But it IS the one I vibe with the most, and the one I find myself coming back to repeatedly. For starters, the way the characters are illustrated in this OVA is easily the best and most faithful to the VNs, which is something I really appreciate in adaptations. Ep. 2 has a few good shots, but is ultimately just.. fine, I feel. But Episode 1? That I absolutely love. I can't even remember how much fluid I've lost watching the soldiers thoroughly gangrape Sakura and Murasaki, turning their flesh holes into a defeated leaking mess. Whether its them impregnating Sakura with reckless abandon or using Murasaki's breedable asshole, this is one of, if not my favorite scene in all the OVAs.2.) Hell Knight IngridAbsolute cinema, and probably the only OVA in the entire lineup that keeps its quality consistently high throughout all its episodes. While there are a few narrative choices made in this OVA I don't particularly care for (like shifting the focus from Murasaki to Ingrid, which inadvertently eliminates Sakura from the story) What we do get, is a fresh new story, with new scenarios. The new scene with Murasaki through the wall in particular is probably my favorite scene in the OVA overall, followed by Ingrid's prostitution scene. Only other criticism I have is that sometimes the characters can look a little "off." But it was never enough to dislike the OVA as a whole. Oh.. and never forget what they took from us in Ep.4.

Its a certified hood classic, most likely the OVA that got everyone here into the series in the first place, the voice acting is superb (Actually the voice acting in both this and TA3 is really well done,) and its animation style is easily the most impactful of all the OVAs.... Thaaat said, yeah, I have some issues with this OVA. The characters look like they could be different characters altogether, The background flashing lights are an eye sore, the in and out focus makes you miss good shots, and the shaky cam can get ridiculous at times. Not to mention, the quality of the episodes declines from 1 to 4, with Episode 4 being almost totally ignorable, in my opinion. However, despite these faults, it’s still a must-watch, especially since some of the liberties taken are actually good decisions most of the time, e.g., Sakura’s massive tits and a scene with both sisters together.4.) Witch Of Steel AnnerosePretty solid, but not perfect. I also feel this declined from Ep.1 to 4. Episode 1 is great with scenes from Aishwarya and Mitico that are amazing. And Ep.2 having my favorite scene from all the episodes with Annerose being at the complete mercy of Mayfeng's gang, not leaving a single hole unfucked. And the way Mayfeng was getting into it with her fingering and licking Annerose's orgasm, very sexy. Art direction is really good too, but the lack of a real Mayfeng scene and... that fucking ending with the plant. It could've been a lot better. Ep.3 feels completely forgettable (except Aish scene,) and 4 feels mostly forgettable. It's fine tho.
>>88598955.) Taimanin YukikazeThe first episode is amazing, great illustration (that's a big thing for me), and the scenes with Yukikaze were really sexy. But after that… Holy fuck, what happened? The development hell this OVA went through, combined with a change in direction, made it feel very disjointed. Which sucks, since Rinko is my favorite TY girl, and the quality drops as soon as her episode comes up. The animation takes a noticeable nosedive, and almost nothing good is taken from the source material. Episode 2, at most, might be considered “serviceable,” but Episode 3 is a complete flop, worth skipping. Not much else to say. RIP, original Episode 2.6.) Taimanin Asagi 2While the art direction is good, the animation takes a noticeable hit compared to most other OVAs. In fact, this might have the stiffest animation in the collection. But there is some good stuff in here. The gangbang with Asagi and Sakura in Episode 2 has some really decent shots. With Sakura fucked by the Orc's probably being my favorite scene. TA2 actually has the opposite problem from the others in which Ep.1 is the forgettable one, while 2 is at least watchable. Nothing really worth wild happens in Ep.1 (skip it.) The Igawa sisters getting pilloried and fucked by anyone/everyone is a hot concept, and unlike Hell Knight we actually do get to see a Beast fuck our heroine in this OVA, tho the animation holds it back. Not great, but I do find myself skimming through Ep.2 every blue moon.

TA3 has Sakura and Murasaki's gangrape, Hell Knight has Ingrid's and Murasaki's prostitution, TA1 has non-stop pounding animation, Steel Witch has Annerose gangbang, Taimanin Yukikaze has Yukikaze submission, Taimanin Asagi 2 has Asagi and Sakura pillory. Taimanin Shiranui has next to nothing that draws me to it. I can think of one shot that gets my attention and that's of Shiranui's ass when she's double penetrated, but it's so static and censored it's not really all that good. I dislike the aspect ratio making the scene long and narrow, the story is thinly veiled and isn't from any source material, it's just meh all around. At best I can say at least the art direction is good.From all this, if I could create my ideal OVA with my taste in mind, it would have the art direction of TA3, the animation of TA1 and the creative ideas of Hell Knight combined into one OVA.

To be honest, I'm not much of an OVA fan in general. Whether it's the production values, directing, characterization, storytelling, or some combination of all four, something always falls apart in these. Even TA1, the OVA which I'd consider to be the best, has a ton of annoying directorial quirks. And as a massive Sakurafag, her OVA counterpart gets done dirty on the character and utility side of things. Her big, floppy udders are pretty hot, though.

The first Annerose episode had insane quality. It rivaled high budget mainstream anime at the time. The OVA series had so much potential, but it was ep3 and ep4 that weren't handled properly. They chose the wrong changes to make to scenes in ep3, and then ep4 chose to exclude the best part of the bad ending.

I remember the third and fourth episode coming very close together contrary to the first episodes. We didn't get the Mayfeng scene, we didn't get the tentacle rape scene with Michiko... We needed a whole episode of Annerose as a slave too. Also the troll looks like an orc.
