Is there a place like TeamBlind that is actually active and good? Blind is like a shadow of its former self.
nothing can blackpill you as hard as going through an airportamerica is unironically over lmao
>wife covers expenses>man investsthis is actually a pragmatic split, since women mentally can't handle anything other than the most immediate demanding costsI haven't been able to get mine to invest or save anything on her own so I just find ways to get her to cover more of the weekly/monthly costs so I can invest more of the excess
>>109458229I'm a fat man so it's always great to have those TSA guys fondle my belly because I'm obviously hiding stuff. It's been happening for like 15 years.

I have not read a single PR I have approved since January.
Why are there so many schizo anons in here?
>coworker always sending me shit like "This guy is really not happy, and he's getting mad in the email."and then the email ends up being like"Hey X, I'm not able to view this but I want to for Y, could you let me know how I can get access?" He does this to almost every fucking request and makes them sound like 20x worse than it is. Maybe it's something mental or some mind game but honestly it makes me pretty irritated to be dealing with him.
>>109458473I guess your coworker is a narcissist

>>109458007Good for you. I tried this in the past and it amounted to nothing. I'm tired of this guy micromanaging shit, questioning my feeback on things he has absolutely no idea and taking other's word over mine by default so I just do the bare minimum while making sure that if something fails it backfires to him.
>>109458913yep because corpo wants you to do more than your job description at all times
>>109458913Basically. The old boomer work mantras stopped mattering after 2008. Extra effort is no longer rewarded. Worse, a lot of companies are high on their own bullshit and try and pull the "exceeding expectations is actually meeting expectations" line.
>>109457122I don't remember why they had access, it wasn't something my team owned but the request came to us. We told them to fuck off and removed that metric from the dashboards

Who is your most hated coworker? I work with this ladder climbing yuppy motherfucker who wants to jam AI shit into everything and is always sticking his fucking nose into other people's projects instead of just doing his own work. Regularly submitting AI generated MRs that I close because there's no ticket associated with it and there's been no engineering discussion around the alleged "issues" that his chatbot is trying to fix. Can tell this asshole is just looking for a promotion
>>109459483I'm >>109458473He's currently being passive aggressive and shit about another issue even though I gave him the solution like multiple times before (verbally fine that's my fault). Makes it sound like I fucked up though in his email and it's pissing me off since it's an edge case. I really hate this fag so much.

I'm getting so burnt out from my job. I came back from a 2 week vacation, caught up in 2 hours and everyone's still nagging me with the same shit that fucking killed my spirit.

>>109460455It's so annoying since it ends up being an email anyways.
>>109459483I did some work for a neighboring team once "on loan" because the project touched on some services my team owned, and that team's manager very obviously hated my team's manager and took it out on me. He'd do stuff like schedule meetings with me at 8 AM my time only a couple hours in advance, and when I predictably didn't show up, he'd send an email to me, my manager, and my skip manager saying "Bringing it to your attention that Anon didn't show up for another project important meeting today." Eventually he got fired (really don't know why he thought anything else would happen) but it made my life hell for a couple months and all because this douchebag had a vendetta against someone else and I got caught in the crossfire.
>>109460524Skin color?
>>109460541He was white. If you want my worst jeet coworker, it was probably the guy on another neighboring team who got mad because I sent his last minute low quality quality PR back for a rework and then joined nearly every PR I opened for the next two months and opened "urgent" comments nitpicking shit like variable names so I couldn't merge unless I either got his explicit approval or removed him as a reviewer (which was frowned upon). After a month I told my manager and he said to just remove him, but the jeet would just re-add himself. He didn't end up getting fired but got reassigned to a different org (that was fully jeeted and presumably tolerated shit like that). Shit never made sense to me until I learned about izzat, and now I assume he felt making my life hell was the only way to recover his izzat after I told him to fix his code.

I've done bits and parts of it but nobody even does anything with the reports or powerpoints I make so it's driving me insane because I do all this work that's out of scope and they do NOTHING. Doesn't help that a lot of my work people send me incomplete data and it's like "idk anon go ask that group" I go ask that group and I get left on read or it's a long process to request the data and it's like well whateverrr
>>109464633>Shaded areas indicate U.S. recessionsSo if we're at lower job growth than the shaded area then...
>Do a process for a couple of years >In an audit meeting>suddenly my boss boss has a problem with it despite signing off on it years ago. >can't really contradict him but the auditor is like "...but anons been already doing this?"How do I prevent this from happening in the future?
>>109469232This audit meeting is sorta frustrating me. I can't tell if my team is being dense but the audit is asking a question and my team is answering with a completely separate answer that's not even related to it. I don't even know if it's mind games because it's literally not even an issue if they know about a specific thing.
>>109469123Data what?If you're talking about analyst you're basically the jack of all trades of the data world. You do everything and none of it is supposed to be as good as a dedicated guy would do it but they don't want to waste a dedicated guy's time on it. You're doing decks and presentations (not as good as a CSM), scripts for automated reporting (not a good as an AE), some internal data sources for the team (not as good as a DE), dashboards (not as good as a BI guy), train some basic model (not as good as a DS) etc. A lot of ad hoc P0 shit and unhinged VPs DMing you at 5pm with a forward to a 20 message slack thread and ask "plz address asap". You can use this as a start to expand into anything in data but you probably will be putting extra hours to build up the hard skills and do some technical shit that nobody asked for but needs to be done to have a portfolio. If you're talking about engineer, well for one entry level positions do not exist, but that is not an AI thing, they did not exist before AI either, people mostly switched over either from DA/DS (who ended up doing a lot of automation work, that includes me) or from SWE (mostly backenders who ended up doing a lot of queue services and streaming and shit like that). In general it's OK, the heyday of big data/ML hype is long gone but you can still make OK money and decent experience. Obviously AI has broadened the scope a lot. I am mostly a Databricks and Airflow guy but these days I sometimes have to stand up an internal Fastapi service or configure Grafana dashboards and alerts or fill Terragrunt templates or shit like that.
wtf i got back from my vacation on monday and i feel even more tired now

We arent like losing money or anything so idk why its happening but now i feel like there's chances for impending layoffs or something and it's just so tiresome. Time to look for a new job I guess
>>109469994its ludover
>>109469558i didn't take any time off besides one single day when I had to do like 5 appointments in a row various places in my first calendar year of work. Was closer to 18 months but started later in the year and first week off was march or so. But I didnt have any burnout issues before and ever since every week off I have the more burnt out I feel after returning. It's gotten really really bad after the last couple weeks
>>109469331>If you're talking about analyst you're basically the jack of all trades of the data worldfuck that's what I essentially do but I'm not even the data department. nvm then

>>109469228A recession == 2 consecutive quarters of GDP growthGDP is growing bigly rn because of all the billions being spent on AI.GDP is a pretty shitty proxy for the economy tbqh, China always has super high GDP growth because the local governments take out loans to build massive infrastructure projects and that counts as GDP

>>109468757probably whatever i happen into as a matter of luck, in the face of bills and not wanting to be homeless.or going back to school for something that is actually in demand.im hoping the small chance that i somehow survive all the layoffs and make a real career out of this is the actual thing that happens. very doubtful though. with AI people can just hire their friends and family first no matter how incompetent they are. the field is already 50% indians hiring their cousins and pretending theyre not forming ethnic enclaves within companies.living on welfare might be the smart decision.
>>109470211want my advice, having been homeless before in the past?
Anyone have an issue where in team meetings that things keep going in a fucking circle and the solution ends up being WAY overcomplicated for the problem because people can't stop opening their fucking mouth?
>>109470224>because people can't stop opening their fucking mouth?every. single. meeting.i am so tired
>>109470224It's really not that complicated. But yeah, circular arguments, people who think they just have to win, I've encountered these issues in life.>>109470229It's so true. I don't want any of us to be tired
>>109470224>>109470229>>109470233I didn't even know there's a proper term (Bikeshedding) for this but holy fuck why do these people make a simple X or Y into ohhh we should relook at this process and now maybe we should plot everything on X and Y and get senior leadership to weigh in on it now it's a powerpoint, oh now it's a proof of concept and it's like holy fucking shit....
>>109470254I've heard bikeshedding before. It's been around years.Sometimes it's good to get another opinion on something. It's not always bikeshedding.
>>109470224for me it's meetings are twice as long as they should be because every time someone talks for the first time they need to do 5 minutes of pointless small talk. SHUT UP JUST SAY WHAT YOURE WORKING ON AND GET OUT
>>109470219ill read your advice. information from someone whos been there is useful.being homeless probably actually sucks but as far as i understand there are programs to get you on your feet if you arent a junkie.id like to distance myself from junkies as much as possible. all those random super violent murders that show up in the local paper are often junkies which they only describe as "had a history of mental health issues" while neglecting to mention they were usually long term tweakers. tweakers and benzo addicts are both prone to random acts of random extreme violence.pretty much need to get out of the city to stay away from populations like this.
>>109470278That's not how a sustainable team operates. The social small stuff is a part of the process. The small talk may not be as pointless as you think.
>>109470267Actually maybe it's not bikeshedding for my instance... it's usually>Should we do X or Y?>Hmm let's do X.>random coworker (always one of the two usual suspects): HMMM IM THINKING ABOUT X, WHAT IF THIS HAPPENS? IVE BEEN WRITING ABOUT THIS AND LIKE WE SHOULD PROBABLY REVIEW Y TOO. HMM IM THINKING IF WE DO X WE'RE PROBABLY GOING TO DO UNRELATED ABCDEFG that has nothing to do with X but I'm just going to say it anyways. oh great now it's a fucking boatload of verbal tasks I have to know and maintain and keep track of because you fucker can't keep your mouth shut and who knows if they'll do anything with it or if it's just busy work once fucking again.FUCK YOU STEVE.
>>109470289Rule 1: Junkie leaves your vocabulary starting today. You will adopt the "mind your own business protocol" - What this means is, if someone is not directly bothering you, you shut the fuck up about it and mind your own fucking business.Rule 2: Avoid being homeless. It does suck. But if you really want to try it, you should become a leftist, very fast. Because right wingers are happy to see you die.Rule 3: See point 1. Mind your own fucking business.>Tweakers benzo addict: Again see rule 1.>Need to get away from the cityYou are delusional and you are stupid. But you can change. I have hope. If you adopt this framework, I really do believe it might help you.
>>109470291>>109470278desu I think time and place. I've had people take up 10-20mins in a team meeting because it's one of the more senior management talking about his weekend and there's at least 1 or 2 guys sucking him off.
>get a message on phone from my tech lead asking if something is wrong with IT because he lost all access>check slack, deactivated>50% of the US subsidiary gutted>year later 60%>followed by 30%What worker rights / protection if any do you have in your country? This guy was pretty much Jesus in my team and I thought they'd fire the entire teambefore letting this guy go.I'm currently taking a year off for paternity leave and this has got me thinking about what happened post-covid.My contract is with our Japan entity and I am also in the country, but I work exclusively for the US subsidiary. On this island, firing anyone is almost impossible. Big international firms sometimes do and they simply take the hit by giving out enormous severance pay. Unless you're FAGMAN, the worst most companies can do is "bully" you into quitting. The worst my company has done was to forcibly transfer people into other subsidiaries which were better off financially, some of which required knowledge of Japanese which kind of falls into the bullying category, but the company does provide free language learning support.
A running theme with these people is that disrespect religion on purpose. Stop doing that. Also don't give the people who do it attention. I don't know why they do it, and why it's a running theme around me, but it's a part of what they do.
>>109470326>Junkie leaves your vocabulary starting todayno.>directly bothering youjunkies do directly bother me. including but not limited to: breaking into my apartment and almost getting shot, littering everywhere, throwing needles (provided for free by the city) everywhere including children's parks, going through my trash, making the city im from a total shithole, asking me for money if i go downtown even for 3 minutes.you are also missing the point that you can mind your own business completely and get murdered by a random junkie you have never met before. plenty of famous cases in the news to look at. plenty of non famous cases in your local paper if you happen to bother reading it.im guessing this struck a nerve because you were or are one. i dont hate people legitimately down on their luck, but the malicious ones need to be in prison. there are a lot of very malicious and evil ones. whether its from frying their brain with drugs, i dont care. they need to kick the habit in prison and leave everyone else alone.if you are baiting well done it read like a proper retarded college leftist but if not, well done because i wasted my time replying to some bleeding heart 19 year old dipshit.
>>109470402You have refused the framework. I offered it to you, you denied it. Good luck.
Should I make a formal complaint to HR if the Indians at work all constantly misspell my name on purpose?

>>109470411HR will always be Pro indian and anti white so ..... probably not.
>>109470407your framework doesnt apply to me since they bother me directly though. it also doesnt seem like much of a framework but rather a set of gay, naive opinions held in the form of an attack on me for my opinion.
