>>18034290By using this term, instead of self or soul or even human, Heidegger emphasizes that Dasein is not some subject interacting with an objective world, but is a kind of activity, or range of possibilities of action. Dasein is a "clearing," an open region of meaning in which beings can come to presence (not a subject making a region of intelligibility).According to Martin Heidegger, an artwork is a power that sets up its own "world" and reveals it to the viewer as a form of disclosure. In Super Mario 64 they build on this idea in the way Mario enters different artworks, which literally constitute their own worlds. This is Mario's particular "Dasein", he is thrown into the world via jumping. It's an interesting Heideggerian game. The controls basically force the player to embody Mario through experience resulting in a Dasein. The level of variety makes this interaction unique and due to a limited set of objectives with large amounts of variety and fantasy elements technology is facilitating an authentic Dasein.
