people will keep their mouth shut out of fear
>>
I bet you think Trump having soldiers patrolling the streets is a good thing because something-something 'crime rate'.
>>
I run my mouth all the time despite knowing everything I say is recorded, cataloged and tied to my identity and in the very near future will be used to strip opportunities from me if not outright imprison/kill me. Do I care? no not really

It's wild that you think Trump has "soldiers patrolling the streets" in the first place. Which MSNBC anchor told you that?

What?

I have the evidence of my eyes. Illegally federalised National Guardsmen and Marines on American streets as a show of force to their own citizenry, an unspoken Rule By Fear. Just because you didn't see them in your podunk hick flyover state doesn't mean it didn't happen.

do you think the national guard sent to prevent the latino riots flaring up like the floyd riots are trump's personal shock troopers

>soldiers patrolling the streets is a good thing
You have to live in fear and discipline or else you start degenerating in your character, morals, etc.

The good news is it will all be over soon. Historically when one political side murders a high profile figure of the opposite side and there is NO public push back or outrage then the side who commits the murder will win an autocratic takeover of the country. This is the way in all totalitarian take overs.

In Nazi Germany in the 1920s the Nazis murdered Foriegn Minister Walther Rathanau and there was zero pushback from the people, in fact the newspapers jeered and derided Rathanau.

In fascist Italy, the fascist take over was solidified with the murder of left wing journalist Matteo Giancuomo. In fact Mussolini’s government was thrown into chaos from the scandal and was almost toppled but they weathered the pushback and consolidated power.

Then there was Republican Rome. The senate made a bid for power by murdering Julius Caesar. The pushback was instantaneous and immediate. The entire capital erupted in a multi day city wide riot which ended with the burning down of the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus which was used as a funeral pyre of the Roman leader. The perpetrators were hunted down, proscribed and 2000 years later are remembered as history’s greatest turncoats to the same level as Judeas and Arnold, Benedict.

That leads us to now… if there is no pushback in the next 48 hours, Democracy is over. Ccolleges and Universities will ban all political speakers and use the murder of Charlie Kirk as the justification to stop all further speech and debate.

Assuming the president will do nothing (he is all bluster anyway) it will mean the end of free elections. It meant that in Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. We have seen it countless times in other autocratic take overs and we are seeing it now. No matter which directions things go in the next few days, the assassination of Charlie Kirk will go down as the most momentous political assassination since MLK.
