It's weird how people are embarrassed of being extra safe. The man knew it was dangerous but rather than run and warn the woman, he gives a little jog just before it hits because it's not as "embarrassing." He almost died and she died because people genuinely feel that being safe by running or whatever you have to do to be safe looks weird when there's no "obvious" danger.

I've seen similar situations before where somebody got seriously injured because they half assed a situation and it derailed their life. Likewise I've had a retard mention that people on the bus was looking at me when I ran and climbed up a wall because a car turned wrong and drove at me but it was said as though I overreacted.

I think you're projecting. The people in that video were not fully aware of the danger ahead, which is why that woman falsely felt safe enough to dance. Waves are deceptive. People do not know how powerful they are. I remember almost getting washed away once in Panama. I had never seen waves that violent. We had been warned, but even when the danger came, my friend and I didn't take steps to keep ourselves safer. It was just me and him and we didn't care if we looked stupid because at one point we were climbing on trees on the ground to evade the waves.

I had the reaction of the guy in that video, where it doesn't look as bad and you think you can just outpace it. It's not about embarrassment and the story you told about you getting out of the way for a car tells me that you felt a bit embarrassed for some guy telling you that it looked funny when you climbed the wall.

In reality, most people run when they appreciate the danger.
