Maybe.but it was pretty interesting. The history that is shown is from the bottom but rarely the top and thats the interesting bit.

Yes, it was that bad, though it had some technological achievements. For me, the human suffering outweighs the accomplishments, but from a purely developmental lens, it was not a failure.
>>18012431As shocking and disgusting as it is to someone from the civilized world to see all the famines, genocides and totalitarian oppression the USSR imposed on its people, this is just how slavs and other savages govern themselves so the USSR wasn't as bad as people claim it was. At least Soviet brutality, unlike tsarist brutality, turned the slav in to a race that could pass as human and made them industrious and spacefaring.
