The mental model that made sense to me was fluid dynamics, a can of compressed air is the best analogy. The can contains a high voltage because the air inside it is pressurized against the air outside it, creating potential energy (it wants to come out forcefully). When you spray the air out of the can, amps is the amount of air molecules leaving the can per second. And watts is the amount force being exerted by those molecules as they blow out of the can and hit something.
