Why couldn't culture stay the same forever? What went wrong? Who is to blame?Guys I'm distraught. I'm lying in a pool of sweat and piss and tears. I miss the 90's so much oh ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhI have put my life on hold to mourn for the 90's. My friends stopped contacting me after the 23rd call (yes, I counted). I haven't gotten out of bed in 2 months. I'm having strange heart palpitations. I'm hungry and sick and my MREs are starting to run out. I'm obviously fired, but who cares? If I step outside, it's not the 90's. Ohhhhhh don't woryy janny. hehe. I won't talk about what american culture is like now. Wouldnt' want to BREAK THE RULES ahahahahahah ahahhahhAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH
>>17999555>zillennial nostalgia thread>first thing they can remember is le colorful McDonald'sKill yourself
>>17999555Didn't you watch the tiktok video? It's because of money. It's cheaper and easier to sell buildings that look similar.
Globalization happened and now everything has to look like soulless corporate slop
>>17999555>>17999620This is the worst and gayest thing to miss about the 90's.
>>17999651>>17999620My favorite thing about the 90s was the youth culture. There was real freedom of speech amongst friends. 2nd favorite thing was early internet. (freedom of speech there too). That mcdonalds pic was just an example.
>>17999666>2nd favorite thing was early internet.Zoomer LARP. Nobody misses dialup.
This thread is proof that escapism doesn't work.
>>17999672You don't get it. Limitations breed creativity. 10Gbps internet just makes human's brains explode with endless options and stimulation.
>>17999701The Internet peaked in the late 2000s, zoomie.
>>17999705>right about when people stopped going outside and laws became dystopian.erm....
>>17999555I've literally been to the playhouse in this picture
>>17999555Believe it or not, neckbeards your age are now creating music and media that children born in this generation will see as being nostalgic. Even though it's probably mostly shit tier. Like, some kids from 2018 will think the 2018 TMNT artstyle and story is better than anything that came before or after it. Simply because that's the era they were born in. It's no different with this McDonald's thing.
You should probably call a friend. You need help.
>>17999666>That mcdonalds pic was just an example. You're just infantile.
>>17999955post-moderncel says what?
>>17999555>I miss the 90s so mu-ACK
>>17999555because the world is constantly in flux
one thing I noticed comparing 80s and 90s nostalgia is that people like the 80s because good stuff happened in the 80s, whereas people only like the 90s because the bad stuff didn't happen yet (9/11, recession, woke, covid)the 90s do not really hold up on their own without being compared to later decades
>>18000099As a man who lived through both decades I can tell you the 90s where much better, we just beat the commies, we ruled the world, no tranny's, fags, sandniggers and other genetic trash pretending to be normal people, China was still a ricefield full of yellow midgets. It was paradise,
>>18000099>H-Hey guys, remember when there was no Patriot Act and cellphones? And Vietnam was just a bad memory? And the press and media was about 20% free and uncontrolled still? And remember when..>SHUTUUUUUUUUPSomething happened that made Americans too infantile. It was around before the 90's. But the 90's were really the worst. Every fucking thing was a kid thing. Kid shows, kid movies, kid restaurants, kid stores. Now Americans just want a big daddy or mommy to give them shiny toys. Women think being in an argument is a fine reason to divorce because the women in thier young adult shows had a different bf every episode.
>>17999555Bro I just had a major depressive episode and even I wasn't this sad, I just drank a lot and took a lot of pills and drove markedly worse
>>18000150>we just beat the commieswe didn't "beat" the commies, we outlasted them, and liberal democracy is now next on the chopping block.and the fall of the USSR was, in the longterm, actually bad for the US. the USSR was a rival and gave the US competition which motivated us to innovate in tech, media and other things. the fall of the USSR meant no more competition which slowly lead to the West not trying to innovate and that slowly lead to the cultural stagnation we face now. yes 9/11 and the recession contributed to that but we were going down that path anyway before all that. 2000 looks closer to 2025 than it does 1980.>we ruled the worldand what did that do? more liberal democracy that amounts to the death of traditional culture and to be replaced with cheap "pop culture"?>no tranny's, fags, sandniggers and other genetic trashthis shit started way back in the 60s, and the world we live in now is just a logical conclusion of the shit pushed in the 90s and prior.>It was paradise, look up America in 1900.>>18000165it's no winder younger millennials who were kids in the 90s turned into basedboy consoomers.
>the 90s were aweso-ACK
>we had so much freedom back th-ACK
>>18000244If you don't have some sort of separatist catastrophe at least once a decade you're doing something wrong.
>it was so much be-ACK
>>18000244>>18000248These events would barely ruffle a feather nowadays. The algorithm would replace them with random acts of violence and globalist talking points. Like that blonde woman who was stabbed. Very important sad story, but there was no underlying political motivations on either side. This is a perfect distraction/propaganda story because the reporters can weave whatever narrative they want.
>>18000256That bombing was fake and gay. Par for the course from then on till now.
>>18000244Were you part of David Koresh’s cult? How could this event ruin the 90s for anyone outside of his cult?
>>17999555>Why couldn't culture stay the same forever?Because entropy. You’re a child who can’t handle things changing
>>18000346People were getting tired of the government's shit before 9/11 enabled it to grasp its citizens with a tighter gauntlet. Bootlicker fags will point to these events as proof that the tighter grip is better.
>>17999936Millennial's aint creating shit beyond music, and modern mass popular music trends died in the early 2000s. There has not been a single mass popular pop song that everyone knows since the 1990s.Gen X still controls the reigns of culture. Almost all "Millennial" writing is actually Gen X writers trying to appeal to Millennials. Hence why shows feel they're written by people trying to appeal to Redditors circa 2012 still with "Epic bacon" and "Doggo" memes and such.
>>180003609/11 accelerated the people's distrust in the government. without it we would've continued to live in a bubble.
>>18000392Maybe but the Patriot Act didnt exist before did it?And all the media that didnt like it are silenced now.
>>18000038>one terrorist attack made the entire decade bad????If that's the logic you're gonna use, might have gone with OKC bombing. The '93 trade center attack only killed like 8 people. OKC bombing killed 100s.
>>18000038>>18000244>>18000248>>18000256Begone, doomer retard.>>18000192I'm 42 and have been battling major depressive episodes since puberty. You are stronger than you think, you will get through this. You really need to set the bottle down however. Alcohol is your enemy, it is the ally of suffering. I assume by pills you mean either opioids or benzos, both terrible to mix with alcohol but the benzos alone mixed with alcohol can be fatal. I just passed a year mark without alcohol and feel so much better off. Instead of hiding from my pain and drinking it away (only to have it become even worse than before), I face the demons that torment me and the ghosts that haunt me.Get yourself a good therapist, face the hurt inside you, stop getting drunk/high and take control of your life.I'm rooting for you, anon. You got this.
>>18000256McVeigh was based, cry about it nigger.
>>17999555It was even woke then>t. was conservative in the 90s as a teenager and witnessed it
>>18000550yeah I can't imagine being in the 90s. nonstop leftist propaganda and without ANY opposition and noticing
>>18000569Well I wasn't very well liked in school I'll tell you that much
>>18000439Man you're just one year younger than me.
>>17999623It's actually because poor people started to buy the cheap coffee at McDonald's but once Starbucks took over they preferred to frequent the "mature" establishment. So McDonald's and every other fast food chain started to adopt the same minimalist architecture.
>>18000476Wignat cope.
>>18000369This. I've played music my whole life and there hasn't been anything remotely interesting to listen to or learn to play in DECADES. It's crazy. Only 7 years passed from Van Halen 1984 to the first Grunge albums, but it's been over 30 since Nirvana, and basically nothing has changed, and actually become much worse. Millennials and Zoomers are actively hostile and allergic to originality and creativity. They have no "teen spirit" to smell, no angst, no nothing. Even Limp Bizkit is doing the "Boomer Nostalgia Tour" circuit, ffs. All the "best" Xers died years ago, so they never got to enjoy their well-earned, money grab tours at this point. Jerry Cantrell is about the only one left and still doing well, but it's not the same without Layne and Mike. It's beyond depressing to admit, but the few Boomer bands still going really are still better than the "best" of the "best" Millennial and Zoomer slop around. Oh well, off to play my beloved 80s shred on my guitar b/c it's fucking still rad and not fake and ghey despite the fact that the entire era was about being fake and ghey.
>>18000569Sure, but there were still tons of cool bands and movies and even books, remember those? It wasn't perfect, but it was pretty dang close.
>>17999555>Who is to blame?Groups like jews and masons, a braindead masses of sheep.
>>18000892>putting Scottish people in with themVery transparent tactics.
>>18000842Im a musician too but im not nearly as pessimistic.
>>18000728McVeigh: 168FBI: 1Cope and seethe
>>17999555I'm positive this is a 2000s and not a 90s photo. It was obviously shot with a digital camera not a film one and McDonalds in the 90s mostly had brown not red roofs.
>>18000223WE did beat the commies with starwars, and CIA puppets like gorbatsjov and the mujahideen. I agree that we should have cleaned up the planet and removed all the the "people" who are on our land and resources. America in 1900 can't hold a candle to America in 1990, FACT
>>17999555>Why couldn't culture stay the same forever? What went wrong? Who is to blame?I did itfuck you
A lot of the nostalgia & yearning for the 90s on this site is very shallow. Plenty of people in this thread plainly state that they're not even liberals so they're not mourning the loss of the end of history and the stability of the unipolar world. The yearning just boils down to cartoons and fast food. This is a very American thread in that regard lol.
>>18001980the 90s in my country wasn't so pretty and nobody in their right mind wants to relive it
>>18001991Russia? Bosnia?
