They only seem that way, because your average retard routinely blows many hundreds every single month on socializing and buying excessive calories and then thinks they have no money.
But they're definitely not without purchasing power.
By cutting down on normie expenses for few months, the average Joe could easily buy a 5090 without even realizing they spent that money.

On bare performance/money scale the 5070 is kinda the border before it starts to dip for normie usecases. Keep in mind the percentage price difference between the 5070 and 5070 ti was already bad in the past, it only got worse over time. You can get 3x 5070 for the price of 2x 5070 ti nowadays.

Things you need to get used to in order to use OLED:
-Burn in
-VRR Flicker
-PWM
-Text fringing on 1440p
-Purple tint on older QD-Oleds
-Pixel refreshes
-Hide your taskbar
-No static elements for too long
-Grey banding on WOLEDS
-Reflections on glossy monitors
Anything else im missing?

slightly noticeable in light mode, less in dark mode but yea IPS is clearer

not an issue for me

And that's just the thing. OLED buyers will put up with all sorts of shit. They are too blinded by how good looking oled is that this massive list of problems they literally do not give a shit about. Grey banding is the only issue I've seen lots of people actually say unacceptable and return it. But of course they just go an buy a QD-OLED instead.

TANDEM WOLED will never beat QD because of it.

FGR + Rank Interleaving = reads/writes are never blocked during refresh.

what this means for you the user is no data stalls. as in no stutter. audio is clean. you click something it happens instantly there is no waiting for your ram to do its thing before the cpu can do its thing.
>>
>>109964972
Steam survery is misleading since it's opt-in and includes laptop cards. I promise not a single 50 or even 40 series card is in the average PC connecting to steam.
>>
>>109968287
DDR5 can refresh some banks while still using others, and dual rank lets the controller hit one rank while the other is busy. That cuts down refresh stalls but doesn't get rid of them, DDR5 still does full refreshes too. Also that bank refresh thing is a DDR5 feature, single rank DDR5 has it as well, so you're really comparing DDR4 vs DDR5, not single vs dual rank.

Main issue is scale though. A refresh stall is a few hundred nanoseconds. Stutter and audio crackle happen over milliseconds, which is thousands of times longer. One frame at 144fps is about 7ms. You can't feel a 300ns pause and the CPU cache hides most of it anyway.

Crackling audio is basically always drivers, DPC latency, USB or power saving stuff. Stutter is shader compilation, streaming, bottlenecks, frame pacing etc. RAM refresh isn't the cause of either.

Dual rank DDR5 is worth a few percent in some games and bandwidth heavy stuff, but it's a benchmark difference, not something that makes your PC feel snappier or fixes audio. If upgrading fixed that for you it was the new platform or a fresh install.
>>
>>109968322
all this yap to say incorrect bullshit and random nonsense. your computer doesn't care about feelings or what you do. it sees everything as 1's and 0's and those 1's and 0's get blocked because people cant setup bios properly for their ddr5.
>>
>>109968298
laptop cards are seperate>>109966814
>>
>>109968342
You're the one who brought up feelings, your original post was literally about audio being clean and clicks happening instantly.

A refresh stall is about 300 nanoseconds. Your audio buffer is usually several milliseconds. Even if every refresh blocked everything, it's over long before it could ever cause a crackle or a delay you'd notice. That's just maths, not opinion.

BIOS setup is a different argument. Not enabling XMP or EXPO just means slower RAM, and bad manual timings usually mean crashes, errors or failed boots, not "blocked" data. None of that is down to single vs dual rank or how refresh works.

If you've got a source showing refresh stalls causing audible crackle or input lag I'm happy to read it.
>>
>>109968343
Thanks for the correction, but the reason behind it is the same. Enterprise orders for prebuilts and netcafes are all going to go with the cheapest "enthusiast" tier card and that's the 5070.

>>109968322
DDR5 is functionally useless for consumers at the end of the day. People just like having the latest thing.
>>
Ranks that are not currently transferring data can execute their refresh cycles in the background with dual rank

FGR ensures every memory bank refresh independently

Combined the system always has access to a open memory bank at all times. It's not waiting for one side or both sides to re-open.

The age of the PC is over. Look, the vast majority of people don't even own a PC and those that do either haven't touched it in so long that it has an inch of dust on it, or they have a laptop they pull out once in a while.
People who actually use their PCs on a regular basis for gaming, coding, whatever are a TINY minority in the grand scheme.
So, this who hardware disaster.... yes.... it is because of the AI faggots, but there was a secondary effect that businesses have caught onto and are taking advantage of. Can you guess what that is?
>Hey bro, I heard you can't afford a PC
>Check out of subscription based cloud services!
What storage?
>iCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc etc etc
Want AI?
>Frontier subscriptions!
Want gaming?
>Game Pass, It's just like Netflix, but for games!
Want to code?
>Hey bro, just subscribe you can use our services! (psst don't read the terms of service too close cause we have the right to steal your IP work and use it as our own! tee hee)
Some of you chuds have your heads shoved up your ass so far you don't see it coming.
Hardware will never return to normal prices and those prices will continue to rise for the foreseeable future. If and when the AI rush slows, the prices will still stay high.
You will own nothing and you will like it. You will surrender all of your privacy to corporations and you will like it. You will give up your rights to owning your own intellectual property and you will like it.
You will only have a smart phone or a tablet and do ALL of your computing through subscriptions and corporate owned clouds and you will like it.
Screen cap this.
IT
IS
GOING
TO
HAPPEN

yeah, amd should've launched the 6800x3d (7800x3d for am4) so we could have avx512 but they are a jewish company and they have no incentive to make any good desktop cpus now that their server cpus are selling like water

people in the 3rd world can only afford ddr3 systems, I think ddr4 is going to last far longer than people realize, if intel was smart raptor lake next would've been an improvement over raptor lake refresh and they could use 5nm nodes for it instead of 7nm, those products would sell, there is a market for them, and then they would for amd to make the 6800x3d also on 5nm.

A Reddit user decided to replace their Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card with a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. The gamer had previously upgraded from a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti based on community advice, attracted by the impressive raw compute performance per dollar.

However, accumulating software issues ruined the overall experience. The owner faced poor FSR integration, slow day one driver updates, glitches in video editing software, lack of CUDA, and an inferior latency reduction system compared to Reflex 2, constantly relying on OptiScaler.

The enthusiast stated that AMD hardware feels like a product for tinkerers requiring non stop adjustments. Nvidia provides a polished plug and play environment with DLSS 4.5 and DLSS 5 neural rendering directly out of the box.

>Choose AMD
>Surprised by mediocre drivers.
>Do video editing and don't know why Nvidia is mandatory for productivity
>Use FSR at all

I really don't understand why anyone would buy AMD and not go into it expecting these things. Like, you're spending $800 on a GPU and you aren't going to consider stuff like CUDA and FSR and whatever?
>>
>>109971656
Reviewers LITERALLY lie to the consumers
They do their routine benchmark, put a fps per dollar chart on the screen and tell people to buy amd.
No regard for software features, game support, productivity apps, streaming etc.

Anima and SDXL can be run on potato setups and it's misleading to suggest that's all a $1000 GPU is capable of. A 5090 is obviously faster, but these models are perfectly comfortable with 16gb of vram.

Why is QD not standard for Mini LED? Why are manufacturers only going for it on 5K screens now instead of 4K displays? Phosphors are literally twice as slow on an IPS Mini LED in input lag and response time.

Get a 5070 Ti and overclock the memory and enjoy your 16gb 5090.
The 5070 Ti is very likely going to cost +2k next year anyways as people start fomoing into the mid range with the availability getting even worse.
Especially now with the memory OC available for the masses which is godsend for AI.
You'll do good getting one now while they're still relatively affordable.

>>
>>109971761
I'll actually concede that Anima turbo is a thing now and I'd forgotten about that, but Anima had way higher requirements than SDXL when it released. It was one of the big criticisms. My point was that imagegen is fine and textgen isn't at 16gb vram. The nuance is that the definition of "fine" can vary. Some are willing to wait 1-2 minutes for a picture while others aren't. Some can handle 2 tokens per second on CPU/ram inference for textgen while others aren't.

>Everybody complains about PC's being unfathomably expensive in current year
>I mention buying used PC hardware
>*THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING*
Throughout the 2010's, when I was a NEET who could barely scrape together money, I only ever bought used PC's on Craigslist. Here's what you do: Just go on your local Craigslist, go to the Computer section and type "Ryzen" and then look for any modest custom-built PC with a Ryzen cpu being listed within your budget. Don't be afraid to haggle down the price, particularly if their listing has been up for over a month. It's always worked out for me.

Is this a boomer take? Am I out of touch? IS THIS ADVICE THE EQUIVALENT TO 'A FIRM HANDSHAKE'?

Question for those who have mini led monitor. Do you get a better experience with local dimming on on sdr games or does it only work on hdr games?
>>

I did it.... I returned my TCL 27C2A... I got my $450 back... she was perfect in every way for the price, lowest input lag, best motion clarity... except the local dimming algorithm (the feature I am paying for on a mini led) was too aggressive... (and the coil whine and backlight bleed was annoying)...

Wtf do I do now? Go back to my tiny 23.8" 1080p 240Hz 6 bit + FRC edge lit IPS?
>>
>>109973212
I had a great experience in Garry's Mod using SDR local dimming on my 1196 zone monitor. Arguably better than HDR depending on the algorithm.

Yeah exactly, this thought process and greeneltext rang through my head for 4 weeks until this last day where I couldn't take it anymore.

What's the point of me paying for MinI LED, which costs 2X over SDR monitors? Uniformity over edge lit panels, massive brightness, HDR and contrast to rival OLED without burn in.

Thank fuck I made the call just now to end it and pull out before I'd be stuck with another bastard monitor.

I looked at TCL TVs too out of curiosity and couldn't help but see the same pattern in the algorithm and colors.

WTF, I need to turn in my review their monitor RIGHT NOW and pray they improve the monitor firmware to allow for user updates and customization to the local dimming algorithm.

I would have kept this monitor if the software wasn't locked down in that category. Because while the monitor does achieve perfect blooming control under direct viewing angles, it comes at the cost of black crush and a less three dimensional image in mid to high APL scenes as mid tone elements are aggressively dimes to about 250 nits.

Otherwise I can't deny for 1699 pln this is the best monitor for the price on the market right now in my opinion. I just don't understand why they keep restricting user freedom with the local dimming settings or not use integer scaling, unless enough people buy it to where it literally is not significant enough.
