Rome never fell, particularly Western Rome never fell. The idea of the fall of the Western Roman Empire was just Byzantine propaganda to delegitimize Gothic Rome and elevate their own claims to rulership of Western Rome

>Rome never fell
Outside of Italy it certainly did. The only reason Italy was spared the same fate was because they were not violently conquered from the outside like the rest of the West and instead Roman rule ended through usurpation
>delegitimize Gothic Rome and elevate their own claims to rulership of Western Rome
The Goths never claimed to rule the Roman Empire. Theodoric presented himself as a Roman ruler, but never as a Roman or the ruler of Romania

Theodoric was Roman Consul and ruled the West on behalf of the Emperor in Constantinople

The ostrogoths were christian at that time Christ-tard anon.

They were arian heretics

And where is your eunuch empire now?

>Theodoric was Roman Consul
Most of the time he wasn't. Nor did he really care about the who the Senate chose.
>ruled the West on behalf of the Emperor in Constantinople
In fiction he did, in reality he was completely independent and didn't even bother with the lip service half the time.

There was never any mass campaign of rebaptism because it was recognized that the Arian baptisms were valid.

Not only that, but Athanasius advocated that repentant Arian bishops retain their sees, meaning their orders were also still valid and they retained apostolic succession despite succumbing to error (sometimes under significant pressure from the state).

heretics =/= heathens

Cimbrian War & Jugurthine War on Rome based on Funnelbeaker shared trade heritage = Arnor & Gondors reunion against Mordor
Tolkien put up the torch after Snorri and continued the validation of the Arianists.

Baudila (Totila) was unironically a good and valiant king despite being a political enemy. I'm a romaboo but still sad about the Ostrogoths. They were different from the Vandals, and much better rulers. Maybe they should have been less treacherous to each other, especially knowing Justinian's temperament and the fact that he had a very capable general and a full treasury (thanks Anastasius).
Amalasuintha was not only the daughter of Theodoric but also of the Amal line, which was kind of holy in the Gothic world.

We all live in a Roman world
Some of us have chosen to accept that fact

Ok that's a wild take because Tolkien was a staunch Catholic who hated analogies to real history.
He had darker races though, most of whom sided with Sauron either conscripted (Haradrim/Africans and Khand/Arabs) or voluntarily (Rhun/Turks-Mongols)
King Elessar of the Reunited Kingdom singed treaties with all these and Rhun were the last to surrender and go back to their lands.

Tolkien simply translated the mythic history passed down to him by Snorri and the other Nordic sagas to fit his personal linguistic hypothesis of what had yo have transpired.
So there was no analogy going on, but an honest attempt at filling in known hypotheticals with made up languages for fun in order to better structure and make sense of the myths.

After the goth wars Italy and particulary Rome and the Lazio were destroyed. Seems to me it was always the plan, to permanentely provincilize Italy to have a buffer zone against germoids. It took until the Normans to have trouble coming that way

It's a shame tho, the Goths were the noblest and mightiest forest niggers ever

Yeah no
Read the Silmarillion, or even better the HoME found in the usual places ( lib gen)
