I don't know how to describe this post as anything other than depressing but its really hitting me I was never a "good" human being. I was ego-centric and aligned with "positive/neutral" but actually being a good human is a vastly different thing. I've been studying a lot of history , most of our so called "most noble people" were born with strong hands in the first place, even when you reflect on Jesus - from Christian framing he was the Son of God, ie he occupied a very special rank hence his infinite kindness. At a certain point , its clear that even the anomaly stories we tell ourselves are occasional bones thrown out by the elite to keep faith in the system. It's clear that most humans would backstab each other in a heart beat if their personal resources were ever sabotaged even if they claim to be "religious". It's clear that most religious people do so purely out of selfishness to solve the problem of existential angst while lording over others in piety. Homeless people affirm you not because they see anything in you - but because they hope to stroke your ego to keep you giving more. To truly love god for STRICTLY gods sake (no guilt, no shame, no pride, no ego, etc etc) is actually an incredibly rare thing and an incredible undertaking to live under those guidelines in the 21st century. It is an almost guaranteed life of immense trial and tribulation especially as one of the poor unless through extreme luck or circumstance such as the Boomer Generation where a rising tide lifted all ships
>>18029152What hope do any of us "plebs" really have to be "good" in a world like this? Sometimes I feel the hindus were right with their caste system idea (not execution) - everyone does in fact just occupy a place on the ladder and punching too far above is actually detrimental to all parties and destabilizes the ladder. I've been studying power systems, everything about human nature and this crooked world indicates that to truly climb a rank it involves either immense talent (ie a fallen king that just needed to get back up to where they belonged) , a good genetic base (built like a workhorse to outlast the competition) , or cunning / manipulation to the degree that would land you straight to hell (take many of these silicon valley or tech nerds) A weak man can fundamentally never be a good man and a strong good looking man has more to gain from acting like Lucifer/tempting/luring than simply being good for its own sake. The prodigal son partly being an example of this -- I know the common narrative but biblical tales often seem to carry a materialist AND spiritual meaning , if the prodigal son was the genetic favourite and the dutiful son the work force imp/slave - no matter how many crimes the first son commits , he would still be accepted Most "legends" of history just propaganda campaigns paid for from what is essentially the estate of the wealthy noble in question.
>>18029162most wars fought for glory or "the right side" was really just a resource grab and gullible fools or tired men just telling themselves it will all be over soon and they'll be reunited in valhalla or whatever War in ukraine for example , Russia obviously wants ukraines agricultural power within its economy. Sends all its men off to die for really no good reason than conquest.
>>18029170It seems as if good only exists because if we actually took the world and human society as it really is and operates -- we would go bat shit insane under the weight of it all. Good is just one grand coping mechanism for the evil of the world that is the natural operating order. That depresses me and what should I read to truly refute the futility of good

>>18029152loving God is not rare in Bharat, but it is in the West. the problem is that people are clueless about how to worship. they do it in their own way, or in the way a priest told them to do
