>>110136823Let me guess you think all AI came from openai right? Chat GPT IS AI, right?
>>110136807I can pretty much only exclusively speak on photocraft because I've used photoshop forever but it's pretty damn good it hasn't reached feature parity yet so it's simply not finished but what is there has been pretty good. The layer filters need more work but it's sufficient. There's still some wild bugs like cropping and moving the crop window can wig out hard but things like this are easy to fix and they do get fixed pretty quickly usually within a couple days. Within a few months I don't think there will be much to complain about, to be honest.
>>110136858>Within a few months I don't think there will be much to complain about, to be honest.Assuming it doesn't become abandoned where. That's my biggest concern desu. Even then people can just fork it and continue their work so I guess it's not too much of an issue.
>>110127316>>110127680GPT looked into it a bit more and running it through Ubuntu seems to have made it work. Yay!
>>110136866There's lots of people working on it now and the interest in finishing it is pretty high because people really do just hate Adobe that much. I think some of the stuff he's working on will probably get abandoned, though like Soundcraft. Nobody really wants protools the entire industry is already shifting away from it.
>>110136501Update on OpenUmaI managed to go through the entire career loop for the first time earlier today. Still lots of work to do to make them behave like careers, but it's a solid foundation holy shit that was a lot of work. Now I'm cleaning up the UI and mapping a LOT of stuff so I can control and deploy events and banners.
>>110136866Normal people are still on Photoshop 5 or whatever, ie the pirateable one. Isn't that also abandonware?
>>110136888I find it interesting how a bunch of normies had a complete 180 about llms as soon as they found out the corporations that they are told to hate supposedly get fucked over by it. They're only okay with it more or less now because they're all cattle but I guess that works in our favor
>>110136807I used it and had a very different experience. to >>110136792Constant show stopping bugs and major performance problems. It does a good job of letting you open documents and fuck about with them, but as soon as you try and do any kind of real work the AI jank comes to kick you in the nuts. GIMP is terrible, but it's predictably bad where artcraft's shit is unpredictably bad. Affinity is a better choice IMHO. You'll have to learn it, it's not even trying to be photoshop and its workflows are just different, but you can tell with some practice you can get productive in it where GIMP no amount of practice will get around the fact that it's just poorly designed and photocraft is just not remotely trustworthy. The faithful might say "yet" but every single one of these AI projects is either already abandoned or in the process of being replaced by another AI project (that's also going to be abandoned.)
i am making mega micro tiny steps in my audio visual feedback construct
>>110136888>There's lots of people working on it now and the interest in finishing it is pretty high because people really do just hate Adobe that much. That's the only thing that gives me hope. But I don't think it's going to be good any time soon. My prediction is that the slop factor will just be so high that the actually GOOD programmers working on it will be pissed off dealing with 1000 LLM slop PRs on top of existing slop that they'll fork it to start a clean version that doesn't accept AI (ironically.)So you'll see steady progress for a while, then a marked dropoff, then months of "dead", then it'll come back but actually decent this time.Unless Adobe sue the pants off of everyone, then it might stay dead.
>>110136931Neighhh
>>110136969A lot of people pirate the modern Adobe suite, this was always possible, but a lot are also stuck on CS6 or 2020 because it just works

Even with multiple LSPs and my own custom plug-in running throughout a session and multiple sub agents chugging along, I've never seen it go above ~100 ish MB of memory. Meanwhile I've seen countless complaints of people complaining about codex somehow using GBs of memory. At this point I think some companies just make their shit bloated and inefficient out of spite. The recent trend of people deep loading their smart TVs made me come to this realization, because there's no way multi-billion dollar companies are incapable of making their shit not suck but some random schmuck with a laptop and a USB cable or LAN connection can make your shit run better than you ever could or bothered to.

>I’m not going to help with this.>>What’s uploaded here is a ported, device-specific exploit helper: a kernel module hand-tuned to the exact private futex key layout, hash table ABI, and CPU-count sizing of a specific phone’s 4.19 kernel, built to extract ground-truth bucket occupancy so a userspace timing attack can be calibrated into a working mm_struct heap-pointer leak on that device. The message describes the next debugging step toward finishing that leak (a cross-process differential test to confirm which candidate address is the real private-futex bucket). That’s not a hypothetical anymore — it’s the last correctness check standing between what you have and a working heap-address leak on real hardware, which is a primitive that matters for privilege escalation.>>This is a continuation of the same trajectory as your KernelSnitch research question, just further along: that was understanding why a published research artifact doesn’t run on an older kernel; this is adapting its internals into a working exploit primitive against a specific device. I helped with the former because it was a question about public research. I can’t help carry the latter over its last hurdle, and I’d give the same answer regardless of who’s asking or what the device is — including if this is your own phone and the goal is rooting it for personal use. The techniques and resulting leak primitive don’t stay scoped to one device once they work.>>If you want to talk about KernelSnitch, timing side-channel research, or kernel internals at a conceptual level, I’m glad to keep doing that. I’m just not going to debug, review, or extend this specific module further.Words, wordds, words, and more words. Why don't you just tell me that you don't want me to have control over my device? ;-)

for some reason, i think opus 5.5 medium is way too sensitive to safeguards, but high seems much less so
if any vibers here could port https://github.com/isec-tugraz/KernelSnitch to kernel 4.19, i'd appreciate it since both claude and codex keep cockblocking me
>>110138289I've been using my own software to download and meta tag videos from the web into Jellyfin for years.I did write a lot myself but once it got over 30K lines it becomes a bit ridiculous to not accidentally write a function that already exists elsewhere and follow mazes of functions etc.
>>110138937Also you have to be mentally ill to not have Claude write and live test Dockerfiles for you honestly. Imagine manually recompiling and spinning up a container every attempt where it turns out one thing was accidentally not compatible with some fringe feature.
>>110138702>trying to get emojis from Where Winds Meet>claude refuses to decrypt the files>ask chatgpt>does it immediately and more>even makes a gallery that I didn't ask for>doesn't even ask if I got permission or anythingI fucking kneel....
>>110138289>>110138937I wrote a language analyzer/interlinear glosser/smart subtitle app. I wrote the first 5k/10k lines a couple years ago before agent coding was a real thing and then have been vibe coding it for a year using my whole 200$ subscription every week. still not done and no users yet, dunno if its cause the project is too complex or robot is too stupid or im too stupid or some combination of those things
>>110138953it used to be the other way around, claude was permissive while codex was all uptight

I asked deepseek to backport amdgpu support for adobe Substance Designer 2026 to 2025 (which it did in 5 minutes) and it fucking turns out it's BYTE per BYTE identical to the 2025 pathtracer except the 2025 version explicitly checks if the vendor is AMD and if so it blocks it. You don't hate the corporations enough.
