Proverbs are retarded and they fall apart to scrutiny. Even worse is using them as arguments. For example, "pot calling the kettle black" is an ad hominem and merely a deflection.
>>18012711Ad hominem is a type of fallacious argument. Proverbs aren't arguments.
>>18012718People still use proverbs as arguments.
>>18012721They use them as proverbs. Patterns in daily life that get noticed, packed into a short phrase and passed down the generation so they are more ready to intercept the same pattern. If you were told this phrase, they were pointing out to you that you were being a hypocrite and the fact you're familiar with the phrase should have made it easier for you to see their point. I don't think I've ever heard anyone use a proverb as an argument outright.

Would you prefer if they just said "you are a hypocrite" you autistic little cunt?
