Where did American aversion to public healthcare come from?Is it just insurance lobbyists who ingrained themselves into the political and religious elites?
Historically the american way of life is not insurable. You cant sell weapons to injure poeple and at the same time insure them agains injuries... Same for fast food and drugs.
america has the best healthcare in the world
Individualists culture + Lobbyists + Immigrant nation who don't want to pay for browns or other religions
It's mostly insurance lobbyists, yes.
>>17996511Fucking Cuba has higher live expectancy than the US, but at lest the profit line goes up.
The American aversion to Healthcare is a result of the moneyed interests successfully capturing the doctoral certification system and hospital industries and leveraging them into wealth transfer and debt slavery. This bargain was successful because from the human's perspective the alternative is rustic survival skills in the face of frontier hazards, which is too precarious for the individual or family to face alone. From the non-human perspective, healthcare is just another avenue for profitseeking middlemen. If you think of America less as a nation and more of a labor prison, then it makes a lot more sense why specific mechanisms take the forms they do.
>>17996503americans cannot stand being told what to do and treat everything as a service.if they need something, they'll pay for it. if not, they won't.
>>17996503The employment-based insurance is a product of high taxes on income which pushed employers to benefits over wages. It became the norm the US around the same time other models were catching on in European countries. Because most Americans are satisfied with their health insurance, there isn't much bottom-up pressure to make major changes to the system.>>17996511>>17996520The US has lower life expectancy because they make more unhealthy choices. Look to obesity, road accidents, homicides, drug overdoses, etc. With regard to the healthcare actually delivered, the average american def gets more and better than the average european (and cuban obviously) because they pay for it, but it is offset but the average american's vices.
>>17996567>With regard to the healthcare actually delivered, the average american def gets more and better than the average european (and cuban obviously) because they pay for it, but it is offset but the average american's vices. The problem is that Americans often can't afford the treatment. While the treatment itself might be top class, it's beyond the means of large segments of the society. And it's not just poor trailer park trash or or ghetto druggies who can't pay for it. Think about cancer treatment and the crippling debt it incurres.
>>17996567Many Americans delay doctor visits because they don't want to incur dept. This is why a lot of stuff goes on undiagnosted before it's too late. In countries with free healthcare people just get an appointment every time they feel unwell, not thinking about the cost, which leads to better prognosis.> the average american def gets more and better than the average european> averageSure, but what about median? People like Musk and Trump spend a small country's budget on their heath, while single case of cancer is enough to put a household into a livelong debt.
>>17996503American individualism has always been a strength and weakness in equal measure. They need to pull their heads in.
>>17996567>The employment-based insurance is a product of high taxes on income which pushed employers to benefits over wages.Insurance costs more than single-payer "healthcare tax" in European countries and deliver less.My friend was cured of cancer in her late 20s by our shitty European healthcare. They gave her treatment free of charge that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars on the free market. Yes, she was sometimes treated like shit by the doctors and she sometimes had her chemo in the hospital's corridor due to lack of space. But she got cured and returned to the workforce without a crushing debt.I doubt somehow Americans get the same value despite paying more to their for-profit vultures who own their healthcare.
>>17996568>>17996575>>17996594It is not so large a segment of society that it actually wins elections, so much so that "repeal and replace Obamacare" was something reps put up front, loud and proud, on their platform. For the very poorest, uninsured sick people, the hospitals, most of which are subsidized nonprofits, are obliged to provide emergency care, including cancer treatment, and are not afforded the same rights as other creditors. For instance, your medical debt holder isn't allowed to seize your assets like your mortgage holder is. Because low incomes and welfare cheques are protected from garnishing, the poorest can safely ignore their medical bills. Because of these and other quirks in US law, medical debt is more of an issue for the middle-class and up, but even then it is almost always wiped quick and clean in bankrupcy because it is unsecured.Americans get higher cancer survival rate than almost all Europeans across almost all types of cancer. You can argue the cost is too great for how marginal the benefit is to the population (however great to the individual ofc) and that gov rationing of healthcare is good precisely because maximizing healthcare consumption isn't best for society. But the US runs into the same issure because the old and most of the chronically sick are fully covered by gov under Medicare. All-in-all, "people can't afford healthcare in the US" is a lot like "people live paycheck-to-paycheck", Europeans and Americans themselves have can't really wrap their heads around how much more Americans consume.I'm European and sickly too fwiw.
>>17996655(Cancer treatment isn't usually emergency care but there are hospitals you can go that can't refuse you cancer treatment for inability to pay.)
>>17996520>Fucking Cuba has higher live expectancy than the USYou can have the best system in the world, but if the population eats junk food and drives everywhere it won't make a difference. How long Americans live is actually a testament to how good it is.

>found a country framed around protecting commerce interests>ideology is born that tells workers that they shouldn't be ruthlessly cucked by big corporations>tell your citizens that this evil foreign ideology is trying to destroy their way of life>teach your citizens that things like free healthcare or workers rights are not only bad, but treasonous>create a servile and docile workforce of fat retards who dutifully whoop and cheer at their own rights being rolled backthe united states is a retarded country but a very interesting one

>>17996791yurop unconditionally surrendered to egypt during the suez was. yurop only exists because the US guarantees it via nato. you live in a third world country
>>17996795Actually, this very week a NATO country's airspace was attacked by several drones. Other European countries immidiately stepped in to assist, while US president shrugged because that's not his problem. VP said something even more to that. This has implications far more reaching that most see, as Euros are now realizing that they are on their own and their own security is in their own hands.Which means that America is no longer writing security policy of Euro states, and can no longer leverage their potential. Yep, it's more far reaching than most retards realize.
>>17996503Lmao, it's way deeper than just lobbyists. It's the ultimate American LARP. Cucked population that unironically believes 'freedom' means choosing between bankruptcy or death. The insurance ghouls just monetized the existing puritan 'bootstraps' mentality. Getting sick is a moral failing here, and we'd rather die than admit collectivism is sometimes fucking based.
>>17996807based, can't wait for yurop to get it's shit kicked in. yurop hasn't won a war in over a century. even fucking india or morroco could enslave yurop in a matter of weeks. germany doesn't even have tanks>>17996812yuro tranny post
>>17996814>based, can't wait for yurop to get it's shit kicked in.Most likely scenario is that Euros will grown some balls and break away from American influence.Which BTW would be America's geopolitical nightmare that US did everything to prevent for the past ~80 years. Independent Europe means America won't be ever safe again. But average American is too fat and stupid to realize this anymore.
>>17996818lmao, there hasn't been a pair of balls or a brain in yurop in the past 150 years. yurop will surrender or come crying to the US because they are all cowards and have been cowards forever
>>17996818Why do we need useless eurocucks under our influence anyway? We'll be better off without them. America first! For all I care, then can go bow kow to Putin or Xi. Once a cuck, always a cuck. They drained countless american dollars, and for what? A worthless piece of shit EU? What is the point of having a NATO army if those faggots won't even pay their fair share of the bills? The eurocucks are too arrogant to realize they are useless as hell. Europe? If the eurocucks think America is a free load, they are in for a harsh reality check. America ain't going down as long as Trump is there. He is gonna put the cucks back in their place!
In the U.S., social policy often got entangled with race. Expansions of public healthcare were resisted in part because white elites feared benefits would go to immigrants.
>>17996503It helps understand to know that America is the last kingdom of Satan .
At first it was seen as a German thing during the WWI era, then it was regarded as Commie. Our current system of employer based health care comes from WWII when they wanted to keep Rosie riveting and staying at the same job, and it made sense post WWII when 40 years steady employment and a pension from General Motors was a thing. Now it’s just freedumb and the way we’ve always done it.
