It's all such a fucking scam. You're born into a system that's designed to make you suffer from the get-go, suffering and deterioration are built into the core of it. From the second you exist you're limited, suffocated, and shoved into a losing game where you're just a slowly rotting piece of meat. You have to fight and claw against everyone else because that's the only way to exist, constantly hurting or being hurt. And the worst part is you're completely, utterly alone in it all because no one can ever truly understand anyone else, we're all just isolated consciousnesses trapped in our own heads. The entire ride from birth to death is just one long terminal decline. Life doesn't have a meaning you're supposed to find, it's a fundamentally broken structure and pretending it's a gift is the ultimate cope.

He is said to have created what is translated as a Pure Land (literally "Buddha sphere") where practitioners can be reborn when they die and in this realm there is no suffering and it is easy to reach enlightenment. This school also happens to be the most popular form of Mahayana Buddhism although also somewhat obscure in the West, which has been more keen on Zen/Chan studies.
