How would they accomplish such a feat, if there is not yet internet IDs? And, if you used a real verifiable identity in the first place, then you're just retarded cattle, but you could still make an account, up until recently if you wanted under an anonymous one. You can still possible create pictures and the like using AI like the scammers do, if you really wanted an account.

My account that's been older than Musk's reign over Xitter got permanently suspended over "inauthentic behavior", automatically, by a bot. And the appeals are read by a bot. I guess I have to thank him for stopping me from using this cesspit.
By the way, if you're suspended, you cannot retrieve your account data despite it clearly being on X's servers, which I believe is a GDPR violation. It would be a shame if the EU took notice and inconvenienced Elon by fining him over it.

Every social media will fuck you over if the government asks for data because they don't want to have their servers seized for years while the government pretends to investigate. They all run on top of AWS which knows what you're connecting to and when, that's enough to identify you. That SMS login code? The government saves it and knows where you registered. It's safer to assume it's all monitored when you post on social media. I would settle for having an app free of Indians as a small price to pay.
