EQ changes the graph drastically, invalidating 1, also sounds like shit compared to OG tuning invalidating 2.

I needed a dac for under $500 but it's for a speaker amp not iems
But there's no speaker general so I'm just posting it here
Ended up going with the schiit mimir cause it has the 3 band eq and preamp capabilities so that saves me 100 bucks on a dedicated eq

I really liked the look and the cable of last threads orange Hiby Yula iems, are they worth a purchase? I have only ever tried one iems, KZ ATE and I like their sound. I like a bit warmer sound with bass. I listen to some music and play shooters with iems. My budget is around 50 euros Yulas would cost. Are there other orange iems that would fit my preference and budget?

I'm using motu m4 for my 2.1 system and doing all the processing in APO. Since you're talking about EQ boards you probably won't be using an OS, minidsp is made for that purpose. Even a DSP dongle would do this job, but I assume you need analog inputs.

For speakers you have to eq them for your room not just for your ears. I have like 5000 dollar speakers but they still need to be eqed
>>
>>109509064
Ya I'm hoping having the eq on the dac will eliminate some of the clipping I was having using a dedicated eq deck. I'm kind of replacing a few items at once here and wanted a good all rounder that would be both a really good dac, a good preamp and a good eq. I had a 6 band eq before but found the 6 band was a bit too much for what I actually needed, adding a couple extra knobs that could have been condensed a bit.

As if iemg can afford big rooms and listening in the far field. Most people are using cheap monitors in a tiny ass room... The listening position in the nearfield is mostly direct sound. You can fix the on-axis response using anechoic data, and you're set.

meze albo should be fine, its good practice to buy pack or more of different eartips shapes so u can try them but usually what is in the box is fine for me. Othe thing is vents, sometimes if IEM isnt vented pressure inside ear canal will build up

>aeon core might be closer to actual harman OE 2018 because they were using similar ear for measurements
that's interesting
Dan Clark apparently said that it's much easier to make a more colorful headphone than neutral because with neutral one any coloration will stand out. And as we know there's no universal neutral for headphones... Both resolve and listener reinforced that opinion based on their experience with equalizing headphones to their HRTF using in-ear mics.
Maybe that's why all harman targets are so V-shaped? because people will prefer standardized colored target vs poorly fitting "neutral". There also was a study with similar conclusions.

60 IQ analogy
Honestly your retardation really does stem from your inability to comprehend that EQ is indistinguishable from analog tuning. It's understandable that you can't understand it but it's a simple truth.
But there's also a second part where you think that "well made IEM" is a thing. The chances that you find an IEM that will fit your HRTF AND will not have destructive length modes is extremely low. With how clueless companies are about IEM tuning I'd say zero even.
>>
>>109514619

>>109514619
>Linsoul Avant (prototype)
>Linsoul Avant—the first IEM I've ever seen simply under the Linsoul name—delivers prominent, rounded-feeling bass that seems to prioritize sub-bass rumble over mid-bass body. This is accompanied by slightly scooped low-center mids and a forward upper treble. Which is to say... it's an IEM in 2026. Not much different here, to my ear, from whatever else is available on the market (especially from other Linsoul brands).
>Ergonomically, the shell feels a bit large and suffers from noticeable driver flex upon insertion. Ultimately, it feels like a very typical IEM that does little to make itself distinct in a crowded market, which is a bit of a shame considering I was expecting the first "Linsoul in name" product to offer a bit more universality and refinement than I felt it ultimately had.

You see your analogy doesn't deserve more than couple of words of dismissal so there rest of my answer actually is not about it, I was talking more about the overall state of your retardation and its source
ignorance is basically your main problem
we can also talk about why do you think you need analogy in the first place or why do you think point you were trying to convey was actually good or worth bringing up.

interesting. so why are you bickering anyway? you're still talking to multiple anons and now you're fixated on me.
you successfully wormed your way out of the interaction you were probably losing between you and the other anons and now I'm the scapegoat.
this general would be great if you didn't keep trying to turn it into a shit throwing fest with your drama, honestly. plus only a schizo like you thinks they know exactly who they're talking to lol

i didn't write it i just observed that you didn't understand/appreciate all of it.
the point of the analogy seems to be just what i said and i think it explains a good amount of these arguments. even if it's just a cope for me specifically to cope over my deafness and skill issues or whatever you're imagining it's still worth bringing up

no it's not
At least length modes and fit should be compensated for cause otherwise you aren't even listening to something close to intended tuning. Or do you need a food analogy to understand that?

Audiophiles say this but I've only ever seen outright bad mixes on dubplates made for particular sound systems(so not even meant to be played on something neutral) and in metal. Most music is good actually, it's the headphones that are the problem most of the time.
>>
>>109515530
much of that shit maybe isnt bad mixed but its just flat and boring. If good IEMs or headpos are tingling ur brain with details u want them more and more. And then comes modern spotify top100 music that sound like shit because it was made for phone speakers and so on so there isnt really much going on.

I like that kind of popular music like EDM, rap, pop but with less capable devices. Maybe that is why hd600 series is so beloved, it makes u listen to music.
By good audiophile music I mean music that has lots of stuff in it, like maybe concert hall recording, acoustic music, maybe even electronic music in some cases. Music that can push ur system and that works well with detailed IEMs or planar headphones.

I have lot of problems with bass quantity. Regardless of iem or headpos that i am using its never just right, one song might be ok, next might be too much, next might be too little. Some of it really work well if that 1 iem i have but some of it boomy and bleeds into midrange. Aprat from changing EQ profile for every song I don't think there is any solution

>names music that has no stuff in it
Every time. Music should be extremely dense to reveal the tuning flaws. The opposite of audiophile music, which hides the flaws. That music isn't made for phones, it's just headphones are worse than phones.
>>
>>109515729
>Maybe that is why hd600 series is so beloved
it's beloved because it's relatively non expensive, DF tuned headphone with a lot of parts available for maintenance .It sounds mostly neutral for most people. Its only problem is no bass

I meant something like that
https://youtu.be/8APog61kTwQ?si=XTblGhfqB_633lWJ
For me there is lots of stuff here and if headphones isn't good for the job lots of details gets smeared.
For me dense music is shit like dubstep or edm and I must say, IEMs feels better for that, maybe due to punchier bass or maybe due to more predictable higher frequencies so I have all excitement I need without worrying about high fq peaks like with headphones.

>>109515821
It's beloved because it's easy listen, u can play iphone recording of street musician and it won't be like u are missing too much compared to properly recorded song. But if I use this with recording form link above it would be fine but it can be much better with more detail oriented headphones or items. Bass is problematic but with newer Sennheisers and other dds it's looks like they fixed it.

anons, what would be a solid upgrade to go from a Moondrop lan?
>>
>>109513105
But it's not ergonomic at all, just a bulky shell with supposedly universal design. No contouring at all.
I meant something like Aful Explorer that has curved nozzles, anti-tragus catches and so on, but unlike Aful, which is still contoured with most ears in mind, it has to be even more aggresively contoured to really resemble something custom-molded which happens to be universal.

>>
>>109517652
That's what I'm talking about. Not the most comfortable fit for the majority of people like Aful, but more of an edge case offered as a commercial product.
Something that 10% of the population, after shoving into their ears, would say:
>holy fuck it's perfect, custom iems are a scam
while the remaining 90% would say:
>unusable shit, uncomfortable as fuck, total waste of money
I want to give it a try and hopefully hit the lucky 10%, knowing that the odds are against me. I want only the most contoured pos that for outsiders look like a medical product and not earphones. The key only for chosen ears, still technically universal, but just one step from being custom.

Yeah, there's literally no explanation why smooth treble achieved by hardware tuning is any different from software tuning. And it's not even from the driver, he had to plug a hole in the treble with different tips, so it's really all placebo. At least he did say he's using deep insertion, so he's at least trying to align his own peak with 8k, but with how insecure the fit on them is it's probably placebo too.
