All those manufacturing giants and Intel workers that came in to power through WW2 got turned within after the war. Grab yourself some children's media from the 50's or 60's. The 1950's esthetic that chuds (feds) were pining for was a planned system. Mommy and daddy work. Sally and Timmy watch TV and grow up to do likewise. Capitol M planned post war Modernity. Just saw another video where a climate major explained how lawns are a post WW2 invention. They needed something to do with the nitrogen industry developed for the war. So multiple nitrogen treatments and herbicides invented for war were purposely transferred to lawn care industry. On one hand this keeps people employed.On the other hand it costs the homeowner. It requires way more water because nitrogen makes grass grow faster. Herbicides harm people. It may be a model for a strong economy but it is not a model for sustainability.
