If you're talking about analyst you're basically the jack of all trades of the data world. You do everything and none of it is supposed to be as good as a dedicated guy would do it but they don't want to waste a dedicated guy's time on it. You're doing decks and presentations (not as good as a CSM), scripts for automated reporting (not a good as an AE), some internal data sources for the team (not as good as a DE), dashboards (not as good as a BI guy), train some basic model (not as good as a DS) etc. A lot of ad hoc P0 shit and unhinged VPs DMing you at 5pm with a forward to a 20 message slack thread and ask "plz address asap". You can use this as a start to expand into anything in data but you probably will be putting extra hours to build up the hard skills and do some technical shit that nobody asked for but needs to be done to have a portfolio.
If you're talking about engineer, well for one entry level positions do not exist, but that is not an AI thing, they did not exist before AI either, people mostly switched over either from DA/DS (who ended up doing a lot of automation work, that includes me) or from SWE (mostly backenders who ended up doing a lot of queue services and streaming and shit like that). In general it's OK, the heyday of big data/ML hype is long gone but you can still make OK money and decent experience. Obviously AI
has broadened the scope a lot. I am mostly a Databricks and Airflow guy but these days I sometimes have to stand up an internal Fastapi service or configure Grafana dashboards and alerts or fill Terragrunt templates or shit like that.

Was closer to 18 months but started later in the year and first week off was march or so. On this island, firing anyone is almost impossible. Big international firms sometimes do and they simply take the hit by giving out enormous severance pay. Unless you're FAGMAN, the worst most companies can do is "bully" you into quitting. The worst my company has done was to forcibly transfer people into other subsidiaries which were better off financially, some of which required knowledge of Japanese which kind of falls into the bullying category, but the company does provide free language learning support.

A running theme with these people is that disrespect religion on purpose. Stop doing that. Also don't give the people who do it attention. I don't know why they do it, and why it's a running theme around me, but it's a part of what they do.
