My opinion is that if you sold vegetables on a local market for two weeks you will understand more about society than any of these authors. Though if your aim is to engage in intellectual discourse that is informed by this literature, naturally these would be good choices. I read none of those.

You start with the old anthropologists, then move into evolutionary biology, then behavior, then cultural anthropology. That’s actually a natural way to build your framework.
