...and these are Byzantines according to American TV show lol
>>
cool but too many swastikas for Eastern Roman soldiers, maybe the occasional one on a shield but not displayed prominently. What show btw?
>>
>>17958060
Are those...dreadlocks? Did they wear those?
>>
>>17958099
not op but my guess is that they’re portraying varangian guards
>>
>>17958057
I'm not really a byzantine expert but looks good enough. The armour could be better fitted I think, but scale, metal helmet, spatha seems about right.

Something about Muhammad's Persian buddy
>>
Phokas probably?
>>
>>17958118
Could ill-fitting armour be more realistic? It wouldn't be bespoke, it would be the ancient world equivalent of mass produced, to fit as many body sizes as possible.

looks suspiciously like bannerlord

>the 21st century Turkish-Persian war will be about historical soap opera ratings
kino
>>
>>17958070
What century?
>>
>>17958057
In what Age it took place? That looks really good for a early Byzantine look, aside the weird use of swastikas
>>
>>17958080
Maybe they're Armenians
>>
Nothing will beat the arabic tv show with Heraclius
>>
>>17958057
>>17958060
wtf so you're telling me i would actually be watching TV if it was iranian made?
>>
>>17958135
3 bannerlord factions are Byzantium.
>>
>>17958128
Poorly fitting armour is a hazard in combat and restricts mobility. That's important. They'd fasten it with straps however they could atleast.
>>
>>17958208
Is funny how Turkish, Arab and Persian media are ones who portrait byzanturds most respectfully, I wonder why is that?

Around Muhammad's time but before conquests

Then aside the weird swastikas these are rather accurate costumes. Kudos to the towelheads/carpet sellers for once
>>
>>17958060
Why are they wearing swastikas
>>
>>17958127
Nice detail with the Molossal/Mastiff dog breed from which all "Bully" breeds descend. They were famous Dogs of War dating back to deepest Antiquity. They were first bred in Epirus, the home of Alexander's mother. The Romans and Conquistadors also had their own variations. They're sweet puppies, just don't make them made.

Anything other than the ubiquitous, black leather, biker bullshit that plagues every "Historical" movies. Of course, it's all done on purpose. The uglier and more boring they can make it seem, the less folks will want to learn about the facts of the matters being shown. The best part is that if the Seethe Squad makes an issue of it, more folks will learn the Truth, but if they do nothing, then the Truth wins again and real facts and history become normalized again......nice ;)

Aside from the Persians, the other two just aren't very kino. The Byzantines were Game of Thrones on steroids and had more drip than RuPaul's Drag race. There's nothing a writer can come up with that is crazier, or more aesthetic than the stuff that really happened. I wouldn't want to live there, but it would've been wild to visit at its peak. (Ptolomeys would be a close second. Equally bonkers too)

This one is actually impressive. Only minor stuff il not into are the decoration in the purple robe. A Little too Sassanid (and the lack of beard), but aside that its almost perfect

>and the lack of beard
>Brought back beards in the Roman empire
>Don't give him a beard
Weird decision.
