Seriously. It seems like a huge majority of boomer priests in the Catholic church still think it's the 70s and they are trying to "progress" the church from it's old ways. Virtue signaling that they are not bigoted, etc. I don't get it. If you're a hippie progressive why would you want to become a celibate priest?

Many current bishops, priests, and theologians were ordained in the 80s. That was right after 1965, when the Church encouraged engagement with the modern world.
