Why isnt there a Christian authority on what’s literal in the bible and what’s not?

>>18006924The Nicene Creed left that up to the Church to interpret the Bible and publish their own Catechisms regarding Church doctrine and Biblical interpretation. Meanwhile at the same time, Rabbinic Jews were also trying to figure out how to best authorize and codify the Torah, but instead of leaving it up to Church authority, they basically left interpretation open, wrote the opinions of a bunch of Rabbi into the Talmud as a scholarly reference, and then left it up to basically everyone else to debate the Torah and the arguments outlined in the Talmud with there essentially being no one single correct answer.
