Krea2 edit loras are the best community attempt to ram edit capability into a non-edit model so far but no Klein is still miles ahead and it's delusional to expect otherwise.
BFL most probably did a proper finetune on millions of edit pairs. The community attempts are at most a few thousand pairs. I think the Qwen 3 VL encoding stuff might be giving it some boost but it is still going to be limited.

When you caption an image as "a woman, red hair, blue dress," you are acting like the model needs those words to see the picture but it doesn't. The model already sees the red hair, the shape of the dress, colors, face, etc etc.
The caption it's a label stuck on top of something the model already understood but isn't teaching the model to see.
