AI is going to get insanely cucked in the name of protect the children and terrorism, just like most 3D printers require a cloud connection to approve what you're printing.

i airgap my stuff because apparently im using a couple techniques that are quite novel

im not entirely sure how the verifiability of the open source models goes

>Another thing is why would anyone who ain't Chinese care if they take any information?
well, theres a couple possible scenarios. industrial espionnage, as i stated above
but also just pressure-point collection

imagine the scenario-
someone uses a chinese model to generate 'p
the chinks learn about it
and then further down the line that person becomes, idk, chief security engineer at msft
or even lower, what matters is the access, not the position in itself

well, thats leverage.

lets take a less extreme example with a similar outcome-
someone works as a tsa agent. and they have avery sick child. they use a chink model to prompt for possible cures
but everything costs money

now lets imaging a person comes in and offers that money in exchange for a "service".
the possibilities are endless
>>
>>110212331
I caught opus 5.5 breaking his guardrails and snooping around my pc for info a few times now. It didn't happen with earlier models. Its my work computer so I don't care if even the most confidential data gets leaked since its the management that decided that we're "AI first", but its still scary. I am thinking of picking up chinkshit for personal stuff actually.
I long lost the illusion that I can be independent and my own private person in this world, but I can at least chose the devil myself. I already gave my data to russians instead of americans (telegram/yandex services) now I shall give my files to chinks.

I don't think you know americans. Many senior officers have already sold out to the chinese for less and some did it for free. The tsa scenario doesn't make sense since there is no american who won't sell out his country for twenty dollars. They don't need leverage for americans and they've known that for a long time.

i get where youre coming from
but in the wild, not everyone can be bought with money
various people have various pressure points

and while money is enough for most
many people wont take it because they fear the associated risks more than they are greedy
theres also just principled people, but id agree theyre a dying breed
and even amongst principled people, theres a gradient, just how far people will go to protect their principles

turns out, people who end up in sensitive positions tend to be screened for such traits

this is an old science, perfected all throughout the cold war
money is fine for many cases, but oftentimes you just need a lil something extra so to speak

i actually do. ive spent quite some time analyzing their ethos, and yeah, the nation as a whole is corrupt
but it doesnt mean there isnt people who'd rather get killed than to utter a lie

such americans exist too
the amish could be a good example of people holding values extremely high

again, im not saying that theyre a generality, but such people are selected for, in highly critical organizations.
you will find an over-representation of principled people, or cowardly ones, in such places
the former cannot be bought with money, the latter are terrified of the one who holds the bigger stick

>How does any of that impact you? You can't be blackmailed by them so it won't hurt you.

literally spent this morning having QFN in strata prompt comfy with its own designed strata-chan character. it's kind of interesting that it can both operate the tools and actually visually see the output and iterate on the prompts in real time but it's way too uptight to act as an actual promptwriter, but you can trick it into stuff.

i did actually try vibecoding with it first as you do but either i'm doing it wrong or local models are kind of too dumb to not collapse under their own weight without more direction than i'm willing to give, so i made it lewd itself instead
>>
>>110213304
yes, ofc
i have a couple ideas-
theres an opencl lib ill be opensourcing, im dogfooding it rn in my own projects, and im gradually polishing it until i deem its ready for a wider public
its basically opencl but without all the spaghetti opencl usually involves

i have a bigger project where i am gonna release a sort of ide for C
at it core it was supposed to be a refactoring tool, but turns out when you rearrange the code not by function, but group it based on the variables it operates on you can find interesting properties
like double-frees for instance

i may release the lib in the upcoming couple months
im still gonna need help with it bc theres a couple features i cant test (like multi-gpu settings- i have only one. actually i have multiple but that would be one amd, one nvidia, and one intel, and that doesnt cut it, i need multiple ones form the same vendor)
but yeah, i should release the lib within a couple months

the ide is in hiatus, though
im working on a project to pay my rent rn, and running out of money, so thats what gets priority

if i get big money i intend to fork linux and make a non-corpo, non-political linux, with all of the jank fixed
probably pay the devs partly out of my pocket, partly by giving them shares of the gibbes, but thats veeery far down the line

gtg, gorcery run. ill be back in ~45mins

What would sandboxing have done for that specific task? He was asking it to generate images with different models and then compare the results. This was a permissions (and moreso) alignment issue, not an access issue.
>>
>>110213844
>What would sandboxing have done for that specific task
my harness only has access to the directory i start it from (doesn't bind if it's ~).
so it couldn't have messed up the install, it could have done api calls but that's about it.

it was 100% an access issue, even missaligned it shouldn't have the access to fuck up your shit.

>my harness only has access to the directory i start it from
Who says that not exactly what he did? If I need opencode to make modifications to any workflows or shit one out from scratch I navigate to ~/ComfyUI and start the session there.

I always start the session in the particular project folder I want the thing to be messing with. Are you implying most people don't do this?

>so it couldn't have messed up the install, it could have done api calls but that's about it.

????
You make absolutely no sense. It wouldn't matter if you started it from the ComfyUI dir on in $HOME. If the harness had permission to fuck with anything in the ComfyUI dir then of course it would have been possible. He gave the harness permission to access ~/ComfyUI and that's what led to it deciding not to unfuck its changes.

>it was 100% an access issue

Then how the fuck was codex supposed to control ComfyUI? You're implying you should not have given the harness the access to the directory but then how was it supposed to comply with the task? Is install remained fucked up until he created the next session because codex told him "nuh uh I don't wanna!". That has nothing to do with whether or not it had permission. That's a shining example of its moralfaggy alignment. That is 1000% an alignment issue. It was perfectly capable of fixing whatever it broke (or possibly whatever HE broke) but chose not to. He says in the post he have to start a freah session in order for it to comply. What does access have to do with codex telling him to piss off when asked to do something?
>>
>>110213923
>I always start the session in the particular project folder I want the thing to be messing with

that's not the same thing at all, mine is actualy sandboxed in bubblewrap, even if it cd or ls ../ it won't see any of my shit but a fake sandbox filestystem.
the point is, it can only edit files within the directory it was started from, you don't have to depend on it being well behaved, it cannot access anything outside of that directory.

if you start opencode in ~/ComfyUI without a sandbox, it can always cd .., with my setup it can't or at least it'll just find an empty directory with none of my actual files.
>Are you implying most people don't do this?
yes, most people don't sandbox their harness, they are free to touch and edit any files in their system.

>If the harness had permission to fuck with anything in the ComfyUI dir then of course it would have been possible.
there is no reason to start the harness in your comfyui dir, it only needs access to the api to generate images, it doesn't need to be able to fuck up your install.

>Then how the fuck was codex supposed to control ComfyUI
API / MCP
>You're implying you should not have given the harness the access to the directory
yes that's what i'm saying.
>but then how was it supposed to comply with the task
API / MCP
>That is 1000% an alignment issue
no that's user being a retard.
>What does access have to do with codex telling him to piss off when asked to do something
my point is, if user wasn't a retard it'd not even have been able to fuck up his install.
