/iemg/ Dogma Check
Tired of the hivemind? Here’s your prescribed sanity dose:

>Crinacle is not your priest.
Rankings are a guide, not divine scripture. Your ears > his spreadsheet.

>Harman and JM-1 ≠ perfect.
It’s a preference curve, not a law of physics. Some genres need deviation.

>Chi-Fi isn’t magic.
Great value, yes. Immune to QC issues and hype cycles? Nope.

>Graphs are not sound.
They don’t show staging, dynamics, or fit. Use your ears, not just squigs.

>BA ≠ metallic, DD ≠ perfect.
Implementation matters more than driver type. Always has.

>Meme sets aren’t the whole hobby.
If it’s not shilled 24/7, it might still be good. It's highly encouraged to form an original opinion.

>Disagreeing ≠ cope or deaf.
Let people like what they like without foaming at the mouth.

>Loud posts =/= smart takes.
Confidence without experience is just noise. Show graphs, impressions, or both.

>Cognitive dissonance.
When you're presented with a truth that threatens your entire perception of the world around you, your brain will simply refuse to process it.

This has been your scheduled break from pos groupthink.

>>
>>109682928
'Techs'? I don't really get what you mean. I haven't used my Darlings in many months now, although I'm still using Tanchjim brand IEMs. I still love those things, with all their quirks. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to IEMs. Softears' liquid silicone tips (both UCs and UTs) are nice. I kind of want to try other wide bore liquid silicone+metal tips. I know I can get a pair of Tangzu's Tang Sancai brass tips for less than $5 shipped at least.

Anyone got any thoughts and opinions on the Kiwi Ears Septet? Looking to possibly get them as my first Iems for PC gaymen and general listening across a bunch of different music genres
>>
>>109685156
Look into and get Astral instead
>>
>>109685192
Elaborate on why you recommend these instead please
>>
>>109685217
Septet being a quadbrid means it's relying on 4 different types of drivers to cover specific ranges of frequencies, which makes it a meme.
Astral only has 1DD+6BAs so it's a better general purpose IEM to cover your bases since you mentioned gaming and a bunch of different music genres being what you'll throw at it.
For gaming, you don't really want the IEM with the most treble energy or the most microscopic detail, you want separation + imaging + tonal balance + positional information without fatigue after long-term usage.
Not saying Septet or is worse, it's just a set for when you want to mostly listen critically and want maximum texture, air and microdetails.
Since you considered Septet, you'd benefit more from Astrals instead by stretching your budget by only like $50.
For your first purchase, you don't wanna fuck around with cheaper sets, this will make a better impression and set a bar to where you probably won't even need an "upgrade" afterwards.

Yeah, FiiO KA13 is dog shit.
got a bunch of fucking crackling in the audio when i use my Browser and playing vidya.

No, bliss is having the ability to eq the high-frequency area above 6 kHz, and then using bass and treble shelf filters to make preference adjustments based on the material you are listening to.
