I thought I could install the Nvidia app without needing telemetry, but nvcleanstall says I need it for 591.74?
>>
>>109762727
sir you need telemetry, stop using NVcleanstall sir, you get better frame times with full install
>>
>>109762727
I don't know what they define telemetry as but you can log into the app and it'll obviously start running some telemetry on your account but if you don't log in this probably won't be an issue

MSI MAG 274QP - QD-OLED X24
MSI MAG 271QP QD-OLED X28

Opinion on these displays? First one is at 320 eurobucks, the second one is about 50 euros more expensive. Is it worth the extra?
>>
>>109762794
only difference i can see is 280hz vs 240hz, whether that is worth 50 euros is up to you
>>
>>109762841
That seems to be the only notable difference, the second one has better brightness too, but that's pretty much it

What's the latest and most stable Nvidia driver version right now?

My PSU died
What brands are we doing now
At least 850w
>>
>>109762918
Check the hwbuster link in the OP. It differs from model to model likely but I heard once ASUS PSUs under 1000w are from Super Flower, 1000 - 1200 from Seasonic and above from Wentai but this might be their Thor lineup only.
>>
>>109762794
1440p is too low above 24"
even if your GPU is on the weaker side, you'll appreciate the increased pixel density that 4k will provide if you ever do anything other than vidya, plus OLED's decent motion clarity means that you can get away with lower framerates in some aspects
>>
>>109762727
use something like https://github.com/tnodir/fort to quarantine it maybe
>>
>>109763006
4k is also over double the budget, even without going for a 32" one

Guys be honest. When do you think we will get back to market conditions where you can just walk into a store and come out with a genuinely good PC for $1500? Including prebuilts. Surely this will happen again as technology continues to evolve. But I know the market is illogical.

Im frustrated with issues forced on me by reality.
I order chink headphones and they repeatedly break from shitty design. You cant see cq issues that take time to materialize and a consumer needs to wait few years after launch before buying a thing.
I buy a usb stick that somehow has 10mb/s write speeds, good to know theres no bottom you can't reach with technology standards.
I couldn't install windows on fresh ssd because of some mystery fault that the software doesnt communicate, which prompted me to buy a new usb stick to remove a failure point. Could be a mobo bios bug too, who knows, not me.
Every unreal 5 game requires putting in work so the experience doesnt suck on pc. Own an oled hdr monitor? Time to get to modding 60-70€ games that ship with sdr only in 2026.
Smart tvs spy on you, no options to buy dumb tv. Apparently every household having microphone spying on your speech isn't a problem in lawmakers eyes, its in the TOS so its fine.
Websites force spying on me with accounts, because AI scraping and AI bots, so thats cool.
My monitor got an UI update and pressing a button to go to settings menu doesnt work 90% of the time for half a year now.
Memory crisis = years of no hope for fun, affordable tech. Hope you got yours because increasing larger number of people didnt, which you see in pcbg doomerism.
Can't know what jobs are going to exist in 2 years with AI. At least I don't need to browse SEO websites thanks to ai summaries, so that balances things out.

Something is wrong. The usual wisdom is the problem is You which enables You to fix it, but fix seems to be not trusting anything, being extremely defensive or being part of the group that exploits others for personal gain.
>>
Are there any builds affordable for like $500-600 that can play modern games?

you can still get midrange builds with 5070/9070 xts for a bit more with a 9800x3d
what takes longer, wait for the market to fix itsel for just go out and flip some burgers and earn more money? you can literally make up the different for whatever that waiting will be done in a month or something compared to years of waiting
waiting is not an option

unironically just stop being poor

All those issues were solved by me having the money to buy quality stuff at the right time. and having the brain and maturity to fix the problems and stop whining about it.
>>
>>109763762
Imagine if theres people in society are poorer and lower iq than you or have any kinda mental issues, or don't have the time or interest to diddle things.

But sure if you have money life seems to make more sense, you're the winner.
>>
>>109763570
There is a solution but it's one people don't like to hear.

Reject chinkphones, return to speakers. Become a real man and stop caring if people hear your audio.

t. transitioned from speakers to headphones and back to speakers

Speaker chads always win. And if you live in an apartment? It's not your problem. Noise complaints? Not your problem.
>>
>>109763762
yea zoomers arent exactly known for having money as they came into an economy that was already beyond repair
>>
>>109763818
Some zoomers such as myself got lucky off of shitcoins.

But there comes a spiritual moment for all human beings when you realize money isn't enough. It actually isn't. That awareness you have when you realize you were just as happy as a kid with a deck of yu-gi-oh cards or your gameboy as you are with a $2,000 PC. Or a nice car.

Perspective is everything and money often sucks the lifeblood out of what matters. Now I'm not saying you can't have money or things. But for me it wasn't enough.

desu ive dried a lot of drugs including cigs and alcohol. cigs are a meme. they just are i don't get it. alcohol is pretty cool at first until you realize hangovers are a real phenomenon so alcohol is a meme too.

i like weed but i don't like smoking it. if you smoke weed it's meme tier like cigs. edibles are nice though. i like weed edibles a LOT. i've also done shrooms and lsd. they are insane. in fact they are so incredible they made me quit all drugs entirely. i may be an outlier though. i don't want to sound like a redditor but they are just insane experiences. i do want to try them again but it's so hard to get ahold of it i'm just like well maybe that was my lesson.

so yeah drugs are an adventure

Not going to happen. There's too much money supply floating around globally. Just because it doesn't get printed into paper money doesn't mean it doesn't exist on an account balance. You can fool around with numbers but at the end of the day accounts must balance. The moneyprinting won't stop any time soon, you're double digits in trillions of debt. Then fucking turn all that money into real assets. What do you think the merchants have been doing generation after generation? They build wealth, they don't let it squat in the gutter doing nothing. And they don't do it on an individual basis, they have this subconscious drive lets them pass it on to their kids, it's called blood ties and family.
>>

why not both? Speakers when I can and if things get too loud I switch to headphones.

>If you're American, buy ammo even if you don't have a gun. Ammo is an asset.
Guns are literally the worst asset one can invest in. Almost anything else is a better investment. Nothing depreciates faster than guns and ammunition. Literally the moment a purchase is finalized the value drops by multiples.

yea you finally seem to understand. What does a coder earn in america? $100k+? In germoney it's somewhere between 40 - 60k+ € that gets then bombed down with taxes and even this is decent enough to buy hardware depending on your rent and other factors. Other countries earn even less but the situations of each anon vastly differs just telling them to buy when they may not have it is peak boomer advise. And some anons simply dont give a fuck who run some 5+ years old machine and happily emulate while either losing it all or tripling what they have on the stock market or don't care at all.

Current OP is also a faggot that removed the line that said "think for yourself" which should be obvious by now after all the RTX 50 super hype fiasco.

So don't buy those components. Ask yourself, do you really need a Mushkin 12TB SSD? No, but you want it. You don't need though. There's always a trade-off, just accept it. I can't have a 5090 or any big GPU for that matter because I like to stuff lots of storage in mine and the big GPUs from both sides are just annoyingly long.

>>109764395
check what GPU your BIOS defaults to. In case you have adrenaline installed DDU it and install only the driver as it loves to conflict with nvidia or disable the iGPU of your 9800x3d entirely. BIOS update may help with stability of RAM:

money is supposed to buy you things that improve your life
buying something that has a benefit but also downsides ends up at the same place, the negatives might actually be more of a downside than anything

same with oled monitors
>Buy this shit run it
>Get hit with a random cuck refresh because manufacturers decided to jew you on the warranty so they make sure you hit your minimum refresh cycles

I wouldnt be surprised if none of current AI racks is used 1:1 on a consumer gpu, or that they skip this gen and maybe look at what next gen AI server racks have and bring that over to consumers if vram pricing allows.

This should not be working considering I only duct tape these butyl sheets as opposed to peeling off the paper and sticking them on, and yet even just a single layer of aero gold on both dark base 900 panels in this layout Is already making a difference.

Though I've put two sponges below the noisiest drive, I'll have to see how it applies to the non dampened Toshiba drive in the regular cage. Maybe then I'll stick it on permanently and put memory foam on top of that too.

Yeah I'm probably not going to permanently block off the side panel air vents just in case, probably leaving them with some temporary adhesive. Or selective application on non working surfaces with some clever scissor work. Doubt I'll use them over shoving just 3 more SW3 fans with two more on the top.

I also did check the clearance of the bottom and top panels just to make sure I don't disrupt the airflow too much, I should have enough margin I think for at least a single thin layer of butyl and foam.

As long as it has some form of burn-in protection. Many do these days. They either dim sections of the screen that have logos/HUD elements or they slightly shift the pixels to move it around and prevent burn-in. Burn in was bad on old OLEDs that didn't have these features.

Going to brag, but I found the Logitech G502 X wired at my local office depot on clearance for $30. I didn't need a mouse since my Steelseries Rival 310 still works, but decided that the $60 was too good to pass up even with the minimum search I did on it. After swapping it out I must say it is a very nice mouse and I really like the scroll wheel and the extra buttons. They actually had a second one on sale too so I went back and bought it as a spare since it is very nice.

holy shit bros, 9070xt is beast in 1080p ultra wide gaming, that shit is virtually silent when capped at 60hz. I know its overkill but with todays prices i think new monitor is much less problem than trying to buy new cards in year or two. And I really like 29 inch ultrawide anyway.
Also that amount of headroom is really future proof and that is another thing i really wanted

No, even in 1080p u can lock it on 60hz and should be fine for most games. Only games that are CPU intensive will be problematic or if u playing in high fps esport titles CPU will be bottleneck. Okay, give me some advice.

I am making two PCs. One is a gift, and one is to sell.
I have two GPUs to build with - A 4070Ti Super, and a 9070XT.
Which should I put in the PC to sell, and which should I put in the PC as a gift?
The 4070Ti is a worse card performance wise, but it's Nivida. So I feel like that would sell faster.

What are the cons with current OLED monitors?

Is burn in still an issue? I've also heard that there is VRR flicker, is that for all OLED monitors or just most of them?
>>
>>109771540
vrr flicker is an inevitability with vrr and fluctuating frame rates
the monitors can only fix it by having an option that automatically disabled vrr when fps goes too low
and proper software has steady frame rates which prevents the issue, and you can use frame gen to help it
>>
>>109771540
Vrr flicker happens on all oleds given big variations in frame rate.
Burn in is still an issue, but honestly, if you can afford OLED, you can afford to keep a cheap IPS for productivity.
The biggest weakness of OLED, for me, is having to be in a darkened room for it to actually look better than bog standard calibrated IPS and not be bummed by reflections on the screen.
>>

>>
>>109772505

>>
>>109771138
Realistically, if you're looking to play new games, you're going to wack on DLSS and maybe FG and put value on it looking great and running at above 60fps.
And for that you're going to want to use the 4070Ti Super.

The average gamer really just doesn't care that much if it's "Native" or using upscaling and generation.

speaking of, my used RTX 2070 Super seems to be producing some coil whine when benchmarking it. ran the same benchmark on my Arc B580 and no coil whine. my old R9 390, though, is also giving me some coil whine.

is it just the result of being used too much? can it be fixed? is there anything i can do short of taking it apart? i've never done the latter and would prefer to have it done by a professional the first time.

R9 390 owner here. didn't do much serious gaming on it the last few years, but the drivers have been okay i guess, even though i'm not the most tech literate person.

from a market share standpoint, i'd say gifting the PC with the 9070XT in it would be good word-of-mouth advertising for AMD (more competition = better), but only if the person receiving it cares enough to remember the manufacturer of the GPU in their system.

hope that helps :)
