A lesser known version was that Zeus ate Phanes, not Metis.The battle of the giants was quite literally a battle of the gas giants that caused a havoc in our system.I think that this may have caused a transfer of energy or material between them, so the son that will overthrow Zeus will be Phanes removing himself or separating himself from that which did not belong to him, and taking back from Zeus what does belong to him.
