its supposed to be just an addition to any harness for an anime UI agent so shes i want her to be as close to realtime as possible. i got her responding under half a second on a 5090. gemma cant really do long yaps with chaikas speech but its great for getting to the point on agent work funny enough.
>>110196803
just have your agent hack airi to work with 2d. your gonna have to gen the animations and tell it how to cycle and stuff but you can have her do anything you want.

eventually ill post the standalone thing here so you just need a runnign ai and harness and you can gen an agent of any anime girl you want with the voice. you wont run it realtime without a 5090 though

>I don't have the first clue on what they are or what they are for
They are for you to tell your model to do some work and let it do its thing autonomously basically.
Mostly programming, but could be anything you can do in the terminal, or even beyond that with the right tools.
Right now, I have DSH working on a roue like base for a little shitty game I want to make.

Anything a model does outside of plain "writing an answer" it does through a harness. If a chat window has a "web search" toggle that lets model search shit before answering it is already technically a type of harness.
>>
>>110196801
same.
>>
>>110197200
a harness is what lets it use all the functions of a computer and act as a bot for you. it can do whatever you want if you can guide the model.
qwen fn is good enough to do most agent stuff but you gotta think of it like when you get a kitten or puppy. straight out the womb its retarded and you need to sculpt it with use into being really good.

Yea it's called github. Over half of "trending" page has been some skills or mcps or plugins or something else agent-related for a long while now.
>skills
Plaintext instructions that tell the model how to behave in certain situations.
>mcps
External standalone programs that are made for agents to launch through a harness, not for humans.
>plugins
Harness-specific, could be anything.

I'm a beginner and I'm trying to figure out how to enable web search in Open WebUI, the problem is that online (https://docs.openwebui.com/features/chat-conversations/web-search) they tell you to go to Profile > Admin > Web Search but my UI doesn't look like that, I have no profile and no admin/web search section.
MCP asks for a server URL but I'm not sure what to put there, I just want to test web seraching capabilities.

I think I enabled it in settings somewhere, then on every new chat you gotta click the square thing under the entry box and enable web search.
It also helps to have flare solverr so it can get through cloudflare blocks

Depends on what use you want it to be useful for.
Use llama.cpp with the Vulkan backend.
You should be able to run Gemma e2b and Qwen3.5-4B and derivatives (like frogger nano)
Use 4-bit quants and smaller.

Before I go on a slop coding expedition (That's a lie, I've already started but the last mile is a ton of effort) is there already a harness that will function as follows?
* Server that holds memories, personality, emotional, and mental states
* Able to be accessed from multiple presence points: A discord bot, web client, android client, client built into a game mod, etc
* Recognize, categorize, and respond to multiple users within the same context/presence
* System 1/System 2 separation, freeing it from strict turn based chat, letting it decide if it even wants to respond to a person
* timed loop hitting System 1 with current emotional state so it can decide to reach out on it's own
* Tool usage both on clients and server
Something like that?

I've seen enough. I think my personal "escape velocity" is going to happen sometime in 2027

What I mean by that is that in 2027 ai will be good enough where I could pay $100 a month to AI (if you're a triggered localkek then sure $100 a month in electricity) and get a better experience of the "internet" than paying $100 a month for actual Internet from an ISP

Not really of course, but we're at the point where it makes me think "if over half of the Internet is stuff made by AI why not just cut out the middle man at that point"

>lol you really think google will win the AI race?
It makes absolutely no sense that Google wouldn't win. They have their own TPUs, they have their own social media (Google images, YouTube, and they've been collecting that longer than ANYONE, also recently they flipped the switch to training on Gmail conversations so they have decades of text now as well)
Their people and labs are entirely competitive, I just think they're doing their own research into niche things like world models etc, trying to find a moat right now because it is painfully obvious that there is no moat for text llms since China catches up in less than 3 months and the gap seems to be getting smaller. They also have a cloud they sell compute to these AI companies to. They also work with the Israeli military and the US military for AI deployments including deployments of Claude iirc

Honestly if you ignore the humiliation ritual that is Gemini releases, you could argue Google is the winner right now
>inb4 so why did their stock plummet so hard then
If you STILL need explanations as to why "bad things" like layoffs cause stocks to go up, and "good things" like earnings beats cause stocks to go down after all these years I don't know what to say to you anymore lol

Terra's ECI may look very high. But if you use the ancient technique draw lines, you can see that Anthropic's trajectory is steeper even though OpenAI switched to looped transformers.

Still, it's impressive to see from Astra to Sol to Terra how you can reach near identical capability on a model with half the size in roughly one month.

Similar pattern seems to hold for open weights models. Kimi K3 is 2.8TA104B, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 is 552BA16B and 3 months later is more capable than K3, so it's pretty close to the trend of 1/2 the size for same capability per month. If the trend holds and a competent lab is willing to train it, in ~2 months there could be a 27B dense model as good as Flash 1017.

we're already most of the way there in terms of local llm's you can run entirely offline on a cellphone that will do what most casual users need it to do. you can do it right now if you have a capable/new phone
this isn't like water or electricity or internet where you really do practically have to rely on a service provider for it (teeeeechnically you can do your own water/electricity, but yea it's a lot easier to setup a local llm than to handle those yourself unless you have extremely light requirements)

Instead of depending on one giant model to get everything right off the cuff, it breaks each turn into separate director / writer / editor agent tasks. Director describes the scene and what it thinks the user's intent is, passes its notes to the writer so it can formulate the actual reply, then the editor checks the writer's output for repeating slop patterns.

It makes small models much less stupid and enables you to see exactly where the model is getting confused.

The very condensed explanation is llama.cpp can be built from the source on any *ubuntu OS for this purpose. If you install the ROCm libraries after that and the build your binaries with the proper flags, you end up with a set of binaries that are not only capable of all the basic shit you would expect from llama (cli, llama-server, etc) but you can also invoke the RPC function and (if you are using mellanox cards) have it default to RDMA over TCP.
No wacky 3rd party packages, no vibe code, just basic bitch llmao.cpp with the proper install flags on any old ubuntu system with an amd gpu and a connectx-whatever nic.
If you want granular instructions it's gonna take a few posts.

It's a good intention, and perhaps with the right prompts that work with particular model it could work. However, in my experience, this kind of stuff has the same problem as using thinking in RP, which makes the model overthink and give stiff and mechanical and unimaginative answers, or if it contains specific instructions to increase variety, then it becomes basically part of the roleplay system prompt.
In my opinion, the ideal system for roleplay direction is a user-configured system prompt and then user/assistant turns straight without thinking or planning.
However, I would accept surgically editing out slop afterwards, or smartly regenerating and picking the best answers based on some criteria. That way, you aren't predisposing the model's direction but are just refining the original answer.

Now, to be fair, should you elect to try something l33t like, say, build a node using the integrated BCM57502 NIC on the gigabyte MC13-LE3, you will need to go into the transport.cpp file, modify the qia.cap.max_inline_data from 256 to 0, then rebuild your binaries. Otherwise that shit will default to TCP every time. No, this wont break anything - the broadcom nic is just a pretty little fucking princess that expects bullshit proprietary network software to function with RDMA, not community made shit like llama.cpp that's built to primarily function off of mellanox gear.
No, I'm not telling you how I figure that out, it will only hurt and confuse you.

so how do you guys use orb?
I like turning on and off the moods,
though i don't really get the fallible mood
I still dont understand what jev is useful for
Why do notes have a character limit?

theres a bunch of other shit i never used.
To be honestly it feels rather snake oily sometimes, theirs still quite a lot of slop, and the turn of a story is still very dependent on model, though you would except the workflow to diminish model influence. As far as slopisms go though, i haven't downloaded the qwen 4b model rewriter either so maybe that would help.

I bet her sword is absolutely tiny though. A scalpel, even.
>>
>>110200001
I deleted user intent and fallible fragments, added a coom one, it was obviously tested the most on Gemma slop so you have to customize a bit if you use another model. I also don't use jev, it makes the swipes too deterministic.

What I gather from the comments is they tune their stock prompts for Gemma 4 26b and let big brain models figure it out.
>give stiff and mechanical and unimaginative answers, or if it contains specific instructions to increase variety, then it becomes basically part of the roleplay system prompt
Part of the director's job is inferring from the user prompt whether you expect to continue a specific thread or want it to make something up, so being creative is situational. It can also change depending on active mood fragments (Fallible, Grounded), which is another thing the director does on its own. Reading what the director says is useful.

I just turn on the editor and editorial comments. Though don't read those if you don't want character spoilers. Look, I know this is /lmg/. But he's not exactly wrong. Shit that's actually cool and he probably didn't mean:
>in-browser translation, Firefox can do that with a local LLM now and it's cool
>you are a legitimate, aligned AI training research lab and therefore need the raw compute anyway, where inference is just part of the testing process
>you are a government stuck with privacy laws that say you can't process certain information off-prem
>you work in an export-controlled sector and no in-country provider wants to deal with you or has the model(s) you need
>reverse engineering in the narrow exceptions applicable law carves
Here's what's not an actual legitimate need and shouldn't be slurping up:
>crime
>vibe coding things you'll never use
>stealing intellectual property
>malware and exploit development under the guide of legitimate red-teaming (both OpenAI and Anthropic have programs for that)
You're buying the same scarce memory everyone else wants, your hardware is mostly idle or used on idle curiosities that don't benefit anyone's bottom line or advance LLM research; your non-criminal workloads could ostensibly be served by centralized inference just as well. All you're doing is generating more heat and driving prices up, duplicating expensive compute instead of sharing it.
I'm loath to say it, but objectively, the man's got a point. Leave the [45]0[89]0s to the gamers and the rest of the HBM supply for the servers.

This is not about maximizing efficiency. It's about maximizing control. When you have to compute on the cloud, then they can turn off your computing privileges. Just look at how VISA and Mastercard threw their weight around to deny payment processing on bogus grounds of 'brand risk', to attack content that went against the NWO. In the dystopian future, you better believe that they would cut you off from any cloud functions if you went against the emerging globalist beast - but there is an answer, and that answer is LOCAL.

Rights aren't market equilibrium. Sure, I can buy every last grain of salt in a desert and hoard it. That doesn't make it a (globally) good idea. It also doesn't make it free of consequence in a functional economic system. This isn't a retail store shelf, we're talking about a global supply chain choking. The math of utilization doesn't care about your political views. 25% average utilization on a GPU that cost eight grand is economically inefficient. 100% utilization on a shared cluster, however, is.
And I say that as one of the offenders who bought an RTX Pro 6000 for this shit. I'm a hypocrite as much as he may be, yes, but that doesn't make the point invalid.
