It wasn't until I bought the 9800x3 that I found out that it was an ancient hag 2 year old piece of shit.I had to wait for zen 6.
Do you guys enjoy working on your computers after you build them?
>>110228714And will probably mess up zen6's launch like they always do, and make your purchase look like a 140iq play
>>110228728I used to.Now I just want the damn thing to work without problems so I can forget it even exists. After my horrible experiences with custom loop cooling, draining the loop multiple times, having pump issues etc... I want to put as little effort into computers as possible.
>>110228714you'll be waiting a while since no doubt AMD will delay launch for X3D again and release some non X3D CPUs nobody will buy again first
>>110228764Whoever decided that the 2 ccx x3d with heterogeneous cores should be launched first in early last year deserves their own special place in hell
>>110228728My PC just werks. All it has to do is play games and shitpost. The fucking home server made up of garbage parts is driving me mad. Every two weeks something wants to die or stop working or decide it doesn't need an internet connection or to be switched on. I want to just start again with a proper built one but everything as we know has skyrocketed.
>>110228687Ayo new anime goods just dropped
>>110228728Every time you boot up your computer you do micro-optimizations to make it better.
>>110228728Only time I open my PC back up is to dust it. I did add some more storage when I panic bought a couple SSDs and HDDs right before everything skyrocketed in price last year. But really that's it, like the guy above, my PC just werks, no need to fuck with it.
>>110228830>5060ti>8gb
>>110228728I'll put it this way. I bought a wire view pro 2 for my 5090 well after the fact. My power cable to my gpu was over the top of the card. I had a 180 degree adapter so it looked cleaner. The WVP2 only has a 90 degree rotation so if I wanted to maintain a clean look I'd have to route the cable under the card. My gpu barely fits in my case so rerouting the cable would require me to remove the card and my front intake fans. I was so lazy I just opted to get a WVP2 that would orient to the top and it looks goofy as hell with the cable just sticking up. I didn't want to take my card out. Maybe down the line I'll buy another WVP2 with the reverse connector and move the cable underneath the gpu.
Lol everything above 5060ti is basically discontinued.Every Nvidia card prior generation is also discontinued.Nvidia basically doesn't sell anything other than AI super chips or dogshit laptop ewaste.
>>1102288955060ti 8gb got upgraded to the 3rd best Nvidia GPU now that the 5080 and 5090 are out of the conversation
Stop recommending Nvidia they are not for consumers anymore. You have more options with INTEL or AMD.
>>110228928The $1000 9070xt is incredible value you are right
>>110228899Just buy a new case lolThe havn bf360 and upcoming hs360 gives a lot of room to the GPU
>>110228941if he can't be assed to take out a gpu no chance in hell does he wanna do a case swap lol
>cheapest 9070xt is £850>cheapest 5070ti is £1050
>>110228953what an awful time to upgrade my PC
>>110228953id unironically spend £1000 on an nvidia card before i spend £800 on an amd one
>>110228975What you’re describing is basically marginal utility per pound. A rational consumer picks whichever option gives the most satisfaction for each pound spent. By saying you’d pay £1000 for the Nvidia card before £800 for the AMD one, you’re saying the extra things Nvidia gives you (DLSS, CUDA, ray tracing performance, AI performance) are worth more to you than the £200 difference. The AMD card is cheaper, but it doesn’t give you enough utility to make up for what it lacks.Strictly speaking, economists would call this consumer surplus: your utility from the card minus what you paid. The Nvidia card leaves you with more surplus even at the higher price, because you don’t see the two as perfect substitutes. If you did, you’d just buy the cheaper one.
>>110228830What does tranime like this have to do with gaming?
Where are the DDR4 Z790/Z690 motherboards? I don't want to pay $140 for a B760 board with poverty tier I/O. Two PCIE X1 slots? 3 SATA ports? 6 USB ports? Give me a break.
>>110229063New ones coming in January with Raptor Lake Next.
>>110229063i just bought a B760 :c

>>110229175i mean you'll have 32gb instead of 16 and with a 14400f the speed of the ram doesn't really matter

>>110229175Nigger, a PC without dual-channel RAM cannot be considered a gaming PC.>>110229229>with a 14400f the speed of the ram doesn't really matterAny non-x3d CPU is demanding of RAM, especially intel with its zoo of cores and small L3 cache.
>>110228728Depends on the work. I've had to remove and install a bunch of m.2 drives and I fucking hate them so much. Literally the worst component ever invented.
>>110228728no, i don't even like the process of building them
>>110228728>Do you guys enjoy working on your computers after you build them?Yes. They all have usesXP/Win 7 machine mainly booted into NAS as a media centre, powers three XBox 360s as extenders. Occasionally booted into XP for multiplayer LAN gamesWith the second XP Machine that's my visual studio .net machineWindows 2K Pro Machine is my visual studio 6 MachineWin 10 SFF one is a lan games client dual boots into SUSE and has mainly python and tesnorflow and C as well as being a media server and kiwix NAS clientSecond Win 10 SSF is also SUSE and powers by MAME cabinet remotelyWin 10 1080Ti box is light gaming and AI stuffMy i5-14 3060s are on a KVM and do everything from gayming to online and clients for my blade servers and fibre san and GPU boards. Generally a couple are working in tandem running LLMs or occasionally genAI. One is good work open and the other is just for surfing and gayming and doing drone stuff.I use dell m1000e m620 blades hooked via a bocade switch to an md3600f full of SSDs and have two GPU boards, one is 4x vt100 32GB and the other is 2xA100. That's mainly for work which is taking databases that are a few hundred gig in size from ERP and accounting and auditing them for fraud and misgoverance, they are enough power to let me generally model all the variations in account and ERP client images when I need to or mount up forensics images for a accounting team at once. That being said I am thinking of stopping work because I don;t want to work anymore and have enough security to be able to
>>110229316>Nigger, a PC without dual-channel RAM cannot be considered a gaming PC.Unless you're on a high refresh rate monitor it's negligible.

>>110229379>no, i don't even like the process of building themThey make tablets for people like you. You can make them do stuff by poking your finger at them
What was wrong with last thread?
Seems solid? I tried building this piece by piece and it's near $2500 for the same parts.
>>110229390>dual rank is fasterI guess the whole DDR5 can't do 4 sticks is just propaganda to get people to accept 2 less DIMM slots

>>110229390>>110229520hang on a second fuckos all of those charts read 100-200 fps, with 100 fps being the minimum. I'll pull my old builds out of retirement and run a micro form of Linux before going full luddite mode. You know it I know it the dogs on the street know it. We are the dancers at the end of time. I'm just glad I have my computers and me to be offline with and have all the shit I need in place. The other option of staying connected is to horrendous in consequences to even consider. >>110229614oh I thought you meant offline like full unibomber mode. You mean offline as in no internet. I pretty much already do that. Like you I have all my home cameras connected via PoE to an entirely offline dedicated DVR and monitor. I ditched all streaming services forever ago and I never got scammed with cloud storage. I just want the AI bubble to pop or at least deflate a little so I can buy backups of everything. Backup SSDs, HDDs, GPUs, etc. As is I have my entire machine undervolted to have as little heat and power usage as possible so I can extend my hardware for as long as possible. I used to sell my old builds and hardware but honestly now, I'm just going to keep everything.
