Image based media (like doujins and imagesets) are incredibly small and easy to store, my recommendation is that anybody who wants to make sure they keep access to their favorite doujins should get a decent drive (SSD or HDD doesn't really matter, ideally you get two and toss them in a RAID 1 config), and just start downloading. Hitomi downloader is great for Windows, not really for macOS. Sometimes e/xhentai will have torrent download options, but it's not guaranteed. Same for images from Pixiv, videos from wherever you get videos, even for more "normal" stuff like YouTube videos. Shit gets taken down and drives fail all the time, if it's something you care about keeping access to, download it.

On gelbooru you can type "sort:score" in the search bar but the only way I can figure out to filter low score posts on exhentai is through the advanced search minimum star rating filter which isn't very helpful. Sorry I can't add anything of substance to the thread. The news of Myrient shutting down fucked me up but if the hentai archive sites go down too I'd probably off myself.
