How different would the world be today?

They either succeed and eventually manage to convert all of mainland Asia into a communist stronghold, or they get bogged down hard from decades of guerilla war in China, leaving the US as the sole superpower post WW2.
Japan is the way that it is today because of Americas involvement in its postwar redevelopment that wouldn't happen in this timeline. My prediction is that Japan remains a monarchy, and China develops in a similar way to India under British rule with a strict caste system and most of its internal conflict never being solved in a meaningful way leaving it in a similar state to India, aka a bigger shithole than it is currently, except full of Asians.
China would not be the authoritarian Communist shithole it is today. Imperial Japan was by far one of the greatest nations on this earth, and one of the only Asian nations in history that I wholeheartedly respect.
