So God had Adam and Eve's Hebrew descendants follow all these laws he created in the Torah for thousands of years, knowing full well it was impossible for them to follow them, and that they needed Jesus as a loophole. Why didn't he just make Eve give birth to Jesus right away, have Adam nail him to the Tree of Knowledge and forgive their sins? Why the long drawn out bullshit for thousands of years and counting?
>>17965177>for thousands of years1500 years tops
>>17965202He was giving them laws since Cain and Abel.
>>17965177>something something free will>Lucy.png
>>17965212the "Law" was taken from the jews and placed over them as a yoke to which they are enslaved. That is the Law of Moses that the Jews must follow if they hope to redeem the old covenant.
>>17965233But whyJust send Jesus to die for Adam and Eve's sins on day 2 and stop playing games
>>17965285If you are so smart become your own god and do it your own way, or else stop whining like a child fr stfu
>>17965313Maybe I will!
>>17965177>>17965285See the following:"For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night."- Psalm 90:4"For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry."- Hebrews 10:36-37
>>17965177Have you even read the New Testament? The Jews literally misinterpret the law in the most wicked uncharitable way possible: "Dont work on Sabbath" >ok so Jews prevent Jesus from healing on Sabbath because hes technically workingAnd OP decides to make a thread on how Jews were just following their law. No. Jesus proved the hypocrisy of the religious leaders, and came to absolve original sin. The evidence points to the resurrection of Jesus.
>>17966342No, no one ever followed the law. So what was the point? God was just wasting everyone's time. Just send Jesus on day 2 in the Garden of Eden and get it over with.
>>17965177>>17965285beyond the main ten commandments, the specific Mosaic laws given to the Hebrews in the wilderness were situational for that context they were in as a survival mechanism and to prove their obediance and keep them in line since they were just that unruly of a people and faltered away from God at literally every opportunity every single time - these laws were never supposed to be legalistically followed to the letter or excessively as >>17966342 says - also it's hard to know whether all those rule sections in Leviticus etc were a later rabbinical addition to the text or not; who knows what the original versions of those parts of the Torah actually looked like when they were first written closer to Moses' actual time.>>17966431the whole point of humans gaining 'the knowledge of good and evil' means they have an understanding of morality and sin and the whole reason they ate the fruit was with the idea that they could be as good as God himself if they had the knowledge. If God had solved the sitution immediately it would mean the humans would never know themselves if they really could be as good as God or not. Also sending Jesus to be sacrificed immediately doesn't make sense when barely any sins had been commited by that point; the whole point of Jesus is that humans, despite having the knowledge of good and evil, have spent SO FUCKING LONG willingly choosing evil for thousands of years that it thouroughly proves that they are definitely incapable of ever being as good as God and so a savior is definitely needed. Jesus isn't just a insta-salvo to take like a painkiller at the first sign of discomfort - Jesus is the last resort 'smash glass in case of humanity is irreparably fucked and doomed' Messiah button.
>>17965177>knowing full well it was impossible for them to follow them, and that they needed Jesus as a loophole.Citation needed.God specifically said the opposite when he gave them the law.>Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.>See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
It’s funny the only religion Jews have created is one in which God is a tyrant whose laws you have to follow to the book or you go to hell. For Jews, god is a Tyrant with a contract( set of laws) and Jews try to find loopholes in it like lawyers. It’s all so tiring God didn’t create any laws, he is not a judge or lawyer. Everyone is Gods choosen including the nig born in a hut.
>>17966431>God was just wasting everyone's time.?? How. Are you even aware of Old Testament cosmology of Sheol containing Abrahams Bosom which is basically a non-tormenting state after hell where you're chilling with the old testament saints? This wasn't even about law at this point, it was about just being overall a good person, that was also an old testament law; it was Jews, most of them, who became scrupilous to the point of sin; and God didn't make them do that, that's just their own fault. You're basically saying God made Cain kill Abel. God made Sodom And Gommorah degenerate, God made Judas betray Jesus, etc. etc. etc.
>>17965177>it was impossible for them to follow themIt was quite possible. They didn't. So God took another approach - he Incarnated himself to show'em how it's done and revealed what they should've figured by themselves. Apparentlly man could not / would not do it unless given a shot at being One with GOD!
>>17968860That's not the story of the New Testament. Paul says it's impossible to follow the law, that's why Jesus had to be sacrificed. Why do people that know nothing about the Bible leave comments? Is this basically all Christians?
>>17968133>You're basically saying God made Cain kill Abel. The New Testament says God predestines people to be the way they are before they're born
>>17965285I don't want to take the "God works in mysterious ways" cope, but recently I was thinking about the Second Coming still hasn't happened after nearly 2,000 years. I then thought about how if it had happened earlier, I may never have been born, and thus not have gotten the chance to love God and be loved by God. Had the First Coming happened earlier, perhaps a butterfly effect would've occurred that would've prevented all of us ITT from ever existing.
>>17969080>Why do people that know nothing about the Bible leave comments?Ah, yes the pride sin! Where prots excell. How about you read a proper Bible with all of its 78 books - 73 canonic and 5 good to read with the OT properly translated by native greek speaking jewish scholars that knew what they were doing and not by some antichristian and antiChrist masorete scribes changing every meaning according to their demonic talmudic practices. And when you're done doing that, read the Holy Fathers of The Church - start with Saint John Chrysostom!
>>17969629by that line of thinking, the second coming ever happening would be a bad thing
>>17969659Only to the evil ones
>>17969722And to future people who may not be born because of it
Apparently, the Law was needed prepared humanity for redemption.Galatians 3:24
>>17965177>why does evolution take so long?
>>17969629>>17969659have you considered that perhaps the reason why the apocalypse/end of days/second coming happens is because Earth finally gets to the point where no more worthwhile humans can possibly be born/salvaged because humanity has become so sinful again? Jesus does say afterall>as it was in the days of Noahthe flood is supposed to have happened because humanity was just that irredeemably bad, so maybe the countdown to when the apocalypse/second coming happens is actually 'when the world finally runs out of being able to produce good people'Revelation does describe the final days as being really really bad where almost everyone is worshipping the Beast/Satan and it has become near-impossible not to, afterall
>>17969084Thats not what the Church has ever taught. This "robot" interpretation of predestination is an invention from 1700 AD going forward
