For centuries, it was Turks at the forefront of Islamic expansion. Mohammadeans were synonymous with Turks. When and how did the Arabs take that mantle and why are the Turks not geopolitically relevant anymore?

You might think the Saracens became synonymous with Muslim but that wasn’t the case. For Turks at least, as the Europeans knew to differentiate between them and the Saracens.

When Arabs and Persians were at the forefront Islam expanded rapidly, including the entirely peaceful conversion of Indonesia, Somalia, Swahili, Maldives, Mali, Nigeria, etc, which even Europeans were not capable of doing in the colonial age. When Turkic mongoloids were at the forefront the Islamic expansion halted and the golden age of Islam came to an end.
