The plane took off with nowhere near enough fuel because of a combination of a computer fault and human error (the dumbass Leaf airport worker who was responsible for fueling the plane wasn't sure whether to use metric or imperial lol)
They should have been completely fucked but Pearson managed to save them by putting it down on a raceway strip with this maneuver. Zero deaths; just a few minor injuries from the escape chutes deploying incorrectly because of plane sitting on its nose when it lost the front wheel on landing
