nice to have.

Strange thing about the fans, I like them better than Noctua as well but mostly because the low hum of the Noctua fans doesn't get filtered by my silent focused case. If you buy the regular Fractal Torrent you get 2-3 fans which work very well on their own.
1000W or higher is definitely more future proof and also more efficient, 750W might be cutting it close so I'd just get a larger one.
How's the used market where you live? I recently bought a 1200W Straight Power 11 for 120€.

Am I retarded for going with FSP power supplies As they conformal coat them?
I can get whatever PSU I want but always like FSP ones as it's pretty humid out here.

Would people still trust a Seasonic more?

What should I use?
>>
>>109307318
Asus ROG Strix XG256Q ($139) if you're in the US and you want the display to have a height-adjustable stand.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/D2vdnQ/asus-rog-strix-xg256q-245-1920-x-1080-180-hz-monitor-90lm07w0-b01ab0

There's plenty of more affordable options if you don't care about the stand, maybe the MSI MAG 244F ($99).

Get the FSP if it makes more sense to the climate in your region.

>be quiet! Pure Power 13 M
Okay that one seems not to have any "it explodes" reviews.
If it's needed for the 5070TI to be safe, I'll get one I guess. Some reviews say the cables are short though.

>>109307728
>doesn't get filtered by my silent focused case
Which one is this silence focused case?
The Fractal one is about as expensive as the mid priced beQuiet one, has the same open/mesh stuff just less filters, less massive, less options and poor fans based on reviews.
Just from the price/comparison alone it is dismissed in my mind.

Also any recommendations for 5070TI variant?
Any idea what that warning for the PCIE lane means exactly? Is it only for the bottom slot?

ASUS Prime is good enough for most people, but you need to undervolt it if you want to minimize the fan noise (and OC it if you want to retain stock performance).
PNY ARGB EPIC-X RGB OC if it's priced simlarly to the Prime.

The EU just killed DIY PCB design

With the new tax on imports (3€ per import of each category)
I now would have to pay 3€ for every PCB component that I have to solder at home
I can't buy PCB components in Germany because THEY ARE NOT EVEN MANUFACTURED HERE ANYWHERE ITS JUST CHINA AND AMERICA

So instead of 20 bucks for one prototype PCB with 20 different components
It's now 80€
Fuck you Ursula
>>
>>109307870
The ASUS Prime was the one I had my eyes on because online people say the MSI ones got coil whine.
Even though my current 3060TI is also an MSI Ventus 3X variant and it was fine.

Out of the 3 the MSI is a tiny bit more expensive, but all 3 are within margin of error in terms of price. I'll read up on reviews for the 3 you listed.

Thanks.

How the fuck is every PCB component a different category?
>>
>>109307992
I think he is talking about buying components from aliexpress, which individual parts are like $3 for a bag of 100 resistors or so.
If you bought a PCB from a chinese company like JLCPCB, the whole assembled PCB should be taxed as one parcel, so it wouldn't actually affect the whole PCB.
But I imagine, buying the parts from JLCPCB in bulk is probably more expensive than buying a plastic bag of possible defects from on aliexpress.
I don't live in the EU, and I have not read the law, but there are stores on aliexpress where everything you buy is packed into one cardboard box, I wonder if that's affected.

I use an old Define R5 with an undervolted 3080Ti, a slightly overclocked 9900K and 3 1000RPM bequiet fans. It gets somewhat hot but doesn't throttle because of the thermals, worst case scenario is x265 encoding but that might be because of my DR Pro 4 cooler which is kinda shit.
>>109307842
>poor fans based on reviews
Which one are you talking about? The Torrent is 5 years old but their other cases are at the top regarding thermals.
https://gamersnexus.net/cases/best-pc-cases-2025-75-200-airflow-thermals-cable-management-budget#best-overall-case
The Meshify 3 is 120€ in Germany.
>>
>>109307922
>>109308080
it's per category, if you're lucky and the components are all named "pc parts" or some shit you pay 3€ for the whole package.
still annoying as fuck, I buy most of my books from the US because you mostly get the dogshit UK ones here in Germany and ebay wants 3,42€ now for every order.
>>
>>109308080
You can buy as many items of the same category without having to pay more in tariffs. The EU notes as much themselves.

>if you buy 5 T-shirts, a €3 customs duty will be applied (as all T-shirts fall under the same tariff classification)
>if you buy 3 T-shirts and a watch, a €6 customs duty will be applied (as the T-shirts and the watch fall under two different tariff classifications)

AFAIK, the categories they use are the six-digit HS codes. For example:

>853340: Electrical variable resistors, incl. rheostats and potentiometers (excl. wirewound variable resistors and heating resistors)
>854231: Electronic integrated circuits as processors and controllers, whether or not combined with memories, converters, logic circuits, amplifiers, clock and timing circuits, or other circuits

If you live near a Microcenter, their CPU / motherboard / memory bundle could help you add a 9070 XT to the build.
Newegg generally offers the next best CPU or motherboard bundles..
It's all about financial damage limitation.
If you can carry over some older SSDs and HDDs, do that as well.

I'm in the market for a new monitor and I've come to the conclusion that I really don't care about the specs all too much as I'm sure it'll be better than what I'm currently using. I unironically want a (24/27 inch) monitor with good/serviceable built-in speakers; any suggestions? I really wanna get my setup to as few pieces as possible.
I'm still using a Dell u2412m that I got over a decade ago that has burn-in; I pretty much can't tell the difference of anything more than 30fps, I'm not too picky on colours or viewing angles given what I've been using all these years. I'm thinking mini-LED or IPS? I don't want to deal with OLED burn-in. Any suggestions?

Im getting the VGA (white) light on my motherboard which google says means my graphics card is the problem. But my graphics card will also emit a red light if its not getting power or not plugged in properly and the light is off. So the motherboard says the graphics card is the problem but the graphics card is telling me its getting power. What else could it be? Power unit? Cable?

okay i got logitech mx mechanical wireless keyboard. some mchose wireless mouse i forgor which one.

now i am heavily debating snagging an ultra wide monitor at walmart but i think the lowest they have is like 3180 x 2160 at 34" is that a meme? i heard anything less than 4k on 34" is a meme. maybe ill wait for monitor tech to evolve so i can get a 4k 34" 180hz monitor for cheap.

also want wireless headphones but i have sennheiser hd6xx headphones already i considered airpods max 2 but probably a meme. i could also just use my macbook speakers.

wireless is probably a meme but im keeping all of my wired peripherals in case this stuff is a meme and/or dies on me. maybe im just a dumb retarded consumer but yeah.

I am currently rocking a 14900k with 32gb of DDR4. I managed to buy 32gb of DDR5 for really cheap from my friend (basically what he paid for it a year ago). Should I go AMD or just grab a new Z790 DDR5 motherboard and keep my 14900i? Or maybe just flip the DDR5? I mainly game.

most people dont see the dip because they are playing low fps
this is joofooses whole schtck
btw game updates has introduced the same amdip into the game in general that effected even his intel build
so hes 50/50 schizophrenic
the real truth is some games x3d is better and in some titles intel is still better, and this is tuned
non tuned x3d is just better
overall? i bet barely matters if you have the best of each to begin with

if you wanna find out the truth you have to build two systems and test it yourself
