Most major MMT theorists are former Marxists or were students of Marxist thought
It allows them to continue with the assumption that people are oppressed and we can take things from others and achieve equal outcomes with no consequences.
>>
Marxists believe value comes from how much work is put into the product/service, it is safe to disregard any other monetary ideas they might have for they are retarded. It's like saying "Okay so 5+2=mailbox. Fellow mathematicians, let's begin our debate!"
>>

What a bunch of retards!

Obviously the way it works is that the value of the work is determined by how much the product/service is valued for at sale! If the thing is sold for 100 dollars and it took 10 hours to make, negotiations start at 10 dollars an hour for the value of the labor.

>Marxists love modern monetary theory
is there a single libertarian on earth that is not mentally retarded

MMT is basically Neo-Keynesianism and a reaction to neoliberalism like neoliberalism was to the old Keynesian consensus.

Marxists are anti-MMT. I don't remember exactly what their arguments against it are, but I think it essentially comes down to that the old Keynesian order was built on the Bretton Woods system and an export economy with very little international competition and that trying to bring it back is basically impossible.

The labor theory of value is used for alienation, not for exchange value, which is itself determined through markets.
For instance, if I work 5 hours to assemble a chair, and the market believes it to be exchangeable for 10$, my value of my labor on this object = 2$.
Wages don't follow this principle and the labor value isn't determined through the exchange value, but through fixed contracts with employers.
Given that I don't really have a choice and have to work for them, that means I'm necessarily getting robbed, or "alienated" from my work given that I become a machine.

The value in MMT is just its redefinition of money. In the actual world, money is an object that people value more than the actual material assets they have. "I would be happier if I only had more money". Fiat money should be considered fake and not scarce if being used for productive means. Money is irrelevant outside of excess consumption if your basic needs are met.

Actual MMT preachers though still don't provide a clear idea of how it can used in practice that doesn't still just devalue humans into economic units to control.

I'm not a libertarian. I'm a distributist. Besides, your entire comfortable existence is due to capitalism so you can go online and bitch about it.

There's a ton of Marxist critiques of it out there, most of them by WSWS.
>>
>>17982966
Lmao, not real Marxists. They are radlib LARPers who found a new state-worshipping religion. MMT is just *capitalism with a printer go brrr* for people who think reading theory is for nerds.
