im trying to find a balance bw helping pops refurbishing his appartment and paying my own rent
it is kinda hard ESPECIALLY WHEN I NEED TO FUKKEN MODIFY DEBIAN INSTALLER BC IT FUCKING LOOKS FOR GRUB ON A FUKKEN CDROM WHEN IM INSTALLING FROM USB

its not the first time i am confronted with linuxjank
but now i have the powerlevel to actually get angry about it

This works. C is broken.
>>
>>110215415
no, c isnt retard proof
you are expected to act with caution when youre handling sharp tools
>>
Behold sirs
public class Main {
// ADT
public interface EitherH<R,A,B> {
public R left(A a);
public R right(B b);
};

public interface Either<A, B> {
public <R> R match(EitherH<R,A,B> handler);
// Constructors
public static <A,B> Either<A,B> inl(final A a) {
return new Either<A,B>() {
public <R> R match(EitherH<R,A,B> handler) {
return handler.left(a);

public static <A,B> Either<A,B> inr(final B b) {
return new Either<A,B>() {
public <R> R match(EitherH<R,A,B> handler) {
return handler.right(b);

// Usage
public static void main(String[] args) {
// Creating
Either<Integer, String> ea1 = Either.inl(3);
Either<Integer, String> ea2 = Either.inr("fizz");

Either<Integer, String> ea = ea1; // = ea2;
// Pattern matching
System.out.println(ea.match(new EitherH<Integer, Integer, String>() {
public Integer left(Integer a) { return a; }
public Integer right(String b) { return b.length(); }
}));;
}
}

I wanted a reaction image but it's fucking impossible to find an anime girl with streams of blood coming out of her eyes from disgust at what she has seen and I lose my stash of saved images regularly

And decades upon decades worth of CVEs have indicated that humans are incapable of doing so.

in tyotl 2026 c is macro asm
this is the raison d etre of c
and given its an old ass standard, but also it does its job perfectly well, whatever you will be dealing with
its gonna be either its specific asm
or its gonna be c
bc if you work with exotic stuff
even like a gpu
you are expected not to get confused by pointers.
bc pointers are babby shit
the real game is what you do with em
>>
>>110215503
AI will produce CVEs too, you just won't be paying as much attention. From a holistic point of view it is by finding them (different type of cause) but the real problem with security these days isn't actually software vulnerabilities but how the significance of them has been inflated so significantly.

this can be fixed
but not with a loser ass attitude, like what youre showing rn

unironically

C makes it very easy for me to abuse pointers. I'm not retarded. I'm cleverly abusing C's retarded compiler.

>>
>>110215555
youre not abusing anything or it would have been ub.
thats the honest truth

you really need to contrive shit to get there
>>
>>110215569 cont
to drive the point home:
contrive shit like somehow dereferencing null
or doing mentally handicapped shit like taking the address of the member of an union
>>
>>110215555
you think you're being clever because you incremented the address of a local variable? are you being serious right now?
>>
>>110215581
NTA, but dereferencing null (or inaccessible memory) is better than dereferencing an otherwise incorrect pointer and getting the wrong value successfully. As I meant here >>110215562 it's literally the same problem as using incorrect array indices. Null is easily solved by checking but the real problem in huge old codebases is program state that has gotten out of hand, and being both in a situation where something is expected not to be null (but somehow is) and not necessarily having a proper or correct failure state to go into.
>>
>>110215562
>>110215569
>>110215617
I think my clever little leet haxor trick is triggering you. If you don't like me doing it the C compiler shouldn't let me do it.
>>
I wonder if I should finally learn Clojure. Maybe it will make me better, or more motivated.
>>
>>110215633
derefing null is a problem when you code baremetal
you can skip everything by just sacrificing the byte at the address 0

the other anon is uninformed, though, lets say
i was gonna say hes motherfucking retarded + seething + hes gonna die mad
but im trying to be civil, see
>>
>>110215641
nobody is gonna prevent you from being retarded
thats the spirit of c
you ARE free to do whatever you want
that includes mentally inbred shit
>>
>>110215651
But you don't like it. That's why you keep using ad hominem and appeal to the stone fallacies. You really want Rust not my clever C freedom.
>>

I don't think the C compiler should let you use it either but there's no solution to detecting you without some digital ID bullshit
>>
>>110215641
this is literally babbies first experience with C. what are you going to do next? allocate a page with execute permissions, fill it with some instructions, cast it to a function and call it and tell me how dangerous this all is?

everyone knows you can do this stuff with C, this is not incriminating or dangerous information to C programmers lmao
>>
>>110215668
why?
maybe you feel frustration in my discourse
and, yes, i would rather pot program at all actually
but c is the least painful
and, no, rust wont do it
rust is cool when you work in well trodden paths

in order to write a hello world i would need to learn a whole lot of seatbelts
thats not my usecase
im going from point a to a point b
and i can deal with the ines and zeroes
in fact,i find new ways to extract power from computers
my thing is turning onesinto zeroes and vice versa faster than was ever the case

i dont want rust. i dont want sepples
i want c bc it gets out of the way

is it the best possible? prolly not
is it the best available, and a standard accepted by everyone?
you bet your ass it is
>>
i do c.
i can code wafer scale fukken cerebrass
i can code many fpgas if not most of them
i can code gpus. opencl is actually opencl C
its the actual name of opencl lang
cuda?
its motherfucking c in the .cu files
you have no idea

c IS the lingua franca
its a cruel mistress
but if youre hard enough

she is the best thing ever

address sanitizer exists for this purpose.
but technically this is something that ought to be a warning (but never rely on warnings), and most AI's should easily catch this UB.
Depending on your code style, a more significant form of UB is reading uninitialized memory. Asan won't catch it, you need to use valgrind memcheck (dr memory on windows) but it runs 100000x slower for any graphical application (non-graphical is like 10-50x slower). Asan runs at almost full speed. Memory sanitizer exists (on linux only) and it's faster than valgrind + catches uninitialized memory usage, but it's not compatible with any sort of graphics (unless it's a terminal UI, you still need to build every library with msan, including ncurses if you use it, which is not very easy to do unless you already cross-compile your code and libraries).
And memory sanitizer is not compatible with asan or ubsan (you can combine asan with ubsan, not a good practice but most people spend 99% of their time with 1 build target, might as well use both if your code isn't test driven). Not being able to combine is annoying since memory sanitizer doesn't check everything asan and ubsan checks for (But you also can't use asan with valgrind, so you already need to make 2 separate builds for testing uninitialized memory errors, so that's one reason C doesn't enable address sanitizer by default since it breaks valgrind, other being core dumps being 100tb large so it's disabled by default but it's annoying because core dumps are useful if an error only happens without your debugger attached...).
>>
>>110216310
