There's already too many different SKUs of Intel CPU for OEMs & retailers have to order, adding P-core or E-core exclusive client products just adds to the shitshow.
Intel is also holding firm with hybrid cores for client products because this is the most effective way to get software engineers to optimize their programs for P + E core CPUs.
Mainstream client software adoption of AVX-512 is progressing at a glacial pace because of Intel's significant market influence ("If Intel CPUs can't run it, why bother?").
I'm obviously not talking about console emulation, this is about things OEMs & enterprises care about.
>>

>If Intel CPUs can't run it, why bother?
I mean they aren't the only ones using E cores in client, AMD/Apple/Qualcomm/Mediatek all use a Pcore/Ecore solution in their laptop chips. Software engineers have to optimise for those cpus regardless.

Those other hybrid core designs don't behave exactly the same as Intel's, they're X86 vs. ARM for a start, and AMD's big little x86 products are miniscule in scale vs. Intel.
There's proprietary software scheduling, instruction set characteristics, and x86 legacy baggage to account for.
>>
>>110114707
first problem wasnt my fault, it came with 2 screws locked in place I had to get an uncle to drill them off
now today's problem is AMD's fault and their retarded PGA socket, I screwed the fuma 2 too hard and it lifted the cpu off off the socket and it took me hours to figure that out after trying everything and switching the psu, the computer would light up but pressing the power button did nothing, so I had to dissasembly it fully to find the issue, I already put the cpu back on and rest the cooler on top and it posted, so I guess it's not dead, I'm too tired for today, tomorrow I'll install the cooler again and make sure it's fully working before putting it into the retarded tiny case

ASUS B850-CREATOR ProArt WIFI NEO AMD AM5 ATX Motherboard $299.99

is this a good motherboard for a PCIe 5 x8/x8 dual GPU setup?
>>
>>110114963
Yes, it’s a good fit. This board is one of the few B850 boards built for a dual-GPU setup on CPU lanes.

What it gives you

It has two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots that run as x16 or x8/x8, on Ryzen 9000/7000 and EPYC 4005 CPUs. When both Gen5 slots are populated, they run at x8 each.
netcodex
computeralliance
Both GPUs get Gen5 lanes straight from the CPU. Neither goes through the chipset. A Gen5 x8 link has the same bandwidth as a Gen4 x16 link, so for most GPU workloads you lose almost nothing.
There is also a third slot, PCIe 4.0 x16 (max x4), on the chipset. That’s handy if you want a capture card, NIC or HBA without touching the GPU lanes.
evernimble

Things to check

Ryzen 8000 series (8000G APUs): With these CPUs the slots drop to a single PCIe 4.0 x16 slot that supports x8/x4. You’d want a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 chip.
netcodex
M.2 sharing: The board has two PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slots and one PCIe 4.0 x4 slot. The Gen5 M.2 slots are CPU lanes, so check the manual or ASUS’s bifurcation table to confirm that using them doesn’t change your GPU lane split. I couldn’t verify this from the listings.
evernimble
Physical spacing: The two Gen5 slots are close together on an ATX board. Two 3-slot cards won’t fit comfortably. Blower cards, 2-slot cards or a riser-based layout work much better, so check your card thickness against the slot positions.
Cooling and power: Two high-end GPUs next to each other need good case airflow and a PSU with enough headroom. That depends on the cards, not the board.

Price: $299.99 is in line with what I’d expect for a feature set like this (dual 5GbE, WiFi 7, 14+2+1 VRM). Alternatives with x8/x8 are generally the pricier X870E boards, such as the ProArt X870E-Creator, which adds USB4.

9070 has a bit higher power draw than 5070 but should be fine. Depends on the CPU as well but as long as you don’t have a ryzen9/i9/ultra 9 you should be fine.

don't know much about the differences between these gpu architectures, is this change a good thing? i first thought about getting a 1070 but the lack of driver support and increased power consumption made me choose a 1660, don't have to worry about upgrading my psu then. the 1660 and 1060 seems to demand the same amount of power and i won't have to fiddle with any power cables, the existing 6+2 pcie in my computer will work. god i love making shit easy for myself, literally just plug and play it seems
>>
>>110115395
The 1660 runs dx12 stuff better but dx11 worse than the 1070. That's the main difference.

Two questions:
- Are there notable HTPC oriented keyboard OTHER than Logitech K400 Plus? I swear this shit just get it right even with mediocre touchpad it's viable as fuck.
- Any manufacturer recommendations for USB hub? Need to plug some simple stuff like radio dongles for peripherals, SD card reader and "audio card" which just allows plugging headphones/set jack as USB device. Thus sparing some extra PC USB slots for actual heavy lifting like disk/optical drives.
>>
>>110115613

>>110115624
What with touchpads built in? Nope.
Sabrent make reliable ones. Startech. Ugreen. Anker. Any will do really.
>>
>>110115613
zamn we really can run the whole thing in-engine and with a single dll and briefed editors produce a whole bonified movie.

>>
>>110115624
If you want something other than the K400 Plus, the Logitech K830 Illuminated is the closest and the only real step up: bigger, better touchpad, backlit, works over Unifying or Bluetooth, though it's rechargeable rather than AA and usually costs more. The Logitech K600 TV swaps the touchpad for a D-pad, which is great for Kodi or Plex but poor for general desktop use. On the budget side, the Rii i8+ (or X1) is a small 2.4 GHz keyboard with a touchpad, usually backlit, with build quality a step below Logitech. The Corsair K83 Wireless is full-size with a touchpad, joystick and media dial and has the best build of the lot, but it's bigger and pricier. I'd skip the no-name Amazon ones.

For the hub, you don't need anything fancy for dongles, an audio adapter and an SD reader. The Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Ultra Slim Hub and the UGREEN 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub are cheap, compact and reliable. The Sabrent 4-Port hub (HB-UM43 line) has per-port switches, and if you want an externally powered one, Plugable's USB3-HUB7C or StarTech's ST7300USB3B are well regarded. One thing worth knowing: USB 3.0 ports and cables can generate noise around 2.4 GHz, which can make wireless dongles laggy or flaky, so keep the keyboard dongle on a short USB 2.0 port or extension away from USB 3.0 stuff. A UHS-II card reader wants a USB 3.0 port, but older readers don't. Keeping your disk and optical drives directly on the PC is the right call. Stock and pricing change a lot, so check what's actually available before buying.

Will Nvidia just ditch the high end and make it Pro / datacenter cards only? Will Sam Altman get GPU control passed and you need to register with the feds and pay a huge fee to own anything faster than a 6060? Will the 6090 jsut straight up be $6000 if it even exists?

I got a Samsung Odyssey G70B 2 years ago with 5 stuck pixels which Best Buy is supposed to cover with the plan thing I bought.

If I want to trade this in for store credit ($500) and don't want to go OLED, is Mini-LED the best next step up from a normal 4K IPS? Any fags here with 4K Mini-LED monitors they can recommend?
>>
>>110116578
I really like my TCL 27R94. I don't have an OLED monitor to compare it to though.

I bought a keychron m3 pixart 3395 for office work and it's a really, really nice mouse... I like it a lot. the only problem is that the middle button is a toggle for the stupid rgb colors instead of a toggle to unlock the mouse wheel. Apparently this mouse can't do that. any similarly good alternatives? i'm considering returning this and buying a mouse that has that feature.
>>
>>110116578
Dont fall for the mini led meme either cope with ips or get an oled

If the missing wheel toggle is a dealbreaker, the Logitech MX Master 3S (or the newer MX Master 4) is the closest match to what you like about the M3, and it does exactly what you want: the button behind the wheel switches between ratcheted and free-spin, and SmartShift can also switch automatically when you flick the wheel. It's quiet, comfortable for long office days, and the software is solid. If you want something smaller, the MX Anywhere 3S has the same electromagnetic wheel and a mode-shift button. On a tighter budget, the Logitech G502 X has a dedicated wheel-mode button, though it's a gaming mouse, and the Razer Basilisk V3 has a free-spin switch and adjustable resistance, but its software is heavier. Double-check that the exact variant you buy has the toggle, and confirm your return window on the M3 before ordering. Remapping the middle button in Keychron's Launcher won't add a hardware free-spin mode, so it won't solve this one.

ips was the last display technology that actually worked. everything since ips is cope.

>>110116652
That's fair. If I catch the 32" on sale I might pick it up as well and see. You should know that TCL definitely doesn't offer software updates on these. So if you use it and there is something you dislike, or doesn't work properly, it will always be there. That being said I have had zero issues.

Old computers are still dirt cheap; Tinker with old stuff. If your neighborhood does electronic recycling days, you can pick up ancient PC's that they're just throwing away off the curb. You don't need a top-of-the-line PC unless you're a productive person doing 3D model Rendering, Crypto mining, or (of course) AI art and vibecoding. Shit, even video games don't have very high requirements these days unless you're trying to play Unreal5 garbage.

during the 2010's, in the scenario I mentioned with curb PC's, I'd just rip the harddrives out of those old PC's people were throwing away. They never had graphics cards, it was always old pieces of shit with harddrives between 40GB-120GB. Free harddrive is a free harddrive.

I hate wanting to upgrade DDR4 to DDR5 which is kinda unnecessary given my setup is pretty top of the line as DDR4 goes, just missing an X3D Chip.

I got the Master 4 a month ago.
It's a pretty big upgrade on the 3 S in terms of materials. The 3 is coated in like a weird rubbery material that I found always got sticky and melty after about y ear. The 4 is more like a textured soft plastic that seems a lot better. It still has the rubbery stuff on the thumb and little finger grip though.

Cooler Master HAF II 500 is slightly larger than the Meshify 2 XL (79.98 L vs. 77.2 L).
They're similarly priced though. It's worth spending more on cases with proven quality, it's something you can keep for a while.

It won't help you lose weight or a replace routine exercise.
You also need to alternate between sitting and standing to get the most benefit, not stand all day.

a 1080 is stronger than a ps5 so yeah probably. People saying that a ps6 is going to be on par with a 5070ti are retarded. You'll be lucky to get a ps6 with 9070 performance.
>>
>>110118528
the key advance is RT and pt performance alongside ai accelerators for upscaling, frame gen, neural networks

It has to be at least 5070 ti pt perf or game devs arent gonna do much with it
>>
>>110118528
The advantage of ps6 is that they sony optimize their software thats why their games run like buttery smooth just like when you run games on a 5090

What software? For work? Gaming? AI?
Install Adrenalin which is the AMD GPU monitor software, the AMD version of the Nvidia app, but when you install it click "advanced options" or whatever and disable the AI assistant, the secondary software and most of all the "screen analysis" tool which scans your screen at all times and sends it to AMD for some reason. It's literal spyware. I don't know why you would want to get spied on at all times, but with AMD you can. On the upside, the AMD software suite, stripped of its AI tool and secondary software, takes +30GB less storage on your disk drive.
You don't need other software for the card except if you have an ASUS there's GPU Tweak 3, if you have an MSI there's another software, etc. that's for overclocking and tweaking everything on the GPU but I found it works better with Nvidia than AMD. It works well, but for instance GPU Tweak 3 with the AMD card doesn't want to update properly, it tries to connect to its server but it fails everytime on startup so I disabled it on startup and if I want to tweak something on the GPU I launch and update it manually. Which I never do because the card is perfect as is.
