There was also a myth about how Saturn ruled in Latium as a fair and benevolent ruler. The Romans also associated Saturn with wealth and so the treasury was kept in the Temple of Saturn during Republican times. As a side note the Roman government didn't have any official government buildings in the modern sense until the Imperial period so even the Curia Hostilia (the Republican Senate House) was officially just a temple
