remember the 90s when SJWs were obsessed with liberating Tibet even though they didn't have any ideas of how that could be accomplished short of starting World War III with China?
>>
>>17962910
It was the right thing to want then as it is now, Palestine deserved its freedom then too
>>
>>17962939
I want my own government too and only pay taxes to myself. how can i do?
>>
>>17962910
remember when tibet was a theocracy where a large minority of the population was slaves until the CPC liberated it?
none of the FREE TIBET libs do
>>
>>17963038
>Tibet was a bit archaic, like most non-western countries
>This totally justifies the brutal oppression and colonization of Tibet by the CCP
>>
>>17963047
The lefty fags that parrot that talking point also cry about le native Americans and Hamas when said argument means the Jews and Americans are 100% moral to do what they did
>>
>>17963038
>>17963047
Same niggas cry about colonizing le poor amerindian while using the same arguments colonialists did lmao

I don't care about Tibet but sinophiles are delusional, and that coming from a long time respecter of China and Chinese Civilization.
>>
>>17963052
Based fellow rational anon
>>
>>17963047
>a bit archaic
how many countries in the late 1940s were theocratic slave states again?
>>
>>17963248
All free muslim cunts
>>
>>17963248
I mean, Lybia and Mauritania have open air slave Markets, TODAY.

Doesn't mean they should be invaded, culturally assimilated and forcefully incorporated into a foreign nation to be "liberated" or "civilized".
>>
>>17963286
which were?
african muslim areas were part of the french or british empires, the middle east was split between france and britain, india was british, indonesia was part of the dutch empire, central asia was part of the soviet union
turkey was a secular republic and iran was a soviet-british puppet state
so turkey, the secular republic governed by people that hated islam and wanted to be western, was a theocratic slave state?

>>17963293
libya has slave markets because gaddafi had to be overthrown because he threatened the petrodollar. how many slave markets did it have before the NATO "liberation"?
>>
>>17962910
whatever happened to the Free Tibet thing anyway?
>>
>>17963297

Still, Gaddafi or not, is it justifiable to INVADE A SOVEREIGN NATION, ANNEX THEM AND CULTURALLY ASSIMILATE THEM, just because they are "le slavery backward savages!", this is the same argument they used on the amerindian peoples and that israelis use on palestinians.

It doesn't matter if they are "le slavery savages", there is something called self determination of peoples, that you guys conveniently forget, but I guesd imperial expansion is based if its "our guys"

Fuck off, at least admit you want to imperially expand, dont sugarcoat it on bullshkt, you'd be more respected if you didn't pretend to be le humanitarian
>>
>>17963298
it was part of the larger tiananmen square color revolution plot so when that flopped, it was discredited and the weegar genocide claims were brought in as a replacement
>>
>>17963298
China is just too strong, it's the fate of weaker peoples to be subdued by stronger nations. See I can say this without some retarded leftist doublethink
>>
>>17963306
tibet had been a theocratic slave society for hundreds, if not a thousand, years and was never going to change
libya was a relatively modern country that was forced back a thousand years because foreigners didn't like that libya wasn't a shithole

they're not comparable no matter how you try to spin it /pol/tranny
>>
>>17963310
seething all because that anon is right
>>17963308

>>
>>17963310
Even if they were an eternal cannibal rape cult IT IS NEVER JUSTIFIED MORALLY TO INVADE AND CONQUER OTHER PEOPLE AND ANNEX THEIR TERRITORY this is where you are braindead. Imperialist isn't okay if "our guys do and they end slavery or so", nations have the right to self determination, this isn't 1836. We have something called an international community, united nations and propper diplomacy.now to combat evils like slavery WITHOUT IMPERIALISM AND MILITARISM
>>
>>1796332

I think China should just come off and say "Yeah we conquered them and imperially annex them so what? What are you gonna do about it? Boo fucking hoo faggot the clay is ours" instead of this contrived half bullshit

As for you, you are not wrong but your libshittery nauseates me a little. Touch grass.

>>17963312
Thanks, appreciate it
>>
>>17963326
>IT IS NEVER JUSTIFIED MORALLY TO INVADE AND CONQUER OTHER PEOPLE AND ANNEX THEIR TERRITORY
Yes it is. Consider Chechnya, the millisecond they got self-determination they became a global jihadist hub. Russia was 100% justified in bringing them to heel. IMO invading theocratic nations (most cases seem to be Muslim but Tibet is a Buddhist example) is always justified.
>>
>>17963337
See this is a lot less faggy than before, I can respect, you're still wrong but at least you sound like less of a faggot

That said, cechnya didn't need to be annexed, you can do an operation there or in tibet without ending their sovereignty
>>
>>17962910
The "Free Tibet" fad was purestrain 90's End of History triumphalism. All the "serious" communist countries had been defeated and dismantled, and China was still not entirely out of its basket case phase. To a Western ruling class high as a kite on the fumes of the final and eternal victory of Liberal Capitalism, the idea very much was that China was now so weak and isolated, and communism so "disproved", that all you had to do was give a little push to a few groups opposed to Beijing and the whole country would fall apart on its own. Tibet was a perfect mascot for this in the western media because of the various territories of China it had the longest and most cohesive history as an independent state and separate culture, and had the Dalai Lama as the perfect spokesman.
No need to worry about nukes when you assume the Chinese middle class and various independence movements will overthrow the CCP for you.
Of course it's blaringly obvious in hindsight how dumb and shortsighted this was. But that was the spirit of the age.
>>
>>17963038
If the CPC's goal was liberation why didn't they install a local communist party government to rule Tibet then withdraw? Why did "liberation" require annexation?
>>
>>17963050
>>17963052

Tibet and Uyghurs are solely used as a point of subversion to destroy China. Nobody actually gives a shit about Tibet.
>>
>>17963463
Yeah my problem with them leftists is they pretend they are great humanitarians who actually do care abou the plight of the fellow tibetan man

I don't actually care, vae victis, woe to the vanquished, prey dies, predators eat, such is and ALWAYS WILL be the way

Shit I'd almost endorse them if theh actually had the balls to say, "Yeah we invaded these people, we might as well genocide them, they are weak we are strong, might makes right", would be more honest and virile

Instead they must propagandize and PR about the greatness of China and say"It's totes different guys! It's liberation!"

I can respect honest brutal people, I cannot endorse, but at least I respect the honesty

I cannot respect weasels, one of the reason I cannot respect modern politics and think it all turned gay after WWI, miss when armies just invaded without bullshit justificatikns and claimed superiority

Moralfagging greatly upsets me
>>
>>17963487

In the old days China copied the USSR's system of internal travel restrictions. These were mostly abolished in the 80s, with the exception of Tibet which to this day you need special permission to visit and you will be accompanied by a CCP minder at all times.
>>
>>17963463
And guess what, that's the exact same thing with criticism of Western imperialism and colonialism
>>
The British had decided to leave Tibet as a buffer zone between China and India, but by annexing it China unwisely gave themselves a border with India that has seen prodigies of clashes and border disputes since.

There are many mutts that try to pretend to be knowledgeable on the subject of these cultures to get people to take their stance. By far the dumbest, most pampered, soft hand sissies ever. They are very facetious and dishonest. They will never admit that they are scared of China. They always try to leverage morality onto every problem to make it seem like the CCP parking soldiers and threatening the Buddhists on some mountain is the biggest concern ever for me.
Hearing whites do this so often has led me to see Amnesity International and the UN as extensions of white colonization. I literally chuckle every time I hear a timmy talk about these things.

Chinese don't even give a consistent reason as to why they destroyed these countries. They probably did it to destroy any future strife in the country, but in my head, they did it as revenge for turkic invasions of the past.
I'm not Chinese. If I were though, I would never want the respect of a mutt. It's a very good thing that I do not have your envious gaze of a dirty mutt on my character because I would never be able to reciprocate any semblance of respect for you and it would make me look VERY rude, which is a vibe I don't like giving off.

To my recollection, the "Free Tibet" movement doesn't even want Tibet to secede from the PRC and become its own country, but to change its status to an autonomous region.
>>
>>17963297
>which were?
Saudia Arabia and North Yemen were completely free and were worse than Tibet, as were some of Britains protectorates like Oman.
But you don't even need to go that far away to find a society comparable to Tibet, they had 3 independent neighbours to the south, Nepal, Sikkim, and Bhutan.

It wasn’t even about geopolitics so much as naive hippie crap, imagining Tibet as a wellspring of pure Boodiss spirituality oppressed by an evil materialistic empire. A Free Tibet bumper sticker was a fashion accessory on the Subaru of every suburban yoga mom. This stuff even made inroads in the punk community—a virtue signal that you weren’t just on the right side of history but an enlightened being as well.
I lived in Colorado during the 90s and this shit was everywhere, along with rumors that local Tibetan spiritual leaders were really CIA fronts in the battle against Red China.

>Tibet and Uyghurs are solely used as a point of subversion to destroy China. Nobody actually gives a shit about Tibet.
Here's the problem, anon. There was all this hand-wringing and sniffling and sobbing about how evil those imperialist bourgeoisie were.

Then the next day, those same crybabies, those very same crybabies, committed atrocities 1000x worse than any actual supposed imperialist atrocity (most of which was either made up by them, or self-inflicted but blamed on foreigners). The only difference is, the crying communists, who are constantly whining about all these supposed "imperialist wrongdoings," used propaganda to cover up the very mention of what they did, and refused to even acknowledge what they had done. They censored the truth, utterly shamelessly, like the lying dogs they are. Just like the dirty little liars they are.

They caused a self-inflicted famine on China that killed millions of people, then acted like it was somehow the fault of anyone but themselves. In the end, they are devious wimps, who would sell each other out for five cents if they could get away with it and often do, and they're poor liars too. I've seen how they operate.

The problem is that the Chink Communist Party is funding degeneracy all over the world as their way of trying to "subvert" it. In reality, they don't even know what they're doing.

The subversion will fail of course, but they are a nuisance and plain irritating. I am simply tired of dealing with their extremely tiresome and pedantic active measures that they are doing in my country. Such as the marxist group called BLM in 2020, funded by the CCP.

The problem here isn't really China, nor is it Tibet. It's simply that communism sucks. The real core principle of communism, i.e. "lie to get ahead," is a failure. The hypocrisy and waste of it all is staggering. I'm wondering when you people are finally going to understand that you can't lie your way out of this situation.

>Source: Deng Xiaoping, Answers to the Italian journalist Oriana Fallaci, August 21 and 23, 1980
So he blamed another guy that was already dead and used weird, qualified language to do it. That fits my definition. Did he accept any blame himself, anon?

As far as blaming Mao goes, he didn't say anything of the sort when Mao was alive and powerful. He waited until 1980 apparently to give us these revelations. And these are politically convenient things for him to say at that moment. This fits exactly what I was saying about all Marxists being shameless liars.
>>
>>17966002
The point of the quote was to show that Mao himself accepted blame for the famine. Also, Deng didn't entirely blame Mao for it, he said he should be held "primarily" responsible, which is a reasonable position considering that Mao was in charge at the time when it happened.
>>
>>17966010
>The point of the quote was to show that Mao himself accepted blame for the famine.
Because Deng said so in 1980? Dude, he was a shameless liar. He'll say anything to benefit him in that moment, including rewrite official narratives if he thinks it will be useful.

>Also, Deng didn't entirely blame Mao for it, he said he should be held "primarily" responsible, which is a reasonable position considering that Mao was in charge at the time when it happened.
Why wait until 1980? Why didn't he have this interview in 1965 or 1970 for example? The reason why is because he was a scared dog, like everyone else living there. The official propaganda in 1970 was that Mao was a god among men who never made a mistake ever. Deng would have been banished or executed for giving the interview then. Once the dictator died, then Deng felt safe to deflect blame onto Mao. But just like Mao when Mao was alive, Deng never allowed blame or responsibility onto himself, his own person, since that would never be politically useful to him. Maybe later some future communist would blame him for everything in another rewrite of history though. The communists, and other groups like the communists, will gladly eat each other alive if it means getting ten cents in their pocket tomorrow. Not only that, but some people in Guangxi actually did commit cannibalism in the name of communism at one point.

>Because Deng said so in 1980?
Because he did at the Lushan conference, which is what Deng was directly referencing.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lushan_Conference
>The original objective of the conference was to review the events of the Great Leap Forward and solve practical issues brought forth by those events. When the Lushan Conference began, the leadership was divided on questions of how the crisis had developed and what the response going forward should be.[4]:50 Mao was critical of his own role in the failures of the Great Leap Forward.[5] He described the backyard steel campaign he had promoted as a "great catastrophe" and criticized himself for pushing communization so fast.[5] In a July speech before the Lushan Conference, Mao states, "The chaos caused was on a grand level and I take responsibility for it."[5] Mao also defended the policies of the Great Leap Forward in general and communes in particular.[6]

>Not only that, but some people in Guangxi actually did commit cannibalism in the name of communism at one point.
Cannibalism happened because people in the deep south of china (and most of southeast asia) are savages. Those are the same people who cook animals alive today. This behavior predates communism by millenniums.

Truth doesn't matter if you have power flowing from the barrel of a gun, on that, Mao was very right.

That conference was damage control. By the mid-1960s, Mao started a populist uprising called the "Cultural Revolution" in order to re-obtain power. After he regained his position of power, anyone who said anything critical of him at any point would have been dealt with severely.

>In a July speech before the Lushan Conference, Mao states, "The chaos caused was on a grand level and I take responsibility for it."
He was a trickster. He probably thought it was his best bet to reduce tension over the issue and to help downplay it since he had literally caused the death of millions. And I personally believe those deaths had been his goal. He wanted people weak and demoralized so they couldn't overthrow his tyranny. Later, he pretended to be sorry to avoid a worse downfall.

I have good reason to conclude these communist atrocities were on a similar level to the Killing Fields. They were intentional atrocities that were literally meant to kill their own people. Pol Pot knew that if he worked the peasants to death, they would be less able to organize, communicate or rebel against him. In a self-centered act of evil, he chose to implement his policies in a way that intentionally killed more people.

Similarly Mao wanted to diminish the people, so he deliberately orchestrated the Great Leap Forward. He thought it would ensure his power. Josef Stalin did something very similar with the manmade famine that occurred under his reign in the 1930s. And this reliance on atrocities covered up with censorship is actually why communism couldn't last.

It is intentionally inefficient, and involves infantilizing its own people. As much as I might like aspects of China itself, the ideology of marxism is severely tarnishing its legacy the longer this goes on. It's also just a nightmare aesthetically speaking, which I think is due to the vampiric nature of the commie party princelings. Hey, at least they're Chinese, right? I guess this fake stuff is really the best you could do.

Nothing of what you say and accuse Mao of makes any logical sense.

>He wanted people weak and demoralized so they couldn't overthrow his tyranny.
Nobody wanted to overthrow him. He was a war hero who saved China, the economy was booming, living standards climbing, and morale was extremely high all over the country. That's why people went overboard during the GLF, because they had so much faith in Mao that they turned fanatical.

>Mao started a populist uprising called the "Cultural Revolution" in order to re-obtain power.
Mao willingly stepped down after the GLF because he lost faith in himself. He let Liu Shaoqi and Deng Xiaoping run the country for a few years. When he saw that they were taking China on the road towards capitalism, he decided enough was enough and took control back from them. This was a wildly popular move, and all the western observers who visited China during the CR thought that communism was there to stay forever in China.

>Josef Stalin did something very similar with the manmade famine that occurred under his reign in the 1930s.
Stalin did no such thing. The famines in both countries did have similar roots; a central government who demanded food from local officials that they didn't have. In USSR, this was because the Ukrainians started destroying their food in supply. In China, it was because local officials reported higher yields than they actually had in an attempt to make themselves look good. In both cases, those mistakes were rectified and famines ended.

>That's why people went overboard during the GLF, because they had so much faith in Mao that they turned fanatical.
They were willing to accept a lying dictator as long as he was at least Chinese.

>Mao willingly stepped down after the GLF because he lost faith in himself.
Absurd.

>all the western observers who visited China during the CR thought that communism was there to stay forever in China.
They were either idiots or simply fellow travelers. The downfall of the ideology will be swift, and I expect to see it in my lifetime. Let's just say, I see it in the cards, anon. And I think that's a good thing for everyone as this isn't a zero-sum game.

Also, do you think China was doing well in the 1800s when the drug opium was wildly popular? I personally don't think so, and I wish that somehow it never happened. Also since I'm on the subject it makes no sense to blame foreigners for this since the hidden reality of that era they don't want you to know was that there were many domestic growers of opium in China, obviously, who were also competing with the foreign merchants. Of course that doesn't make them look good, so it gets forgotten conveniently.

>the Ukrainians started destroying their food in supply.
Maybe it was a case of him projecting what his own intention was on his target? Maybe in reality, the kulaks actually weren't some kind of hivemind emergent intelligence that just collectively decided, through magic psychic powers or something, to unilaterally collaborate against the dictator who controlled the army. Maybe, just maybe... he simply made that up because he wanted to see people starve, anon? Sometimes the truth isn't as "interesting" as the propaganda version of events.

>In China, it was because local officials reported higher yields than they actually had
Mao intentionally exported grain, knowing what was going to happen. Later he pretended to be sorry, maybe he cried some crocodile tears, when it didn't work quite as he had planned.

man, its almost like the chinese understand they're vulnerable to a naval blockade and have spent the better part of a decade building a massive network of roads and railroads across asia and the middle east to deal with that weakness, while also heavily specializing in land based anti-capital ship missiles specifically to destroy any blockading forces
but surely we just need to kick in the door and the whole rotten house will come tumbling down! that always works

>The downfall of the ideology will be swift, and I expect to see it in my lifetime.
Hasn't that already happened economically?
