Why is it so unlike all other places in India?
>>
>>18000479
Should be independent or part of Myanmar/China desu
>>
>>18000479
Sikkim has the saddest story of them all, could have been a prosperous kingdom like Bhutan, was literally JEETED by immigration
>>
>>18000525
Sikkim is not one of them though, however, it follows a similar trend, a lot of these were tribal ans remote til very recently, Nagaland had headhunters way into the 70s.
>>
Nagaland,Manipur,Mizoram are parts of Burma inside India
Meghalaya is just there
Arunachal used to be a part of Tibet
And Assam (where i live in) & Tripura are part of greater Bangla (although there is a replacement of native populations going on because of Bangladeshi and mainland rapefugees)
All of this is The fault of new Delhi & London
>>18000525
Yk why they did that?
To maximise control
>>
>>18001258
Yeah, They imported mainland settlers to Sikkim to dilute the Sikkimese culturally and stop revolts/separatism, same thing nearly happened to bhutan but they were wiser and kicked yout the settlers, remaining independent.

As for Assam and Tripura, aren't these immigrants pretty culturally similar tho? (As you mentioned, part of greater Bengal)
>>
Bumping for interest, there's some pretty strange and interesting stories here

Tiny random Southeast Asian kingdoms that were colonized as part of British Raj, turned into Tea PlantationsTM, and swamped with random immigration of Indians like >>18000525 said

They're also kind of interesting in some regions because they weren't Hindu, they were random isolated tribal religions, so some of those far east Indian provinces have large Christian populations, Baptists are especially prevalent there
>>
Mostly Christian chinks iirc
>>
>>18000479
Jeets only wanted this place because they heard the name Seven Sisters.
>>
>>18002093
Yeah I heard Nagaland and Mizoram are both very christian, wild that they were head hunting pagans till like the 70s, there's even a BBC documentary on it

>>18002102
Some are christian, a lot are hindu and many are also animist or tribal shamanists who practice some form of ancestor worship
>>
>>18002102
Why haven't china tried to annex then desu?
>>
>>18002074
Yah we use a pretty similar language but that's it
But god damn we are not like them
Not going to claim that we are whiter then them (even doe we are and it doesn't matter)
But our culture is 100 times more civilised then them
>>
>>18002742
Are there any independence movements in the sisters? Or at least movements to join other culturally similar states?
>>
All of India is the same, Pajeet.
>>
>>18004222
These people are only Indian because of a bare technicality of national borders, a lot of closer ties with southeast asia

We are not talking about jeets shitting in Dehli's streets
>>
>>18004938
So again, why don't they secede or join the other SEA states?
>>
>>18004942
>why don't they secede or join the other SEA states
Even first world groups have trouble seceding and the only state they could reasonably join would have the exact same problems.
>>
>>18004942
>why don't they secede or join the other SEA states?
Burma easily could if their regime was less retarded but given their regime is based on a weird type of Buddhist, Bamar ethnosupremacist clerical fascism they never could.
There's definitely a TL where India and Burma become bitter rivals and wage a Kashmir-esque series of wars and conflicts over it though.
