Why were the only two succesful colonies in the new world ones which the natives were all killed and replaced by whites and there was also no race-mixing between whites and niggers/native-americans?
>>17997964Define successful
>>17997964Spanish America was richer than the northern English/French colonies for most of their history, thoughbeit.
>>17997966Having the highest HDI like U.S. and Canada.
>>17997969HDI ain't much to care about.
>>17997968Richer in what way? Silver and gold that was all shipped to spain? Or abundance of cash crops that were made by slaves? The average person's quality of life in spanish americs was terrible.
>>17997983Everything you just listed applies to British/French colonies. How did some Englishman in London benefit from the queen's merchants owning a workforce of millions of crop picking and rock mining pajeets?
>>17998008>How did some Englishman in LondonYou have to specify. The educated/middle class English man or the substantial underclass and the lower class people struggling to avoid it?
>>17998008I never said it didnt apply. Just that spanish americs was only richer and more profitable for the upper class and elite.
>>17998017Well, you originally set up the statement about "the average person", which would fall into the latter you've mentioned. If you want to just disregard them and only focus on the wealthy investors who got rich off connections during the colonial era, there were still plenty of Spanish/Mestizo families who also built private wealth during the colonial era.

There were more of them in the south. There's a reason that's where the Spanish had their colonies. In the population centers. The entirety of northern Mexico and Southwest US used to be natives fucking shit up. Basically they would be forced to raid to survive and that would bring the hammer down. I'm sure Americans weren't too picky about what they shot and killed in the woods to eat and there were a lot more of them. By the 20th century the US was ecologically devastated
The difference comes in how each respective colony was developedCanada and the 13 Colonies were setup by Britain to act as Bulwark territory against France Spain on the other hand was just trying to recreate the Muslim Empire but for Catholics instead For Britain it was about living space for BritsFor Spain it was just about spreading religion
Unlike in the US, Spain imported the feudal system over wholesale from Europe which meant you had a ruling class of land-based nobility that valued being the unquestioned gods of their own private little fiefs, contrast to the US which did not import the feudal system and had a much more cosmopolitan and urbanized ruling class focused more around mercantilism (especially in the north). This was further exasperated by how Spain prohibited it's colonies from trading or interacting with each other, which strangled any unifying identity from forming among the ruling classes in its crib, which feeds back into point 1 about the Spanish-American elite each wanting to stay their own little petty monarch. Again contrast to the US, where the 13 colonies were all economically interdependent with each other and had a single unified ruling class that had a nascent singular identity as "Americans".
>>17997981Then what is? Literally name any colony better than the Anglo ones
>>17997964>there was also no race-mixing between whites and niggers/native-americans?There was though.
>>17997964>no race-mixingthe american colonies passed anti miscegenation laws specifically because poor whites and poor blacks were race mixing you retardwhy are rightoids so historically illiterate
>>17998741In virginian planter elites it was even common to claim ancestry from Pocahontas (the origin of the "i'm 1/16th native" meme)
If you remove the indigenous population, you don't have to worry about their antics while you're building your colony.
>>18000309Yeah, but if they assimilate to your culture, that means more workers for you
Because our colonization was Catholic. Protestants cared about education(literacy to read the Bible) and, since the start, people were already becoming better each day. Catholics didn't want to read shit and were all plagued with ignorance.I'm Brazilian. You cannot find a book written by a Brazilian before 1860s. Americans were already writing in 1600s.
