Does anyone have good works as an introduction to Zoroastrianism? Mostly its history and core tenets, doctrines, rules and metaphysics.
Pic related, the "Beavers in Zoroastrianism" thread last week sparked my interest, as apparently killing a beaver is seen as worse than murdering someone. It's such an influential religion, yet i know almost nothing about it.

The Avesta, the holy scripture of Zoroastrianism.

I got a decent book off of Amazon which was excerpts from the Gathas and Old Avesten Canon. The translator was a bit gay/woke and inserted phrases like "of all genders" instead of men and women. But it was a decent read nonetheless.

The Zend Avesta books I bought were awful and I returned them. Like three books of Leviticus style rules about touching dead bodies and shit.
