Even imperial Japanese culture started off as a blatant rip off of the Tang Dynasty and continued that way well into the Heian period before evolving into it's own thing, though still with visible Tang influence. Japanese culture pre-Tang influence was unrecognizable and goofy looking af; shit and peasant like.
