>>17996312This happened to me once in the US Air Force training back in maybe 2005, I attended a classroom where we watched a internal military documentary about combat medics in Iraq and Afghanistan running a very busy and stressful field hospital, and it showed horrific injuries and very pathos-oriented human suffering. It was very moving and heroic and harrowing. But at the time I was in my 20s and I lacked self-control so my irrepressible instinct was to grin and chuckle, not in a malicious way but out of recognition in the absurdity of life. But there were several sergeants and a lieutenant who took my reaction as mockery and I got in big trouble with them for being rude by laughing. Of course there was no way for me to explain myself so I just took it as a life lesson to watch how you act around other people who don't care about you.
